  1. All New 9 Apparent FN-/FN great looking book but the interior has been glued to the cover at the spine, you can't open it all the way as the glue goes in about 3/8", last pic shows that I hope, great cover, shame on the glue. $350
  2. Rules: PMs are welcome but in the thread win Postage on comics is $6.00 for raw, $15.00 for Slabs in the US. Outside the US you pay exact postage whatever that is. Paypal/Check/MO If you can't pay within 3 days then please don't buy unless we have worked it out beforehand and I've done that several times; just communicate please. Assume the slabbed books have been pressed No returns on slabbed books unless I screwed up somehow. If you are a HOSer or on probation or on ignore I won't sell to you.
  3. My MFT were received on 11/8 STILL sitting on Received. I called and was told they are just today verifying books received on 11/8. Really? I want my money back for the fast track. UPDATE: I received a message that they are on it. Thank you customer service.
  4. Bought a couple of books from Mike and they really arrived quicker than I thought. Super packing as well. Thanks Again!!
  5. I've seen several blue labels that say small amount of glue on cover but never one that says "restoration includes". ?
  6. Finally picked up a copy of one of only a handful of precodes I've never owned before. Check out the label. Screwup by CGC?
  7. Its been a long hunt but I finally upgraded.
  8. As I said before, if the purpose of nominating someone for the PL is to force a transaction to take place then I believe priorities are misplaced. When I sell someone a book, I will take a return within a reasonable amount of time if the book is in the same condition for any reason. I've done it that way for 30 years; its just a business practice I believe in. What is to stop Xela from going ahead and buying the books to stay off the list and then returning the books. And don't suggest he has to keep them no matter what; that's not right either. I choose not to get into that possibility and I choose not to do business with someone who has been rude, dismissive, and disrespectful to me. Maybe in time people grow up and change their ways; but not today. Either he deserves to be on the list or not for his actions, but don't put this back on me because I now won't sell to him. I just fail to believe that is what the spirit of the PL is all about. If it is then this whole this has been a waste of time and energy.
  9. Done and done, thanks for pointing that out.
  10. I'm open to whatever you guys decide. I won't complete the deal with him even if that makes all of this moot. I just won't deal with people like that so I'm not sure what is fair? And I apologize for going off on you, I'm a little frustrated and perhaps took it out on you. I thought about send you a PM but I did it in public so I apologize in public.
  11. It makes NO difference whether I said WILL be or COULD be; an after that is binding not conditionary. If you can't see that then posting PMs makes no difference. All it does is make me question what you think is binding and wonder whether I should do business with you in the future. Having said that, if someone can explain how to post all of the PMs other that a lot of cut and paste, I'll do that when I return in a couple of hours. Just because I'm asking that you post PMs, suddenly you don't want to do business with me? You misread it. Has nothing to do with you asking for PMs. Has to do with you not being able to see any diff. whether I said WILL be or COULD be; an after that is binding not conditionary. I haven't post PMs yet because I wasn't sure how and because someone suggested at the very 1st to 'lay out my case and post PMs later". Here they are: And when I sent the obligatory PM:

  13. This is the foundation of my earlier comments about pursuit of the PL being a "hard- line" to take in this situation. I was never arguing that buyers should be held to lower standards, in general. I believe buyers should go above and beyond to honor their commitments, just as sellers should. I'm just in the camp that thinks there was some misunderstanding here, which I tend to give benefit of the doubt on... I thought your earlier point was, at least partly, that sellers ought to think through whether they really want to use the PL mechanism to force a sale on a recalitrant buyer. I think the way the PL works, sellers should only pursue that course if they are certain they still want to sell the book to the buyer should the buyer change his mind and agree to complete the transaction. Well, if that is the criteria then I guess this has been a waste of time. I'm pretty sure he won't be changing his mind and I certainly won't sell him anything at any price if he did. If nomination for the PL only exists to force transactions to be consummated then I misread its purpose. Sorry for wasting anyone's time.
