  1. Also, if someone wants to make me a reasonable cash offer, I'll consider it...I don't want to take a loss on the book but I am in need of money.
  2. I am in need of funds for a school bill so my somewhat recently acquired Albedo 2 needs to go up for sale. As always I'm putting it on the boards before eBay. It's an 8.5 CGC with White pages. $750 shipped. If I don't get any responses, I'll have to toss it on eBay. So, message me!
  3. Kudos to SupaPimp for his delivery of a signed + sketched Usagi Yojombi TPB.
  4. Its a phony for anyone who doesnt already know. Its graded a 9.4 by PGX. See their gallery for proof. Oh, and Deathlok had nothing to do with it. Personally, I find it hilarious that you couldn't tell that from the picture. Desire blinds, I guess.
  5. Holy Krap...$260 for a 9.6 Joe #21 , over $100 for a copy of #24 in 9.6, $61.00 for a copy of #23 in 9.6 Unreal prices for junk 80's comics. Didn't you leave?
  6. Not mine. I ended up being outbid on the floor by $50 on two seperate auctions. I seriously thought I put in high enough bids but apparently not.
  7. Actually, I just reread the auction and it's missing a 3" X 1/2" piece from the back cover! IMO, it's more of a GD/GD+ with that. Missed that the first time.
  8. There's a March of Comics # 20 on eBay right now. The seller is calling it a VG/VG+. I'd probably call it a solid VG or VG-.
  9. In order: Four Color 178 (8.0+) Walt Disney Comics and Stories 31 (7.0+) Four Color 386 (8.0+) Four Color 199 (8.5+) Four Color 308 (9.0 copy)
  10. That's an unbelievablely clean looking copy. Is that damage production related on the upper left hand corner? Is that one of the 8.5s? Thanks for the luck on the 178. I have a feeling I won't be able to pick it up and it'll go for 2x guide, but we'll see. I'm willing to pay at least 1.5x guide for it. If it gets out of hand, there are a few other books in that signature auction I might go for but the 178 is my grail.
  11. So, yeah, I'm trying to win that FC 178 on Heritage so no one bid on it. Seriously, it's my # 1 grail and I've finally paid for my books this semester and my family was more than generous this holiday season! I've even sold off a bunch of stuff to come up with the cash that I hope ends up being enough. I never see a nice copy of this book come up. I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season, whichever religion you choose (or not) to celebrate!
  12. Hmm...maybe these books are a tad rarer than I thought.
  13. I'll have to look around for my copy! I don't remember reading that but you may be correct.
  14. whats the grade? 8.0 White. I still think it should have been an 8.5.
  15. I just double checked: "A second printing of the comic book [referring to issue 1] went to the printers and sold out its print run of 15,000 copies, and was followed shortly by a third printing that sold out its run of 35,000 issues!" This is from ninjaturtles.com and it agrees with my memory. That's not to say the site and I are not wrong and that ninjaturtles.com isn't referencing the same source that I remember (which could have been wrong!).
  16. Issue 1 had a print run of 3,000. The second printing had a run of 10,000 and the third printing had a run of 35,000, I believe. I know quite a few people, including Laird and Eastman, cut up some of the original print run to make ads and whatnot. One dealer from Mass. claims to have cut up more than a few issues of the first print run to help with advertising. That, coupled with the fact it has a black cover like so many 1st print independent books , makes it kind of difficult to find in high grade. I think the 2nd issue had a print run of about 40,000? And it escalated from there to about 125,000 per issue.
  17. It's the reason I've temporarily stopped looking at Duck books. Duck books in 8.0+ are routinely going for 4-6x guide...
  18. Large feature 16 is the first appearance of Daisy Duck, no? One sold on ebay in Fair condition (maybe poor...) recently for maybe $500?
  19. Thanks! It looks a bit nicer than a 7.0, IMHO, but PGX has a reputation for grading GA books as MA ones...probably the way it should be. I could crack it and sent it to CGC but I probably won't.
  20. If anyone has a 199 in 6.0-7.0 that they simply can't stand having around anymore let me know. *cough* ahem. Anyway, 199 is probably the consensus best cover of the high-dollar duck books, no? It's certainly one of my favs and I've been looking for a decent upper mid-range copy for a while.
  21. Hah! Not bad... Leaves us poorer duck collectors in the dust. Here's a book I just picked up relatively cheap on ebay (PGX 7.0):
  22. See the 9.0 WDCS # 69 on eBay now is probably one of my favorite overall Duck books (and my fav. cover)...but paying 3-4 times guide seems too insane IMO. Eh, we'll see... My major concern is that this issue is much more common than the census indicates and that there will be more graded in the future (making a high dollar purchase less and less enticing). AWESOME BOOKS, btw hkp.
  23. Issue 60 and on...maybe I'm way off base here. I know chronologically they are still fairly early in the mid-to-late 40s...
