  1. Maybe my coworkers are correct I do need help. But sir and I use the term loosely, I do not have a vindictive bone in my body.
  2. So what you are saying is that it's alright for larry to be unprofessional and no one else? I am glad that he is raising awareness for indy books and artists, but that does not give him a free pass to be a huge dickensian. I am not saying Tommy did nothing wrong, we did not see what if anything happened in the store. He was just voicing his displeasure with that store here. I didn't really see anything wrong with Tommy's post, he said how he felt, but then larry posts and I said what I felt at the time and still feel that way.
  3. Dude, if what is indeed what you are going to do, that is truly a dickensian move..
  4. I just sold a 9.8 ASM 700 for $91.00 the other day. That qualifies as heat right? ASM 700 Yes. Some are still very interested in following Ock/Spidey to its conclusion. Late bloomers are still hunting variants and still paying good money. I think I have 3 variants and I can still pick up regular issue of 700 for cover at my lcs.
  5. It was a pretty good episode. The pull up thing that Ollie was doing would take a ton of strength.
  6. I did pick this up yesterday, my lcs has a lot of them. I have not had a chance to read it yet.
  7. was hoping that one thread could be here in the discussion section, vs in an actual sales thread.... Maybe, but so far he has done nothing worth nominating him for, according to the rulez.
  8. I just finished watching Wednesdays episode. I really enjoyed it! I liked the flash backs and the Huntress coming back.
  9. Sold some books to Anthony, communication was excellent and fast payment! It was a pleasure to work with Anthony. Thanks
  10. One of my lcs that I go to, I can usually find back issues from years ago still at cover price. All they deal in is new stuff. Then every so often they have a 50-75% off sale of all of their back stock.
  11. I know this is probably not the place to put this, but I thought it might get the most attention if I post it here. On gohasting.com the Walking Dead Governor Special Hastings Exclusive Variant is up for sale at $4.99 if anyone is interested.
  12. in thru the nose, out thru the mouth. In thru the nose, out thru the mouth.....
  13. i agree with that, i was said to be all doom and gloom for stating that its overvalued. I am impressed with what a good discourse we have had, with everyone sharing there thoughts in a well articulated manner. As to, "who knows if it will sustain", that was kind of the crux of the whole discussion. I said it will not, others think it will. I just wanted to hear the other perspective. See if people can make a buyer out of me. For what its worth, if you guys want something positive in the form of outlook or perspective from me on NWM, I will say this (and agree with some others who have said it). Thought Bubble is the book to own on this title. It launched in the UK, is far more dispersed, sold plenty before the mania started, was the first 500 variant released, has quality issues. When all the dust settles, whether NWM sustains or tumbles, Thought Bubble will be the top dog. These oranges and blues will be more common, common in higher grade, and far more in the hands of flippers looking to sell. If I were buying NWM, and a long term believer, I'd be hoovering up Thought Bubbles as fast as I could while the Eye of Sauron is upon the Blue's and Orange's. I'd also be snarfing up any #1s I could find for cheap. Especially ones people think are 9.4s/9.6s, cause its a white cover, and decent stock. Press press away those cheap 9.8s and hold. My investor side 2 cents, with some positivity So you would not want my NWM #1 1st print?
  14. I would think it would be, but I love those comics. IMO it all depends on an attachment to IM 55 and ASM 50. I would gladly take another one of either of those. But there is an appeal of having a comic that only has a print run of 500.
  15. I finally sat down and watched the last episode. It was really a good episode. Felicity was really hot in that dress!
  16. Wait.... What? Amazing, I must have missed that one somewhere along the line....
  17. If I ramble it's because I've been up for awhile - I've been getting up early trying to adjust to the upcoming time change I have to deal with. I agree with Eric Stephenson. You have to respect the fact that the book is being offered at the convention for the attendees. Setting aside maybe 5% -10% of the print run might have been one thing, but taking almost half the print run off the top with no per person limits, then continuing to take more wait list orders past 400 copies on a 500 copy print run? Even if it was coming from a good place (charity) the book could no longer be considered a con exclusive. The book you say you were trying to prevent from being cornered in the market, has just in fact been cornered by you. The argument being made by boardies here that someone is going walk up to a publisher's table and buy 200 copies... or a few guys are going to buy 100 copies? I've never seen anything like that happen at any convention. And if someone tried they would probably be laughed at. Basically it comes down to this - how would you feel if you were a big "Nowhere Men" fan, stood in line before opening, then you finally went into a convention and were told - "We're sold out, some guy from the CGC boards bought them all". You'd be pissed & and you'd have every right to be. In my opinion if this deal would have gone through it would have had serious repercussions and given the Boards a black eye. A lot of board members would not be able to do business as usual at cons (purchases, signings, etc.) and would be looked upon with suspicion. I enjoy going to conventions. I've gotten to know a lot of board members, creators, and even publishers through them. When it comes to the exclusives I pickup a little of everything where I can but I never go into a convention saying "I'm going to buy out an exclusive & corner the market on this." I look for high grade copies to resell because that's what the CGC board members here want. I find out what the limits for purchase are and I roll with that. I'll stand there with the attendees and sort my books, hell I'll even help pick out copies for the guys next to me. If there is demand here on the boards I find out if I can purchase more, if I can't I move on and let you guys know. Respect the con attendees, respect the creators, respect the comic book publishers, respect the limits at your local LCSs.... respect everyone. I have been to a lot of shows with exclusives and in most circumstances dealers/vip's are always getting the show exclusives before it begins. I also have never heard of anyone saying "some guy from the CGC boards bought them all" for example. Just because you go to a show does not mean you are guaranteed an exclusive. Plus you are assuming a lot that all of the board members are going for the resale of these. And I am not saying you would see some up for sale, because I am sure there would be. Sure I put my up for 2, my brother is a huge NWM fan and I thought it would make a great birthday gift for him and 1 for myself. "Respect the con attendees, respect the creators, respect the comic book publishers, respect the limits at your local LCSs....respect everyone" But IMO it does not sound like you respect the person trying to help fellow boardies out that can't make it to the show. No disrespect towards e.s. or you BB intended at all.
  18. I picked up #1 of this yesterday at a LCS for cover price. They had a few of them plus a few #2's but nothing higher than that.
  19. I know how you feel Andy, I saw your comments! But the I see it is that I got a really good deal, plus almost all of the other ones where ASM. A good friend of mine wants the NWM really bad and I don't really care for them, so I might trade them. I also got a Bedlam #2, Todd the Ugliest kid on Earth #1, and another one I have heard of. Cheers! you did good. now give me that defenders 1 Sorry, I am keeping that one! I have several other Defenders #1's and I am hoping that I can get a higher grade from one of those. I also have a beautiful Defenders #10 except for 1 thing and that's the miswrap.
  20. I bought a mystery box from Venom and in it was NWM 1,2,3, and a 2nd print of 2.
