  1. To make photographic prints for books, postcards, souvenirs, etc...
  2. The Keebler drug issue is in the promotional section at the beginning, I don't recognize the orange one. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=229981 Orange is the IBM version.
  3. Isn't that Apple's business motto? "No one in this world, so far as I know—and I have searched the record for years, and employed agents to help me—has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people." --H.L. Mencken, Gist of Mencken "You can never underestimate the stupidity of the of the general public." --Scott Adams, Dilbert
  4. Digging through some flea market 3/$1 bins I found some King Kong #1s. Too bad somebody had written on the covers... Who's this Dave Stevens character anyways?
  5. Watchcount.com Drop the item number in the keywords box has worked for me in the past.
  6. Yes, the malls were spread out all over the US. Here's where I think those malls were/are located: Montclair Plaza - Montclair CA (near Los Angeles) Westgate Mall - I think near Boston, but I'm not sure Clearview Mall - Butler PA (near Pittsburgh) North Shore Square Mall - Slidell La Rhode Island Mall - Providence RI Spring Hill Mall - Dundee IL Washington Park Mall -- Bartlesville OK I've asked a few shops around these areas if they have these variants in hand, and I've had no luck. I think they are extremely hard. I'm guess that only a few hundred or more were made for each mall. Westgate Mall is Brockton, MA. My childhood mall which I'm amazed is still operating. Here's a pic of Spider-Man at the mall in the early 1980s. Perhaps the owner at the time was a comic fan.
  7. Continuing storyline on the Flash TV show. Victor Garber is cast as Martin Stein. Hoping for a spin off down the road.
  8. Before SDCC the NEC e-mail newsletter mentioned that they would have the ashcans for Tick 1 and 2 as well the 1st app newsletter for sale at their booth. I've never seen a #2 ashcan. Did anyone get a peek at it?
  9. It's a consignment book. The owner sets the price. http://mycomicshop.com/search?q=teenage+mutant+ninja+turtles+72&pubid=&PubRng=
  10. Late 80s early 90s Shaws Supermarket always scanned my spinner rack treasures like canned vegetables. I believe Osco Drug did as well.
  11. Hulu Plus only has 5 episodes. 8, 9, 13, 14, 15.
  12. Great reveal at the end when Barry realizes where he is and who he's with.
  13. I think the problem finding it came from the little info provided along with the bickering. It wasn't a copper. It's German language. It's a reprint of Adventures of Superman renumbered and retitled "Superman Der Mann Aus Stahl." So, it's not altogether surprising that nobody had seen it or could find it on a mostly english speaking board. If it had been posted on one of the foreign comic threads the result may have been different. Neat comic, but this is this the wrong thread for it.
  14. RI Comic Con Exclusive variant cover of TMNT New Animated Adventures is available on their website now. It's by local artist Ian Chase Nichols who runs Fat Cat Funnies (also on Facebook). Get it here: http://www.ricomiccon.com/#!store/cwd3
  15. I just call them all "alternative" printings. Then nobody can get super nerdy and argue with me about definitions.
  16. Here's the Firestorm #2. I didn't even realize it was a variant. I thought they all had them.
  17. I think you're right. The math was probably a no-brainer. "Let's see, there's 31 million girls in the U.S. age 14 and younger. How many Flash comic book fans are there again? Hmm...yeah, ok...we're gonna go with cute." Don't forget Arrow is a CW show. Young, good looking, trendy are their priorities when casting anything.
  18. New England Comics Newsletter #14 will be for sale at San Diego next week. If somebody is going they should check it out at the NEC booth. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151787852981264&set=a.397773031263.196118.383491586263&type=1&theater
  19. Wowza! Brand new to me. What's on the insides, if I may ask? Sent to shops and distributers perhaps? Great stuff!
  20. It looks like that art was used for the Edge v2 Premiere ashcan and acted as the preliminary for the regular issue 's full color finishes of airbrush/paint/marker/color pencil/pasteup. Can't wait to see the rest. Edge was my favorite book.
  21. I always wonder what the color books would have been like from a printing standpoint. Everything was printed pretty cheaply as it was and the only examples of a GMC color book, "I" Come in Peace, were truly a mess on the production side.
  22. I believe it's the reprint that came with the Marvel Legends action figure. Packaged with the figure might go for $30-40. Maybe $10-15 by itself.