  14. Well, we are not getting anywhere here. You are welcome to your opinion. There was clearly a deal and there was NO misunderstanding of costs when he said he would take it. There was no misunderstanding of any kind. Xela changed his mind and handled it very poorly and his actions since have only solidified my opinion of him. FYI; The insurance cost for the package was actually less than $3 of the cost, Priority Express International is automatically insured up to $200, the remainder of the insurance was less than $3 if I remember correctly, possibly $4, I'm not wasting anymore time on this to go back and check. As for your speculations and recreations on what might have been said in the actual PMs, I've already laid it out pretty succinctly and clearly. If you just gotta have it word for word for your own edification I'll be glad to send you every PM if I can figure out how to do that but it is just as I first laid it out. I appreciate everyone's time and opinions. At this point I guess everyone can make up their own mind
  15. I never said you were obstructing anything, it was your WTB thread and you agreed to purchase the books. So you are accusing me of extortion? Even after I told you what costs would probably be and you still said OK I'll take it. You were not GIVING me anything on shipping, I wasn't making a nickel on shipping. I gave you an estimated price that you agreed to, I then gave you package dimensions and weight to let you double check yourself. Then I gave you options. Your option was to back out of a deal in a rather rude manner. "For the sake of it"? In all the years I've been on the boards I've never nominated anyone for the PL. I don't even know you, but I do now.
  16. I am not usually involved in probation discussions and I do not have anything involved but I am not so sure this is probation list worthy. First the buyer politely backed out of the deal. Clearly resigned, but not reneged. They did not like the conditions of the sale. Second the deal was struck but the 2 parties could not agree to shipping terms. Finally the above quote does make a valid point as the buyer appears to have made more of an attempt to compromise than the seller. Perhaps a strike or two is in order for the buyer, but in all fairness I would limit it there. FYI The buyer did not politely back out of the deal, he said "I'll pass" no other explaination and refused to communicate anymore We did agree to shipping terms. I said the shipping would prob be $50-$60 and he said I'll take it. in that order. Finally, he made ZERO attempt to compromise, I have no idea where you are getting that from.
  17. I'm not trying to force Xela to make a deal. At this point I will not ever deal with him again, especially after his reply this morning to my informing him of the discussion here as I'm supposed to do. He replied: "lol You've hurt my feelings :\ " then removed himself from the topic. I would have had no problem just forgetting the whole thing and just blocking him from dealing with me if he had replied something like this: 'I'm sorry but I've decided the books and postage are more than I want to pay at this time, sorry for any inconvienance. I know I said I'd take them but after some thought I'd like to pass if that is OK with you', but I got nothing except "I'll pass" I accept 100% returns so it would have been really no different than that, still would not have had a deal. My contention is that he has offered no explaination, no apology, and has in fact been rude and cavalier in his attitude about the whole thing proven by his response this morning and his removal once again from the topic. This just demonstrates he did not have buyers remorse but is a person who is not to be trusted and very disrespectful of the time I spent scanning, PMing, looking up postage prices, and packing the books. I realize that is part of doing business but not after agreeing to buy the books. It was his WTB ad and he is the one to agree to purchase. You guys do what you want; I've blocked him from deals with me. I'm just trying to warn other people of the kind of person his actions have demonstrated he really is; maybe some time spent unable to do any transactions will help him grow up and realize that the way you treat people sometimes has consequences.
  18. i'm not sure posting PMs immediately is the way to go. lay out the facts and go from there. All right, here are the facts: Xela posted a WTB ad for a SSS 6, I sent a PM with pics of a CGC copy and a raw copy, $350 & $125 respectively. He asked if I would take $450 shipped to the UK. I replied I would do $450 but wouldn't pay postage to the UK as it could be $50-$60. I'd pay the 1st $20 and he would have to pay the rest. He replied that's OK and he would take them and sent his address. I replied back that after packing the books and checking on usps.com that shipping was $63 for Priority Express International insured for $400; so his total would be $493 He replied back that he wasn't sure how it came to $63 since another boardie had just sent him a slab and several raw books for $25. I sent him package dimensions and weight and said to check usps.com and LMK if I made a mistake and that I'd check again when I got home. I checked again and sent him the 3 quotes from usps: Priority Express Int w/insurance for $63; Priority Int w/certificate of mailing for $53; and 1st class w/certificate of mailing for $31. I said I can't be responsible for the latter 2 as they can only be insured for up to $70. It was his choice on shipping. He then replied that he would pass. No other explaination. I replied that he had already said he would take them AFTER I had said the postage would probably be in the $50-$60 range. He read that PM with no reply. I sent another PM asking if he always backed out of deals and wanted a response. He read it and removed himself from the topic. I realize it has not been 30 days but his actions have demonstrated he won't complete a transaction he agreed to. I'm also sending him a separate PM letting him know I've posted on here. Let me know if I've left anything out.
  19. Having never done this before, is this the thread where I post comments about a board person who agreed to purchase two books, agreed to the price, then said later I'll pass, read all my PMs after, then removed himself from the discussion? I have all the PMs etc but not sure what to post or where or how to do hyperlinks? Thanks for advice.
