  3. As is a common theme amongst many of these books, not only are ALL books listed IN HAND now... but the majority of what I have listed has been hand picked to get the best copies possible. All of the images are my own scans and not stock photos. In some cases, I may have multiple copies where I may sell a portion on other venues. Know that my BEST copies will always be listed here EXCLUSIVELY on these boards in this sales thread (and for cheaper prices too!). Any questions, feel free to ask or PM me.

  5. It's time for a serious C2E2 2019 sales thread. I didn't see anyone selling ECCC books last week, but you can always count on a couple of us Chicago guys to represent what this con has to offer. Afterall, all you boardies out there (or what's left of us) deserve this! This thread will have a large mix of books. I spent A LOT of money so far, mostly picking up exclusives. Everything listed in this thread is exclusive to the thread. I will denote when I have multiple copies if some of those copies are being offered elsewhere. There will be a pretty good selection of books, so hopefully this will satisfy everyone's needs. I'm happy to take requests for additional show exclusives, but note that I won't be back at the show until late on Saturday (to make the annual charity auction). If something is sold out before that point, I doubt I'll be able to get my hands on it. Terms: First unconditional by timestamp wins, whether in the thread or in PM. I will post the timestamp of any winning PM should a conflict arise. I will absolutely NOT sell to anyone on probation or on the HOS list. I reserve the right to withhold sales to any member currently being discussed in the probation thread. Payment: PayPal, Chase QuickPay, Money Orders, Cashier's Checks, and Personal Checks all accepted. I wait 10 days for any form of paper payment to clear. Shipping: Priority Mail Shipping to the US is a flat $7. International shipping is at cost. I generally ship within 2 business days of receipt of payment. Local pickup in the Chicagoland area, but you have to come towards me. (Southwest suburbs) Returns: Returns on RAW books are accepted within a 10 day period of delivery. Returns on CGC graded books are only accepted if they arrive damaged.
  6. Because I like making things difficult... Sounds like your $100 actually stretches out to $115 to me... but you still gotta subtract $1.50 shipping (unless you are outside the US) and the part about taxes is cut off. Don't forget that you need to snail mail a check or money order to the dealer... what was the price of a stamp in 1982?
  7. If you don't mind reboots, Legacy numbering, title changes, All-New Legacy numbering, reverting back to the original title names, and numbering consolidation between unrelated books and minis... You'll probably hit your 275 issues like the 1st series.
  8. Well, to your point, we've had several decades of decline in the avenues in which buyers (and potential buyers, short and longterm) could access these products. How has that worked out in the long run? Do we think that readership has increased over the last several decades? Do we think that reducing the number of channels is a good long term move? Or, has this been a contributor to the decline that the OP is alluding to needing to be "saved"? With a proper partnership and actual support from the comic companies and Diamond, I don't think the LCS is going to go away any time soon. But to have the Marvel's and DC's of the world pre-emptively make moves to kill their biggest promoters... that's not something that will ensure the longevity of the medium.
  9. You mean the LCS? The one entity that has put up with ALL the BS that comes with comic distribution, yet still does everything to promote the hobby? Sorry, reducing your distribution channels to the masses is not a recipe for long term success IMO.
  10. Considering that two shipments will be more expensive, I'd go with one big box containing multiple smaller boxes inside. I've done this before through UPS Ground. No issues, but I did make sure to get a sturdy outside box and reinforced the walls and base with extra cardboard. The buyer said there were no issues on his end when he received the books.
  11. Your numbers may be off by a decimal point.
  12. Sweet artwork... but that holder looks rather odd and unsanctioned.
  13. I always get excited for additional local comic shows in my area. But, I have a hard time paying $20 admission for two days or $35 admission for 2 days and 3 hours. Where is my 1-Day pass option? I'm still on the fence about this one.
  14. Just out of curiosity, what do you think gives that away as a fake?
  15. Amazing Fantasy is my go-to store. The owner is a great guy, and they have a number of shops in the southwest side (Frankfort, Tinley, Lockport).
  16. There were zero back issues until maybe a month or two before they closed, and the selection at that time was sparse (I'd estimate about 200 random issues in total). I thought the Woodridge location had potential. It was nice having a shop in the area, and it was located in (what seemed like) a decent location. Graham Crackers was still about a 20 minute drive away. If a comic shop is run the right way, I think the area could support it. When the Woodridge shop was closing, they had a big 50% off closeout sale. However, most of the stock was already shipped out of that store to the other two locations. I'm not saying that that's what is going to happen here, but the contents of the store today may not be the same as the contents of the store upon the keys being turned over.
  17. This is a bit of a sore subject around these parts of the boards. If the book is older than the arbitrarily set time period of 6 months, you're not supposed to call them ads anymore. At that point, we've been instructed to call them reference materials.
  18. Paging @Cpt Kirk... I think he's the right guy for this question at least.
  19. This sounds exactly like what I was doing when suggesting that there was a time component involved in valuations for modern books. Your original post asked me to further explain, which I did. You then proceed to tell me in multiple posts how wrong I am and how irrelevant the arguments were... all the while, ignoring the fact that your own arguments were just as irrelevant. There is a saying somewhere about it taking two to tango. And yet here you are, replying yet again to teach me a lesson of some sort. Wisdom that applies to others, but apparently doesn't apply to your own determination to continue to derail a thread. If you really, truly cared about not taking the topic off course, you would send me a PM. But clearly, you love the spectacle that you've had a hand in creating.
