  1. That's evil Bronty Those CVM did have the most drunken prices, And the shops in Brisbane did price the back issues based on their values listed. Bad for collectors buying but great for 1st year working guy like me hoarding new issue multiples and getting half price trade to buy my monthly pull lists flipping Green Lantern 1's Emerald dawn 1's, Ghost rider 1's ect.
  2. Good luck in acquiring one great story. I did have one but sold it and I miss it so I need get a FF 27 myself
  3. That's a nice yellow cover there. So you have Fantastic four 27 ? that may have came out a few months earlier with Dr Strange Is it me or is Doctor Strange getting more and more popular. Well more popular then before
  4. You mention the late pricing on the Overstreet. But does anyone remember Comic Values Monthly ? The shops in Brisbane use them as the prices listed for books modern to the silver age were way higher and the CVM as the title states was published monthly. Any hot modern books were priced higher very quickly as what was possible in printed format. I don't have the magazine now as I tossed it years ago. But maybe someone out there maybe still has copies thru this period.
  5. This book I did not pick up this week but 6 to 8 weeks ago and I only started posting here 2 weeks ago but I'm still very happy to have picked this book up after waiting a long time for a more affordable pedigree of this issue in this grade to come to market. I've been trying to put together a pedigree run of TTA 59 - 101 since 2005. Anyway I'm still happy to have snag this key. Funny thing is, though I like the Hulk and Surfer I'm more of a Sub-mariner fan.
  6. IG is good by itself, Thanos quest is a good prelude on how he got the infinity gems, And Silver Surfer 34 -59 To enjoy the ride we had back in the 90's. I don't have the books anymore I sold 98% of my collection 2 months ago and only have 230 books I decided to keep. It would be very informative if someone has the books and can post a order for the above books to be read in, I think this would be great for new people discovering this amazing story for the first time. thanks :-)
  7. Wow now I see the R Heath, Damn you got good eyes, had the book for 7 years and did not see it, getting old I am
  8. You guys might be right, This is the only war comic I have. I bought it thinking it was Everett as it is noted in Overstreet. But I also picked it up because I thought it was a cool cover and it's a river city copy and I love getting pedigrees raw sometimes to read and enjoy them. I've done it with TTA Boston's then sent them in later for certification.
  9. That's a nice book, The colours are darker then mine, Cool
  10. This thread as ran with a life of it's own. Out of all the books in the 90's IG series is in the top ten to read.
  11. I agree to some parts. The investors will start to sell their books. And It will be over a longer period say 24 months. You may get a drop say 30% but not a major plunge. You will have the core collectors who love the series holding on to their books. The two years after cancellation of the show it may cool where the books go slightly cheaper then 30% at auction. But remember there is a small print run. The books are not going to drop over 50% as there would be hard core fans to buy in bringing the price up. Then in another 15 years the book will experience a resurgence. It happened with TMNT in the 80's The book was hot the price went up and when it cooled down the price did not drop as much because of the low print run. Now they are hot and when one in high grade comes to auction well you can see the result. This is just my opinion and I have never read a Walking Dead comic but love the television show and I've been watching it from the start.
  12. Here is a copy of Battlefield #8, Just love Bill Everett cover art.
  13. Sorry for the photo not being too good. A signed Silver Surfer 50 by Ron Lim with date 91 on the cover.
  14. To me it was the best major event from one of the big publishers. The first was the two issue prestige format Thanos quest. Then the prelude in Silver Surfer from issue 34 up. To the main event in Infinity Gauntlet. The one series I eagerly waited with anticipation for the next issue to be released. I even bought the t-shirt that had the artwork of issue one of the cover. And I even scored this advertising poster from my LCS at the time. Still have it but a bit worse for wear I'm afraid. Must have been 18 when this series came out. So long ago. Favourite parts when Warlock sends in the heroes knowing they were 100% doomed just to distract thanos so Silver Surfer could swoop in and steal the gauntlet. The fact that thanos was so powerful he had Mephisto as a lackey/henchman. Here is a pic of the comic shop advertising poster.
  15. Here is a cover that I was chasing for many years and manage to pick one up not that long ago. Being an Australian I just had to have this Alex Schomburg cover of a Australian Anzac with the flag and map of Australia in the back ground. And a small kangaroo on the cover as well. And inside there is a quick 6 page story of the first settlers and colony in Australia. Best thing Is the book is not chased after so had no trouble with any competing collectors just trouble in trying to find a copy.
  16. Thanks guys, Yes the cover is still attached, though I still think it's 1.8. But I like it.
  17. Cool I love those TTA monster books. I need to get more, the covers are so fantastic but they are so uncommon to find. Nice pick up.
  18. Hi everyone, I want in, to your marvel monster Fin Fang Foom club. A low grade 1.8 raw but very much loved and read copy, Bought this book at my local comic store a couple years ago in Brisbane Australia.
  19. Wow thanks for the links and the information. Then the covers offered to me were fakes and that would have been quite costly to me.
  20. They were the 4 original painted covers from the batman the cult series. The dealer who bought them in 1990 had a shop in Brisbane at the time. And it was around this time he had them in his shop for show. He sold the shop about 10 years ago but still had them. It may have been longer then 4 years ago when I had the opportunity to buy them. If you know someone that has 2 covers I may have to find out the guy who offered the covers to me still has them. I know at the time he had signed documentation that they were the original. Yes the price he wanted was 7 k for the 4. At the time I was contemplating in going halves with another local comic shop dealer.
  21. I'm new to collecting original art as my focus has always been the books themselves. The only piece I have is a panel page from Marvel comics presents from 90's with my favourite character the Sub-mariner. But my question is back in the early 90's I enjoyed the batman the cult series. And about 4 years ago I had the opportunity to buy the 4 painted covers by Bernie Wrightson off a past comic dealer. He had bought them just after the Batman craze of the first movie. The covers came with signed paper identifying them from the artist at the time. I did decline as the cost for the 4 covers was 7k. Would this had been a reasonable price ? I did like the cover artwork. And I know the owner still has the artwork still.
  22. I did have 15 short boxes, started collecting in 1987 then stop around 1995, then started up again in 2005 but sold off the collection 2 months ago as I'm moving to another country next year so I'm left with 230 comic books. Kept high grade books, pedigrees, keys and books that had sentimental value to me.
