(thumbs u - I'll take that number
If we subtract all the ones that everyone on these boards own, I'm assuming there's about 1,000 in circulation with 17,000 being hoarded by us.

When I was younger and had less cash to spend on comics (not that I have a ton of money to spend on them these days) and wanted to try and flip books to pay for my collection, I would buy three copies (two to sell and one to keep). That worked well for me but it was before the internet took off and I was selling to people I knew in my community. The margin is smaller on books for sellers now becauase there isn't much of an option to sell to your community so you have to add shipping, ebay and paypal costs and fees. Three may still be the right number for a smaller budget but it is definitely more difficult now than it was then. Picking the right books is obviously the key and I don't need to remind any one of that, but we don't get much discussion on the boards that helps people pick books to flip. I think a discussion of people's selling strategies and picks would be fun and helpful but there are not a lot of boardies willing to engage in such a discussion. I remember one post in reference to books people are ordering from Previews that was like "your not going to get my picks from me." To an extent I can understand that, but if that's the way you feel there's no need to tell everyone. The word "speculation" has such a bad wrap that you can't write it without upsetting someone. On a related note, I imagine that the print run for Revival is going to be a lot larger than many people in this thread think. I'm predicing that it will be almost as high as Saga.
TLDR version please?
Wow! I thought this was an excellent post. Sorry that reading isn't people's strong suit on these boards. I need to remember to keep my ideas in short colorful word balloons as to not loose my audience.
+1 - thought is was a good post as well.
Don't mind Bagel, he has the attention span of a 12-year old girl

Certainly nice for the seller! That's definitely a very high result for a book that sells for $10 raw. Saga 1 has been selling for $15 - $20 raw lately, and that's a $90 book in 9.8
Well let's hope the price stays strong for at least another 2 days
-
Anyone have a link please? I can't find it...
-
Yeah, it was listed by same guy who has the 9.8 variant as a BIN OBO at $250.
-
Yeah, I saw that. There's one more up for auction ending wednesday night at only 79.99 currently, just incase anyone is wondering.
(shameless plug)
-
TLDR? What is that?
+1
I told you no one knows what that means. Apparently typing out 'too long, didn't read' is too many words to actually type.

When you go through what CGC does to grade a book then perhaps you would agree more. And with the Olympics on where it seems the US only celebrates Gold, with everything else being seen as a loss, you can understand the .2 price difference. 9.8 is generally considered the best, the gold medal and every other grade level falls in line as not being he best.
Russia hates 9.6's too

That's true, but according to the story, they did say "never come back in my shop ever again". If a random employee is saying that, that's pretty ballsy
-
I've got my pitchfork ready. Let's go after them!
I say we confirm the shop and then all get together for like 1 hour and just bombard them with phone calls asking about the copies of Revival
-
Ok. I'll put it up tonight but I do charge a $5 auction watching fee. I'm still trying to collect from the 13 people watching my other auction. If you want to watch both, i'll do a discount for $8.
It's listed. If you plan on watching, please PM me and I will give you my paypal information to send payment. Thanks (thumbs u

So are these 'chase' variants just randomly sent out or what's the deal?

We need a name! GIVE US A NAME!

I'm thinking this gets a 3rd print at least, possibly a 4th

Good luck waiting on that. I received my last shipment before they updated the site to say 'shipped/safe'. It was stuck on 'graded' for days. Never even said it was 'encapsulated'.
Considering there's no "encapsulated" status message, you would have been waiting on that one for quite a while
I was reading this part on the website "Grades are available online once the books are marked with the status “Encapsulation"
My grades were available when it said 'Graded' but I never got to that "Encapsulation" status.
It's a mistake - it should say "Graded" instead of "Encapsulation".
It goes from Received to Verified to Scheduled For Grading to Graded to Shipped/Safe.
Just like Jeff mentioned, when the online status says "Scheduled For Grading", your books have most likely been graded, but haven't been finalized (which means you can get the grades over the phone or through email). It's not until the books reach Shipped/Safe that the grades are considered final.
Cool. Thanks for the info! (thumbs u That was my first online submission so it's all new to me
-
Yeah, I was hoping for that 9.4 to be changed to a 9.9 but it never happened
-
Yeah, I don't know. I saw the grades when they said graded and then was waiting because it said grades aren't final till it says finalized or something like that but it never changed from graded until I went on one morning and it said 'shipped' and I got them in mail an hour later. And I was checking daily.
Who knows. I'd rather have them grading and not worrying about updating the website.

Wow.

Yeah. Those 9.9's can suck it. Now who wants to sell me one?
-
Interesting.
I wonder if the graders are just sick and tired of grading WD books.

I think that's a little high based solely on the quantity on eBay. It's rare to find more than one or two listed at a time. Regardless of the print run, I think condition is more rare on that book. I haven't seen many listed in NM condition. If that guy from that link thinks that book is a 9.6, he's on crack.
And as in all my posts, I remind you that I am completely talking out of my and do not actually have facts to back up anything I'm saying.
