I have a better one. Which considering that there are just 3 currently known copies graded higher, 2 9.4s and a 9.6, it might make mine an equal best copy (or best in grade)

Sent this off for a c&p and slabbing before I Ebay it. What grade do you think it is as presented ? I'm guessing possibly a 3.5 and maybe a 4.0 after a c&p. Will post the result when I eventually get the slab back.

Does grading depend on what mood a grader is in when they get a comic ? I count 7 ticks that break colour on the spine of this, plus that bottom left corner looks very iffy, but yet this book still got a 9.2

Ofc I've seen it in person, bought them both for $100 each 20 years ago. Never bothered taking either of them out of the bags though, simply stored them away in a box with the rest of my high grade LSH collection. Upon recently seeing the 9.0 and above price of this particular issue now I wouldn't want to remove them from their bags either as I wouldn't want to risk putting them back without damaging the books in some way since according to the census there are only 5 known copies of this book in 9.2 or above or 7 copies higher than 8.5, which would imo make this key issue incredibly scarce in high grade. If anyone wants to have a go at grading the cover at least, even though it's in a bag, feel free to do so.

Not the best pic to go on as I don't have the comic with me since I sent it to a friend in the USA who'll be able to send if for a c&p and slabbing, but wondering what this might be before its c&p. Not got a back cover pic handy so you'll have to base any estimate on the f cover only. Also got a 2nd one of this in similar condition.

Original posting, like many other events in life, always shows just how frail human life is and just how quickly it passes by. How different the world would be if we could all just respect everything else and live in peace. I myself came from a poor, broken family. Endured 4 years with a violent, alcoholic, schizophrenic stepfather, et al, but none of it made me go out on the streets using drugs, getting into crime or shooting people up. Never understand why judges accept it all as an excuse. Peace Amen.

Also got an issue where part of the issue number is missing altogether because the cover wasn't printed long enough in width at the front. The comic hasn't been trimmed as I've compared it against another copy of exactly the same issue number.

I have an Action Comics 288 where the bottom staple has not gone through quite a number of the pages. I have checked these loosely fitting pages and they are devoid of any holes where the bottom staple should be. Yet the bottom staple is intact and holds together some of the pages as intended. How is this caused ?
