  1. Oh boy - please tell me we aren't going to get Police Officer rants again. Look how well that ended last time.... I would have hoped that the "offender" had learnt from the last debacle. Hopefully, this is just a mis-understanding.
  2. My point in referring to the SC22 sale four months before Green Lantern's theatrical release was that that price was buoyed by movie hype (apparently). Prices softened on SC22 only *after* the movie came out and blew big time. I see the same hype happening here but 4 years ahead of JLA's movie release instead of 4 months. Some desperately want to pick up a copy of BB28 before prices go even higher. But what makes anyone think prices will go higher? Again, it doesn't make sense that it should be worth more than a pre-movie hype SC22 when both are just as hard to find in grade (SC22 even moreso) and with GL being arguably just as, if not more, popular than JLA. IMO, What people need to ask about this book is whether they think it's worth more than SC22 at this point. To me, the answer is a resounding no. A good JLA movie is far, far, far from a given. By way of comparison, the TTA27 hype train seems to have screeched to a halt because I suspect people are asking themselves, Do I want to pay JIM83 prices for Antman? TBH - I suspect its more to do with the first appearance of Ant-man in costume growing rapidly in price. The market may be speaking about the relevancy of TTA #27 vs TTA #35 I don't have either sadly.........
  3. you must not be married! + 1,000,000! When the Australia Post van pulls up outside the door, I try to calculate how quickly I can unpack the box and hide the contents!
  4. What happened Harvey? Giving up on the dream? DD#1 Refocusing the collection on books I always wanted as a kid! Still love Revival though! Good call Harvey - as most people know, Ryan and myself always spend our modern earnings on sweet SA books. I collect 1st appearances - so DD #1 is right on my radar as well (thumbs u
  5. Gator - it's been 2 years now - I am still looking for a 7.5+ World's finest comic #3 Will it ever happen, and will my children produce 9 offspring? The first part is optional.
  6. A 'normal' #1 is going for upto $8-$10 now. I believe Midtown is sold out. RRP's - I think you will do well to get one in ANY condition.
  7. Yeah - the profit is everywhere there Lawrence - 5 boxes of unboarded books thrown in a heap. I'm rushing to your website to buy all those NM copies right this minute...... Apparently when Andy buys cases from Diamond they come pre screened & shipped in mylars... Just messin with you Larry - I realise that's all Diamonds fault (thumbs u
  8. Yeah - for most moderns. I don't know if speculators are dropping out, or there are less lurkers, but even the Walking Dead isn't immune. Conversely though - The right GA/SA/BA books are soaring. I turn over my modern sales into SA purchases - so the lack of modern buyers atm is causing me to miss some really nice books... It really pays to do your homework before committing to a title in any quantity. Revival is selling for $23? In what world does that make sense?
  9. Yeah - that's what threw me Eric - took a couple of listings to get the price I wanted.
  10. Really surprised #7 isn't getting more love from buyers - struggled to get rid of mine for 9.8 GPA
  11. I think all these groups are going to tie into where they are taking the show. They will be 'units' in Ricks (and hopefully Abe/Rosita's) Army. You know the one I keep going on about... I really think the show is heading into 'fightback' mode - and Kirkman is paving the way via the comic 'format'. I really hope so. I still really hope Michelle Rodruigez is cast. I know shes got 261 DUI's and is totally gay - but that is one kick-butt chick!
  12. Hold - that goes for the 'regular' versions as well. Limited variants and a strong and growing readership - the 6 month rule is FIRMLY in play here.
  13. 300 copies sound great. I wonder how many others (just like Nowhere Men) got printed for the Publisher and "friends" We all saw the $800 copies sink to $250 in a month. Lets hope it doesn't happen again. BTW - where is CBT? He's normally all over this like a rash - wrist slap? Anyhow - buyer beware.
  14. Yeah - the profit is everywhere there Lawrence - 5 boxes of unboarded books thrown in a heap. I'm rushing to your website to buy all those NM copies right this minute......
  15. OOOh - today could be the day!! Prices imploding on ebay - the Modern forum is awash with low priced sales
  16. Per your suggestion (thumbs u That is awesome - if I was you, I'd be working something out with Kirkman and Moore... If that ever hit the stores you would be a wealthy man. Congrats man, that is brilliant!
  17. Thanks guys - exactly the info I needed (thumbs u
  18. I have seen some fantastic "man-caves" and comic rooms on here - kudos to you all. Some posters have recommended LED lighting. My 'cave' will have no external light (unless I want it) so I was hoping that some of you guys could suggest the best artificial lighting to protect my comics. Any suggestions appreciated (regarding lights.. ) Thanks
  19. Strangers - Its a book about people who apparently have a killing hand (as in - on the end of their arm) that isn't theirs - that's all I know. I was hoping that someone would know more - we are in the same boat mate - I have one on order at my LCS - so I should get it in 2014 Sex was that bad? I was happy to give it another issue but it is Joe Casey........ Congrats on your selling thread btw (hint - go look hint hint) you are selling seriously good books at seriously cheap prices! Helheim - I read somewhere its going to be a "series" of 5-6 issues per arc - is this correct? Cheers mate
  20. I still say Sex is a fun read. Take out the "sex"and there is still a cool story there. I thought the first issue had promise - I agree, 'Sex' is a daft name - anyway, I have slabbed a couple so I look forward to where this book goes. I have to say though - Joe Casey can kinda be, well, disinterested after a few issues. Hope he stays the course to at least do 10+ issues.
  21. You recommend it? I must admit the cover put me off for some reason - maybe a bit Spiderman-ish. Is the story ok? ya I enjoyed it, #2 is out real soon and I hope it continues to be good.....this may be a keeper.....for me anyways. I only have 10 of them, with one being my reader so lets see where it goes. Ok thankyou - I will pick up #1 and give it a read. Cheers (thumbs u
  22. Would Quicksilver's role in Avengers 2 dim the glow of any Flash movie? Only if Marvel does a better job portraying the character and his super-speed powers. IMHO that is . . . Then X-Men #4 would be the one to get? If you add in The Scarlet Witch and Magnetos 2nd appearance then that's a whole lotta bang for you buck. Is X-Men #4 really that lesser than FF #48? Maybe the SS getting his own run - but, (and I have no idea) who has the most SA Marvel appearances: Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Magneto or Silver Surfer and Galactus? Either way, I certainly think that X-Men #4 is a book certain to rise. I wish I had a better grade than I do!
  23. Dude - you got my back - I would be so gutted to lose a minus point! Lets take 0.5 each! Seriously - the moderation could just be a little more...lax than it is at the moment?
