Needs a c&p I know but dug it out of a box the other day and only cost 50p

As a young lad I used to get Half a crown (2 shillings and sixpence) pocket money on a Thursday night, which was my fathers payday. This would allow me to buy 3 x 8p comics from various newsagents as I rode around every Saturday morning trying to find what I wanted and I would have 6p left over Shortly the price rose to 9p so I had 3p left and when the price went up to 10p I was just happy to have collected 3 more comics. Memories EH!

Yes I probably was a tad over optimistic with grade As for price this has been in my collection since the late 70’s early 80's so not that much at all

I’m guessing 4.0 or 5.0 how did I do ?

Only lower/mid grade but opinions most welcome and to how much writing on cover and page 10 effects grade .

I do struggle with getting a really close grade with these lower/mid grade comics so all comment welcome. Despite obvious wear and tear/dirt etc, staples are really nice and clean and firm. The top right hand corner is just camera flash (I think) the book looks normal in hand

2nd post of the night so sorry about that, all comments most welcome. As with x-men 20 would a clean and press make any noticeable difference or improvement on grade I appreciate c&p wont do anything about colour breaks/wear and tear etc.

Actually guys I would also like if you could, your opinions on how much the non colour breaking bend (from storage without a backing board....DUH) by the spine lowers the grade.

Thanks very much for ALL the replies guys. Yes it was sending to USA from across the pond in postage and pressing costs that I was taking into consideration depending on grade potential. It’s been in my collection for over 40 years so cost of book would have been minimal so that’s a plus factor. Cheers 👍

I would be delighted with that high a grade but with wear as you say, spine ticks, some corners etc I would say less 😢
