  1. I'm sorry guy but Jake gives all Facilitators a bad name and having spoken to Mike B about him on a few occasions in the past I know the CGC gets a lot of complaints on him. I think with his repeated history and lack of showing any signs to improve his business methods that he needs to go and stay gone.

  2. J Dub just from perusing that thread, I have a feeling medina stuff is more on the artist and less on him. That does not at all excuse his lack of communication but as Miraclemet mentioned, facilitated sketches are very difficult simply because the artist can sometimes be a and take forever to get their work done, and that is not necessarily the fault of the facilitator. Granted a good facilitator will be in touch the whole time (just as an example I had a book signed by Stan Lee and was supposed to be signed 2 days later through a Facilitator by JR SR, 2 days became 4 months. The facilitator kept updating me though explaining on what was going on and I did eventually get the book)

That may be true and it may be on the artists but this seems to be a constant problem with Menace. Lack of communication, lying about books being completed, missed deadlines. I'm sure many members can back me up here that it is not a new issues with him, nor has he shown any signs of trying to improving it. I know I'm not the only one who will no longer deal with him, I'm sure some others will chime in with similar experiences.

  3. Hi J Dub, just need a bit of background. When did he acknowledge receipt of the returned book? When you sent it back to him what was the understanding (were you sending it back for a replacement or a refund?) Which transaction are you nominating him for? The Medina Opp or the Scottie Young SS or both? Did you PM him in a separate PM that he was being nominated and what he was being nominated for? If so has 72 hours passed? Thanks!

How many times does this guy need to be nominated before he finally gets added to the list? I'll never understand it... The guy gets nominated about every 6 months it seems and he has yet to clean up his act and be responsible.

  4. I have not watched Arrow in a long time. I watched the first 2-3 episodes of season 1 and I honestly couldn't tolerate the tried and true CW network formula TV.

The "we like each other but we can't be together because you are a superhero" angle that was played to death in Smallville resonated in Arrow again and I really am not interested in watching that again or buying the latest hot tune from iTunes that plays during the final scene.

    Or... Has it changed?

I don't know that it's changed, but you neglected to include the huge body count, great fight scenes, sick and twisted villains, the raw and brutal island flashback story, social commentary, existential issues, etc. I mean, it's a dark and edgy show whereas AoS could not be more bland, stereotypical, cookie-cutter and unoffensively Disney if it tried. 2c

Couldn't have said it better myself. Arrow is great!

  5. Last I knew he won't sign the Dynamite Army of Darkness comics because he doesn't get paid for likeness rights. I'm not sure if that is still the case though. I was able to sneak a few past him last year, cool guy to meet though. When I met him he took a few minutes with each fan and would take cell phone pics with everyone as well (didn't charge)

  6. Can't find the link now and maybe it was posted earlier but did anyone else read that this show had a 30% drop in viewers between it's premiere and episode 2?

I guess the average drop between premiere and episode 2 for new shows is between 10 and 20%.

No matter though, just switch over to CW to get your superhero TV fix --))------>

  7. I'm actually surprised to find so many people who think it was boring. It sounds like some people wanted to have a 42 minute 80 million dollar movie.

I thought it was a solid first episode that established the characters, organization, villains, and gadgetry pretty well. I think part of a superspy TV show is that things are allowed to play out to build suspense, create tension and introduce elements that dictate that things are really deeper than what they appear. There was a fight scene, an explosion and superhero action within the first few minutes of the episode. I'm not sure what everyone was expecting, but for me - it hit the things it needed to hit.

This is what I think caused the major disappointment amongst the fans. The majority thought it be about Marvel super heroes, but the last time I looked it was called Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. When we read S.H.I.E.L.D. the comic book what did we get?

We got a spy comic book that really had not many super heroes in it, so maybe when we watch a TV show called Agents of SHIELD, maybe we should expect a show kind of like James Bond and spies, and not superheroes?

So in conclusion the majority of the people thought they were getting a superhero show, but instead got a good superspy drama.

    That`s my take on it.

    Thoughts?

My problem with it is that it's just a bad show. SHIELD logos or no, it's still a poorly acted and terribly produced show. I'll give it a couple episodes then I am likely out. I enjoy comics, I like marvel, but that doesn't instantly mean it's going to be a worthwhile show or change the apparent fact that this is not a good program. That's like saying the CFL kicks just because the NFL is awesome...

  8. I have a story that sums the whole thing up.

A few years ago on the Byrne board, someone commissioned JB to do a drawing. He doesn't charge up front and if you don't like what he's done you don't lose a dime. So the guy who commissioned him decided he didn't like it...end of story right? Some time passes and an Anthony Castrillo commission that looks like it had been light boxed off of a copy / printout of the rejected JB drawing showed up on the original buyers CAF page. The buyer was outed on the boards and if IIRC AC claimed no knowledge of the prior illustration. Total BS as someone layed one on top of the other via Photoshop and it was a near perfect match.

    Just sayin'
