  1.

Yup, Beth was taken by Gabriel at the mortuary :acclaim:

    Why would he kidnap her?

    Yea why?

Makes no sense. He's not even a main character. Just because he's on the cover of 61 doesn't mean he brings anything significant to the story. He does a few prayers with the group in a church and that's it. He had his story which he says he let those people die cause he was scared to open the door, then he redeems himself and helps later. So what. Lame cliche story line. But hey if that book can sell for $150+ then ima selling.

What I said before was that I felt Gabriel was a representative of Alexandria who probably was a recruiter for new people. (Kind of how Aaron was in the book)

Those whole mortuary scenario was a setup by him to see what kind of people would show up and how they would react. I figured when he saw how Beth and Daryl, he saw her character and saw the good in her. That made him went to bring her to Alexandria (I'm sure he would have brought Daryl as well but when the whole mini herd went down, he could only save Beth

  2. Amazing Spiderman 1 Greg horn GameStop variant, this puppy is fetching at least $300-$500 and they are all pre orders, gonna be a hard book to find because of the fact that it has a 6,000 print run and you can only get it with GameStop reward points instead of buying it.

Not to mention getting it in great condition since they ship it raw in an envelope with no protection.

Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered two from gamestop. The only time I ever used my points was for the star wars 1 variant. Im not too hopeful in getting a high grade.

Yea I did the same on the SW variant. I'm sure some make it safely but it's a lady luck thing. Maybe since this will be a thicker 82pg it's might be better. Just got to wait and see.. :wishluck: was sad about the two copy limit :( hehe

    I'm 900 points from 6000 :( fml

  3. Is this just two people with mystery boxes using the same type of grammar, or one person copying another to skirt the raffle rules, or something more?

If you read a few pages back, you'll see we talked about the first link. The second link is another person who just copied and pasted it and wrote some other stuff for what seems like a mystery/raffle prize

  4. I noticed a small yard sale down the street with some clothes and junky looking stuff in the front yard. Decided to go check it out anyway.

Turned out they were having a quick money-raising sale for their family members in Chile who lost their home in a fire. Apparently a few days ago there was a HUGE fire that wiped out hundreds of homes in Valparaiso, Chile. I really need to read the international news more often. Here's the story .

They had donations from various families. When I walked up toward the garage, I noticed a table with a bunch of baseball cards, gaming cards, and some Dark Horse comics.

I asked the guy manning the sale "How much for the cards?" and I pointed to a folder of baseball cards. He said, "What are you offering?" I said, "I don't know much about baseball cards, but I have a friend who does." This is a true statement -- I really don't know much about them. The seller said, "How about $5?" I said, "$5 for each folder?" He replied, "No, $5 for all of them." (There were 3 folders.) I said, "Sure, okay, but let me look at some more stuff."

I noticed another big box of baseball cards underneath the table. Then I noticed a whole bin full of baseball cards, Pokemon Cards, Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and World of Warcraft cards. There was a gold-plated Pokemon collector thing, and a bunch of Ken Griffey cards in hard-plastic cases, various Topps cards, a folder full of basketball cards, etc. They were mostly from the '80s and '90s and my understanding is most of that stuff is near-worthless. But nonetheless it seemed like a decent risk.

I told the guy that my understanding is most sports cards from the '80s/'90s aren't worth much because they were over-printed, but sometimes there are hidden gems. He said, "Yeah, we realize that, but we don't have time to sell this on Craigslist or eBay or anything. We just need cash fast for our family in Chile." I said okay.

So I kept asking, "How much if I add this?" and the guy keeps just throwing out "$5 more" till I'm up to about $25. Then his Chilean mother gives me a cheese empenada.

I got everything in this picture, plus a nice big set of hard white dominos, for $30. I added extra onto the sale price as a donation. I figure worst-case scenario, I lose a couple bucks and make friends with some neighbors.

I know nothing at all about collector cards, but it will be fun to sort through them and learn about them before selling them or whatever.

Here's a pic that shows most of the stuff:

    Yu gi oh!!

    Good stuff

  5. The real #129 cover is up

    TWD129_cover.png

Is that old man Rick with a cane?!?!?!

    SPOILER:

    Ummm. Is that LUCILLE?!

If a lot of years have passed in TWD, enough for Rick to become "old", would Walkers really be a threat? I mean would that make sense in the apolcyapse? You would have to believe that after a long period of time, walkers would have been closed to wiped out due to the lack of food or at least civilization would have developed to some extent to defend and eliminate them. I personally don't think that the story has fast forward that drastically because it wouldn't make that much sense.

  6. the "all 20 must sell" thing does give me pause becuase its basically him saying "if I dont get rid of all of this stuff I dont want to have to give up the Stan Lee SS" which again makes it seem a little more like a raffle and less like a straight mystery box sale.

I took it to mean the exact opposite. How would the buyers feel if 19 boxes sold but the SS Stan Lee book was in the one that did not go out? The seller would be in a no win situation because nobody would believe that it was a random act.

    That's how I interpreted it.

As a buyer, I would be pissed if 19 boxes sold and miraculously the last box that didn't sold had the Stan book.

  7. You need to get the idea out of your head the Ty and Carol are at the Terminus.

They haven't arrived yet because if you watched the episodes in which they were focused on, they were behind the events that were going on (The burning of the house)

Ty & Carol had barely arrived to that one house when they had already seen the smoke in the air.

Daryl and Beth had left that house in the middle of the night and found the Mortuary (perhaps even the same day Ty & Carol found the house they stayed at)

Beth gets taken, Daryl finds new group.

    Glen finds Maggie and Co.

    They arrive to Terminus.

Daryl & Hunters find Rick & Co, they then end up in Terminus the next day or so.

    Ty & Carol either:

    A. Witnessed what was going on

    B. Will arrive later and figure it out
