  1. Michael was quicker on the buzzer with a GGA slab I coveted some while back. Later, when he needed to sell it, he sent me a courtesy message and even gave me a deal. Tremendous! Anyway, it turns out he's an awesome artist too! Check out his work....now!
  2. Clint bought a DD slab from me. Paid for it fast and was great to deal with. Thanks!
  3. Hello all, I thought I would throw my hat into the ring with the two zombie beauties. Can anyone confirm if Menace #9 is the first instance of having the phrase "the Walking Dead" on a cover? (fingers-crossed)
  4. Bought a nice stack of pulps and GA books from Chuck. The package arrived fast and packed better than almost any purchase I've made to date. I would not hesitate to buy more books from Chuck! Thanks!!
  5. George gave me a good deal on an ASM lot and shipped it to me fast. Thanks!
  6. Jason sold me a rather stunning set of X-Men. Fast shipping was provided, and many smiles ensued. Thanks!!
  7. Ronald sold me a super-sweet X-men #14 CGC 7.5 and a raw McFarlane Hulk. Threw in a few freebies and got it all to me in record time. Awesome transaction! Thanks!
  8. Chuck sold me a pile of books, all in packed well and shipped fast. Thanks!
  9. Andy sold me a gorgeous X-Men #9. Shipping was lighting fast and communication was great! Thanks!
  10. Steve bought a few of my Coverless Golden Age books and was nice enough to drive by afterwork for a local pickup. Very easy to work with and great with quick communication, Thanks Steve! http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=78&Number=6165890&Searchpage=1&Main=277890&Words=&topic=0&Search=true#Post6165890
  11. Michael responded to a wanted ad I placed for Captain Easy. He sold me the exact issue I was hoping to find for an excellent price. Fast shipping to boot! Thanks Michael!
  12. Just bought these from zzutak this morning. Barely got 'em too by the looks of how fast everything sold out. Anyway, I'm very excited! I'm just starting up a pre-hero collection and these are my favorite to-date.
  13. Just bought this from zzutak this morning. Barely got it too by the looks of how fast everything sold out. Anyway, I'm very excited. I'm just starting up a pre-code collection and this is my favorite to-date.
  14. I scored a a whole long box of SA and GA goodies including a full-run of the Phantom Stranger (vol 2, #1-40) Most are in high-grade too (including #1)! Very happy right now! This was in a lot with a very generous amount of GA books. Lots of Four Color books. Sadly, many were sad crumbling heaps of kindling, but a few survived. I got a couple early Roy Roger's Comics and a Trigger #3 in nice shape. Even got a Rin Tin Tin #10 that would be in NM condition if a 1-1/2" chunk of the lrhc wasn't chewed off by mice. Oh yeah, there was also a full run of Bomba, the Jungle Boy from 1967 (1-7). Near mint to those too. There were also some decent pre-100 JLA's as well as some cool Gold Key's like the Twilight Zone, Ripley's BioN, and UFO Flying Saucer. Very surprised in general with my finds this week. All in all, about 230 books at about 1.50/book. Only 30 of them were worthless moderns. (Team America, Cloak & Dagger, etc...) They were all her uncles books and she was happy to get rid of them all at once for my offer. Here are some of the pics, not in any real order...
  15. My copy could have used more "Iron", but did ultimately prove to be "Invincible", Hey, for $4, who's complaining? I hereby welcome myself to this club...
  16. Is it faded? The background color isn't as saturated as my two copies. (all the colors really) Maybe the scan settings were off. Otherwise, it's a nice copy for sure. Here's my raw copy:
  17. Picked this one up in an antique store down in Wiliamsburg this past weekend. Pretty funny comic. Captain Easy isn't a Captain or Easy as far as I could tell, but he got the job done!
  18. Couldn't be left behind. Here's my feedback thread!
  19. Bought a stack of SA Spidey's from Mike. Communication was great and he was very patient when I asked him to hold off shipping them for a few weeks while I was on vacation. They arrived well-packed and in great condition. Thanks Mike!
  20. Well, I know that can't be right, because there are at least 3 different known owners of covers out of the first 10 issues and 4 if my friend who owns/owned one of them hasn't sold it yet, and I doubt any of those 4 is the guy you are talking about (none of them are known to be slab collectors), so add at least one more name to the list... I might have heard him wrong on that. I know he has SSC #1 for sure, he might have been talking about some other Conan covers for the rest. This guy is a power-collector. Most impressive collection I've ever seen. I was a little beside myself as he was describing some of his favorite items....
  21. I would say he is showing off, but I just met a guy with eight CGC 9.8 slabs. I don't know what to do now....life just seems meaningless. (oh, and he has the original cover art to the first 10 Savage Sword of Conan's....)
  22. I don't all the pictures handy, but I've had quite a bit of luck lately wth antique stores and flea markets. Here's a short list (off the top of my head) of recent finds: Sgt. Fury Run- 1-32 + 10 more up to $60 (last 3/4 in F - F/VF conditon) $4/book Captain Easy #14 (1948) VF - $25 ASM #300 -(\VF/NM - $1 Green Lantern #27 (coverless) $2 TOS #36, #42, #65-#67 - G/VG $4/book Iron Man #55 (VG+) - $4 20 Early Walt Disney's Comics and Stories (1940's) - $2 each (four color) Captain Davy Jones #598 - VF - $5 Not Brand Ecch #1-#4 - VG-FN - $2/book It's been so much fun, I almost can't stand going to my LCS and paying retail anymore!
  23. I definitely will. I'm a die-hard DD fan, but just a little behind in my reading! That being said, in just thumbing through the pages I can say I'm not a fan of the art. I think I've been spoiled by Miller, Janson, and Maleev. Maybe it'll grow on me. Anyway, don't mean to hijack a Spidey thread. Back to webslinging!
  24. Do you really think that Marvel would let that opportunity go by without capitalizing on it? I do. Maybe Spidey is different, but I know I won't see DD #600, let alone any other big number.
