Is this a decent read? Thought about picking up the tpb to see what it's about. It's a modern day retelling of the Odyssey. Great read and Phil Noto's art is always amazing.

Totally agree with you Cal. I have a grand total of 6 first print copies that I've picked up out of dollar bins for the last year or so. All this movie news and rumors is great but this book was getting hot even before all the rumors. It's a First Appearance of A Spider-Man and what intrigued me more was the Secret Wars stuff. Marvel basically told us that the Ultimate universe was coming to an end and Miles Morales and other characters were going to join the 616. I feel what you're saying JayDogRules. Peter Parker is Spider-Man and I can't wait to see him in the MCU done properly. Doesn't mean there's not enough room for another Spider-Man.

I couldn't disagree more - the problem with those last two movies, especially the most recent one, is that they were terrible. That has nothing to do with interest waning in Peter Parker as Spider-man... I don't even know how you would arrive at that conclusion. Well since you asked. Let's start off with some critics reviews of the last Spidey movie. There's a reoccurring theme here: I saw the movie, I read many of the reviews. The -script just sucked, it has nothing to do with Peter Parker. Nothing. People are tired of seeing the same two Spider-man movies, how is that the character dragging it down? I agree with a lot of the points you're making about Miles, but this one is out of left field for me. No one is going to see an awesome Spider-man movie trailer, and then when the mask comes off go "Awww man! That Peter Parker guy again?! I'm out." It isn't going to happen. Ever. I didn't see any of the rebooted films in theaters, and barely paid attention on cable. I'm just bored to death of Peter, Aunt May, Uncle Ben, and MJ. Miles or even Spider-Gwen would get me back in the theatres. It's easy to get bored with poorly made films with too many villains. Bringing in Miles will do nothing if the films are still poorly made with too many villains. Would Miles have saved ASM 2? *cough cough*. And what about actual comic book sales? Remember those? ASM with Peter Parker, a consistent top 5, and usually top 2 book month in and month out. Ultimate Spider-Man with miles morales, a top 75 book, and falling every month. There is no question who Spider-Man is that the buying and general public knows and loves and who the third rate knock off is who can't even carry a title. Miles Morales has his place. It just will not be in any Marvel live action movies. -J. Is there any reason why you are so against Miles Morales? You do realize you are in a Ultimate Fallout 4 thread. Wherein that's all anyone is going to talk about. Just seems you're setting yourself up to be angry with everyone's posts. IMO, it's not worth it... With that being said, I do think Miles and Peter Parker can both be in the movies. Two different studios... Two different Spider-Men. Kinda makes sense to me. Sony can keep making their awful movies and the MCU can have Spider-Man also! Just wishful thinking on my part. But you never know.

I'm still keeping up hope! I know Ken is making an appearance this weekend at Long Beach Comic Expo. If anyone's going, maybe they can say for all of us and also ask him what's up with the book.

Great news, can't wait to see how Thanos' new relationship with Death develops! Haven't read Infinity Revelations yet. Is it a good read? Heard differing opinions at my LCS. Also, do I need to read it in preparation for Thanos Vs. Hulk? Stoked for that mini-series!

Is this is the first time a Superhero has been pimp slapped to death? They should add that into the movie. Would really show how powerless everyone is against Thanos and the Infinity Guantlet.

I liked the art. The splash pages are amazing. I thought the story has depth to it. There is a lot of story to be told in this one. Plus, its Remender! I also really liked the Afterword by RR. Really interesting how he got the idea for this book.

just so we are 100% clear, i had next to no complaints during the sale. They only started shipping Wednesday evening which is less than one week from right now. Over 65% of our packages are out in the mail. If anything I have gotten alot of great pm's and public comments on the thread.so I truly have no idea where you are coming from with that......as for the volume it was fine. It has been a week. Seems like a pretty simple decision now. I think your update is premature, while it's inevitable if there is no change in this guy's position.... there is nothing to be gained from updating the PL when people are still in their "hot head" phase & acting childishly. It's happened before where people put "the boards on blast" & adding them serves no purpose, we're better off letting people cool down. Updating the PL at this time isn't correct or necessary because it puts us into removal rules rather than the nomination rules, some people aren't familiar with how this works & the nominee has clearly stated that this is the case with him. Keep on trollin. Does it really matter now if hes on the PL list? He doesnt seem to care much about being on it. The guy came on here and pimped the out of his variant. Made a boatload of money and pissed people off in the process. 75% of his 158 posts are about his variant. He obviously only came on here to pimp his variant and make money and now he's out.

Finally got around to reading the preview exclusive from SDCC. Loved the art and am very, very intrigued as to where this story is going. Looking forward to issue 2. Also, almost every copy I looked at for this book (went through about 100 copies in 3 days, and just stopped trying to find a good copy after that) had printing defects on the front cover. Looked like someone chewed up the middle of the page. With only 500 copies, this is going to be a hard book to find in high grade.

Can we start a separate "First Appearance Debate" thread To get back on topic... The Strain #1 and 2 just keep going up! Is there a ceiling on those books? How good is the show? Havent seen any episodes yet.

Print runs man. There's like half a million copies of X-Force #2 compared to 50K or so of GOTG #1, and it's the 1st appearance of the current team. You know, the one the movie is based on But even with a 50,000 print run there is still a huge supply of them in high grade. There aren't 50,000 buyers out there clamoring for a copy. There are a couple of hundred speculators/hoarders trying to flip it. I'll buy the print run argument for a book like Walking Dead 1 where the demand might really exceed the total run. For most other books, the supply is still pretty big. GOTG 1 isn't a 1st or close to a 1st for any of those characters (is it a 2nd Groot? I admit I don't know). I guess you could try to argue this is the modern equivalent of Defenders 1, but I don't think it's anything more than temporary movie hype. That GOTG book had its fans, but was and is a near nonentity in the Marvel Universe. Avengers #1 isn't the first appearance of any of those characters... Don't you think a big blockbuster movie could make the GOTG an entity in the Marvel Universe

I love Riley Rossmo's art! I thought it was perfect for the book and when he left the book, so did I. It just felt like a completely different book after he left.

This is interesting to me... Marvel hasn't invested in new property like in forever. Everyone there has influence and unlike Sony or Fox, Marvel seems to be doing mostly everything right. It's not like they don't have great source material. Just fine it strange that anyone would have doubts that this is going to be lame... Unlike John Carter, Marvel is driving the bus, but like John Carter, Disney super conglomerate is driving the bank. I can't imagine it's going to be anything other than epic. Who knows though, I may be very wrong. Also, I'm amazed CGC doesn't have labels just for Stan Lee's signature at this point. Feels like the man has signed 1/3 of the marvel books out there... Even the ones he had nothing to do with...
