  1. I'm not sure I see a problem here with what the customer did. He is free to take his business elsewhere, and the shop owner is free to let him go as well. From how you describe it, it sounds like the "request" was made respectfully, and a sale was carried out (at a slightly higher price than what was listed on Amazon). In that sense, I think this was a good situation. A sale is a sale, and a small profit is better than no profit. If anyone is to feel bad for the shop owner, feel bad not because of the customer, but because of the changing times that have driven down pricing for all comic buyers (great for the customers, bad for the shop owners). Competition, whether it is from Amazon, eBay, etc., has really taken a big chunk out of the business from your LCS. But, this is nothing new. They will need to continue to adapt, continue to provide great customer service, continue to provide a great in-person customer experience... or slowly go out of business. It's just a result of the changing times.
  2. Is it cliché to have a Halloween discount? You bet! And that's exactly what I'm going to do. All Round 5 books (the Newsstands) are now 20% off!
  3. I'm going to be blunt here to try to save you some hassle. Those are clearly NOT 9.8 copies, especially when you state that the indentation goes completely through the back cover in many case.. It's not worth your time (or theirs) to contact CGC. Those aren't manufacturer flaws. All I see is damage to the back cover, which will drop you down a grade or two. On top of this, even if you did manage to have 9.8 copies (again, I contest that you do not), IMO it's still not worth the time or effort to grade these. Say you bring in $75 shipped on eBay for the book (recent eBay sales range from $50-100 shipped), it will cost you ~$15 to ship, ~$8 eBay fees, ~$3 PayPal fees. That knocks you down to $50 even before the cost of grading. What does it cost to grade Moderns these days? With a press? Is this worth the gamble to submit the books to make $10-20. Again, this assumes you are getting 9.8s, are able to maintain a favorable sales price, and have all hassle free sales on eBay. One 9.6 grade coming back to you derails the whole lot, as you're essentially eating that book and all the costs that come with it. Bottom line... sell them raw and disclose the damage on the back cover.
  4. And that’s all I have for now. Thanks for looking! If this is even mildly successful, I’ll pull many more newsstands out of my collection to post for sale here.
  5. Let’s end with some original Old Man Logan issues... $8 - Wolverine (2003) #67 Newsstand VF
  6. These next two Civil War tie-in books have some really beautiful dark blues compared to their Direct Edition counterparts. Get these at a penny over cover price! $3 - Wolverine (2003) #45 Newsstand Fine
  7. OK, I swear… this is the last Deadpool book of the round. Afterall, this isn’t a Deadpool sales thread, it should be all about Wolverine. $25 - Wolverine (1988) #154 (Copy C) Newsstand NM+
  8. What’s this… another copy featuring Deadpool? $25 - Wolverine (1988) #154 (Copy B) SOLD! Newsstand NM+
  9. More Deadpool, the cash cow for many a dealer... $20 - Wolverine (1988) #154 (Copy A) Newsstand NM/NM+
  10. I normally pull in $5-7 each for any Direct Edition, Wolverine titled Apocalypse: The Twelve issues in VF/NM. I have a stack of Direct Editions, and I can say that these Newsstands are rather hard to come by, especially in this high of grade. $13 - Wolverine (1988) #146 (Copy A) Newsstand NM/NM+
  11. OK, I have some really high grade books coming up... And to start… Ugh, another one I had to scan the back cover. Again, you should really buy this, even if it’s just to make me feel better and help me justify the extra scan. $5 - Wolverine (1988) #90 Newsstand NM
  12. OK, that's about half of what I'll be posting. It's late, so I'll be calling it a night. I promise that tomorrow morning will bring some real quality newsstands. As a reminder, clicking on the images opens a new Window or Tab where you can zoom in at a higher resolution. Lastly, anyone looking to make any deals can shoot me over a PM. Offers are always welcome!
  13. Cool and shameless Gambit appearance. If the Gambit movie ever takes off, I’m raising the price of this one to $5.10. $5 - Wolverine (1988) #87 Newsstand NM
  14. Like the #75, barcode is on the back cover. Do you really want to dig through boxes and boxes of comics, taking each #85 out of the bag and board to find a Newsstand edition? Isn’t your time worth more than that? Get it here for cheap! $4 - Wolverine (1988) #85 Newsstand Foil VF
  15. $3 - Wolverine (1988) #84 Newsstand VF Ugh... missed the tear at the top... Let's make this FREE, just pay shipping So with this, I guess now is a good time to remind everyone and pump up my Flat Rate shipping. Buy 1 book or 1000... shipping stays flat at $6.75 (US buyers only). See the 1st Post for all finer details.
