  1. Thanks all... Destroyer was a great character, too bad they didn't give him his own title...
  2. very true. My book show the same interior tanning. Thats a great looking book for the grade... even with the tanning it looks like that should re-grade better...at least in order to get the notes removed....Colors on the Northfords are striking....
  3. Thanks.. these pre-codes are scarce in higher grade, in general paper in the 50's was of a lower quality. Quite a few of the Northford's show tanning on the inside covers and hence I think thats why the grade of 8.5 on the Chilling Tales ...otherwise structurally the book is a 9.4.
  4. Heres my copy, its the Northford, I've had it for a while... It's the highest graded followed by two 7.5's...
  5. The 8.0 looks wavy at the top ? I'm not seeing a wave there, but I do remember seeing that that kind of wave on some books caused by non pro pressing.
  6. Love both of 'em, especially that old label All Winners. If that is now an "old label" book what is the former "old label" now called? " A vintage label" ? Thanks for the comments.... I'm not ready to crack em out... I fought with the idea of graded books in holders when they first appeared... now I'm finally used to them... CGC changed the perception of importance.... now the cover art of a book determines value and appeal... and I really like the new CGC holders... I have not seen a problem yet...I like that the books are protected..
  7. I posted this Beware #10 before a while ago ... but when the issue was mentioned on the other PCH thread... I am posting it here as well...
  8. heres my copy of Beware #10 its the highest graded..Ive posted it before a long while ago but here it is again..
  9. The Complete Mystery #1 is a recent addition, it's pretty difficult and a strange early PCH Stan Lee story.. Ive posted these on the other PCH thread... hope its ok on here also..
  10. Thanks... I love that era...heres a couple others.. the Complete Mystery #1 is a new addition
  11. I own a Cap #1 in 9.4 .. if I was offered a Marvel #1 9.4 in trade, I would make the trade, as a Marvel 1 in 9.4 would be quite rare,,,,,, I would not trade my Cap #1 9.4 for the highest graded Marvel #1( pay copy) which is in 9.0. At one time a Marvel #1 overshadowed the Action #1.....i'm old enough to remember that so for me Marvel #1 still has that mystique ... But as far as significance as it relates to the present times, along with the art and its creators... Cap 1 for the most part comes in third to Action 1 and Detective #27 at least by todays standards IMO..
  12. just picked these up... The Strange Fantasy #9 is rare with the Ditko art as it is more common to find its misprint with a Black Cat interior...
  13. Vintage or modern? Vintage pop up for sale from time to time on eBay and hakes Modern spinners just take googling, but I suspect that's not what you want thanks
  14. Where can you get a nice not too large comic book display rack?
