  1. I like giving a gift card as an option, be it to amazon.com or another relevant vendor. I'd hope the person offering a gift card would be conscientious enough to offer a gift card that is in line with what they just claimed. But we all know that isn't often a realistic expectation, or we wouldn't have been having these discussions to fix the holes in the PIF thread to begin with.
  2. Did I give up to early on this show? I watched the first 3 episodes and I thought it was terrible.
  3. That WW statue is awesome, and I'm not even a fan of the character.
  4. Pretty much this. Activated carbon, as used for water filters, is the best method for absorbing odor. Remember once driving in my friends BMW and drove past some dead animal, he clicked the odor filter button and within seconds no more stench.
  5. Loose focus with the freedom to pick up something outside of the focus if it is really cool. I like small aggregates of associated pieces. . . I have a Wolverine and a Hulk that look like the cover to Incredible Hulk #181. Yeah, as much as I wish I could focus, I tend to agree. There's two reasons to buy a statue - how amazing the piece is itself, and how you feel about the character being portrayed. Sometimes a piece is so good, you almost don't care about who the character is. Exactly. My answer was based on a conversation I had with a long-time collector a few months back. When I had expressed my intent to focus on runs, he looked at me and said, "Focus can be a good thing, but what are you going to if a cool book outside of your focus comes up?" I really didn't have an answer, and so this hybridized version of my thought process came out of it. I feel the same about the statues. Like I said, I have a few right now, but when I saw the DC ones coming from Sideshow, I thought they made good choices for a group. Same with the TMNT statues. I'd just like to get the 4 Turtles. There are a few other groups I'd like to get. I think this way lends itself to an organizational system that not only makes sense, but puts a realistic expectation on myself that I can't have everything. . . but there are plenty of options for me to get a bunch of different groups and get statues that I like. Are new TMNT statues coming soon?
  6. Is this what that image is from originally? I used to have a Misfits shirt with this image on it. Nice work by the way. Well not exactly the same.
  7. This brings up a good point I was thinking about. Statues can be pretty damn expensive. Has there been, or are there currently, any really nice quality comic related toys/figures? Basically I'm talking about something that is relatively inexpensive and probably on the smaller side, made of plastic, but still looks highly detailed. I'd imagine probably something without any articulation or anything. Basically affordable mini-statues.
  8. Awesome collection thanks for sharing.
  9. I am, I've been eyeing this one for a while.
  10. Awesome stuff, looking forward to seeing some more.
  11. Thanks. Just getting started in the statue game, and these are pretty inexpensive but I think they look great. Hope some others will share some of their's sometime soon.
  12. Just started my statue collection not long ago with the Joker Killing Joke statue, finally added a Batman statue to go along with him. Joker is pleased. Hope to add some cool Marvel statues to the collection sometime in the future.
  13. Finally got around to watching the first 2 episodes. It's pretty lack luster. It's a shame, I can imagine how a SHIELD show could have been really cool without the need to make it a mini Avengers movie every episode. The creators really should have locked themselves in a room and watched every episode of Xfiles and immersed themselves in in Marvel lore prior to starting on any production of the show.
  14. Rules of the thread state you should ship within 2 weeks, so if someone doesn't receive their "junk" in what, 3 to 3.5 weeks it might be time to bring it up?
  15. Good point...although, based on the thread, looks like manicnerd paid for shipping. Seems like it's more about the point of the matter...there's a board member who didn't hold up his end of a deal, so wouldn't we want that person officially on the list - that would be in all of our interests, right? PIF has been a trainwreck on several occasions. All I am suggesting is that they handle their own business there, and not gum up the real PL. It's probably a good idea for PIF to have it's own internal blacklist. If somebody claims something in there and never does their end they should be banned from ever again using PIF until they square up. Imagine how big the PL would become if every PIF sender that shipped late or the item was damaged in shipping had to be put on PL. How would they refund a freebie to get off PL? I haven't seen anyone suggest putting people on the PL for bad shipping or shipping late, or for any other reason other than someone never shipped out what they said they would send. Why do people keep going back to that? No one has even suggested it that I've seen. What we are suggesting is explicitly, if you don't deliver the item you said you would ship you are to be added to the PL. Nothing more. No one has suggested it this time. That thread seems popular, and I am sure there is more junk to be swapped. We should have a real poll - Regular PL list, Regular PL list with a notation that it was PIF, and PIF having its own bad agent list.
