  1. If he had a dollar for every post, he could have bought that Batman 1, 4.5 on CLINK....well, not quite
  2. Congrats. I like those Shadow covers more and more. Devil Kyoti is a smooth Japanese villain too.
  3. Agreed. Looking at the Jungle run in the recent CC collection, I thought that cover may have been best.
  4. Thanks Knightfold for posting! Interesting article. Speaking of Schomburg's own re-creation covers.....CAT, you want to make a post?
  5. Unfortunately I don't know. I would hazard that they are peds (church or Allentown etc) Here's one, from the late 30's Church Copy, cracked 9.8 Defies logic how a 30's book can be so pristine!! Congrats!!
  6. Sweet. Do you know what they are?
  7. Hi GAtor, I noticed this beauty in the latest ComicConnect Auction: http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=554303 ...which got me thinking. What is the earliest book to receive a 9.8 designation from CGC? Flash Comics 10 is late 1940. Surely there can't be many before this one. FYI: I did check and there were no earlier issues of Flash Comics graded higher than 9.6.
  8. That should be a 'must watch' before you can ever sign into an account for the first time. Whoah that was great! I should have watched it before I first went on these threads for the first time. Hilarious but on the money.
  9. Cliff notes: Young, ambitious fellow wishes to make it big selling comic books. Lacks business acumen and expertise in comics, BUT compensates with moxy and keeping a cool head. Some snide comments from boardies, but also legitimate, caring advice.
  10. Good luck to you. As a few others mentioned, develop some expertise first, start small, and then work up.
  11. I need to sell a high grade copy of Detective Comics 27, but am unsure how to proceed. Boardies, which company or person should I turn to for consignment?
  12. Very nice...and I assume you read it VERY CAREFULLY! Congrats on the upgrade. Looks like a legit 6.5 to me too.
  13. Baltimore in sept might be best Choice. NYcc is biggest but a madhouse and expensive to attend If you are more south then Heroes in June would be a good choice Atlanta in may/June is first time I'm setting up so can't comment Thanks GAtor! I live in Virginia, so Baltimore is a great suggestion - only about 3 hours away. My nephew and I drove down to Richmond VA for a very small comic con in VA this weekend. On the drive - with his encouragement - I drilled him on the relevance of key Amazing Spiderman issues. What's the first appearance of Doc Oc? , etc. Eventually, I'll scaffold him up on the GA side of things. He is a quick learner. Need to pull in the youger generation, especially for GA!
  14. Hi Gator, Thinking about taking my 8 year-old nephew to a relatively big con on the east coast. For him, I want a it to be child friendly. For me, I'd like to see some see some nice GA comics and talk with GA aficionados. Will any con do, or do you have suggestions? Thanks!!
  15. I like the early work by Simon and Kirby. Cap 9 is a personal favorite where the Black Talon is choking Bucky and painting the action simultaneously! So hard to pick a favorite - too many covers to choose from. Both All-Select 1 & 2 are amazing. I like 1 a bit better. It's busy for sure but 2 - if this is even possible - is just too action packed for me :-)
  16. I went back through the thread to see that you're the !@#$! who scored the Startling 49 and the USA 7! Only ticked because you beat me to the punch. Excellent taste sir! I'm curious to find out what your next Heshka will be.
  17. Sweet. I ordered a print of Terrific 5. It's beautiful. Congrats Gator for owning the real deall!
  18. He was daring but the second project is not "Terrific." Ryan has already re-created Terrific 5.
  19. can't be the suspense 3 or startling 49 in your sig line as those have been "Heshkad" and once they are painted that's it . You are correct and on the right track, Primetime. My sig line does indeed contain clues!
  20. Close....but no cigar. However, one of the paintings does feature an advanced metropolis in the background!
