  1. I saw the movie a couple days ago and enjoyed it. From the trailers and the discussion, I had an idea of what to expect and was neither blown away nor disappointed. I'd see it again if I had the chance and I'll definitely add it to the collection when it gets released on Blu-ray. I'd also certainly be willing to pony up for a version that included a finished Director's Cut of the movie, just to see Snyder's vision as intended. I never saw the theatrical version of BvS, but I did pick up the Ultimate Edition and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it.
  2. "Darth Emo" Instead of Force Choke, he throws Temper Tantrums.
  3. Wonder how much this contributed to The Inhumans fiasco and the seeming drop in quality in the Netflix series from Daredevil S1 to The Defenders (haven't seen Punisher yet).
  4. Saw it on Monday and thought it was great. Very well done, enjoyed it from start to finish.
  5. Great review. The ideas you had for increasing the difference in this vs. the Dark Phoenix version were very good, especially using water as the base. Would have been a better contrast between the Dark version, I think. I got the Dark Phoenix and had to send the first one back because of a broken flame tip on the base. I also encountered that strong paint smell when opening both boxes. It's like they put it in wet or painted it in Styrofoam. Having said that, it's a phenomenal looking statue and I absolutely love it. The base is solid and heavy so I don't think it's going anywhere. The figure itself is incredible as are the portraits. Hands down, one of my absolute favorites from Sideshow.
  6. WOW! They've already decided they're going to make another one after this?
  7. The comedy in Thor works for me because Marvel has included such elements in many of its movies, starting in the beginning with Iron Man, between The Hulk and Thor & Loki in the Avengers, and others in general like Ant-Man and the Guardians movies (I & II). It doesn't quite work for me in what I've seen of the trailers because I don't remember many (any?) such elements in the previous DC pictures not named Wonder Woman -- i.e. MoS, BvS. It feels tacked on and not an organic part of the story, but I'm willing to keep an open mind and maybe it works better in the context of the overall movie. With regard to Jason Momoa's portrayal of Aquaman -- I've never been much of a DC reader other than the occasional Batman story arc, but is this how he is in the comics? It looks like they're setting him up to be DC's version of Wolverine -- loner type, kicks and takes names, all action, crazy, laughs in the face of danger, takes on all comers, fearless/reckless, not a team player, etc. Not exactly what I pictured the heir of Atlantis to be.
  8. Watched both episodes on DVR and enjoy it so far. Much better than I expected. Like the story and cast interaction. The ring tone easter egg was a nice surprise and I hope they're able to do more little things like that throughout the series. Couple things stretched believability for me, but I'm willing to overlook them for the sake of the story Even still, it's interesting and good enough to keep me watching for the rest of the season.
  9. Not a fan of horror in general. Probably take a pass on this one.
  10. Sad to hear this. Condolences to his family.
  11. Congratulations! The store looks fantastic! I've really enjoyed reading your journey from idea all the way through to realization. I wish you nothing but success and hope it becomes everything you thought it'd be and more.
  12. While you've got the book out for grading, I'd recommend taking scans/pics of any of the keys in the collection. This way you can send some of those, along with the list, to give interested parties a better idea of what they'd be getting.
  13. Fellow first-timer here too and I had a blast. Huge thanks to thirdgreenham and sckao for the effort in putting this together.
  14. Looks interesting enough so far to give it a watch. Long time fan of the X-Men, so I understand the majority of the characters' names, abilities, and whatnot, but I can't figure out what the kid is supposed to do. Is he TK like his sister or Magnetic like Polaris or something else?
  15. Looks good. I like it. What's that thing hanging off the side of his hip? I'm guessing it's just the mold used to make the "scars" around his eyes. At first I thought it was going to be CGI too for his cybernetic eye and my first thought was "They're putting it on the wrong side!" Thankfully, that's not the case (according to the photos).
  16. I think this might help https://www.cgccomics.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=4084
  17. Very Cool! (and the room ain't too shabby either)
  18. Ugh. Every time I hear that the first thing that comes to mind are those awful Twilight movies and the last Fantastic Four. . . "Now with Mutants!"
  19. Just wait until they start offering the variants. . . .
