I wonder why 2004 was such a big year?
-
My favourite thread.
I like American comics. I've been reading them for 40 years!
My mother would buy me a Mad magazine every time I went to hospital for a check up. (Which was every three months.) That started when I was six!
My first truly collectable comic; Vault of Horror 35. Xmas cover. Probably a VG.
Bought at a second hand book shop for $10. I was 19.
Since then ... well lets say I have a few more.
Cheers!
My fave post of the week!
Let's see a pic of your 35 friend!!!
I haven't treated it too well over the years. It's probably a G now!
I let my 14 year old read it about six months ago. He found it "Cool". Not a Walking Dead, which he loves, but he enjoyed it.

If you don't mind me asking, why doesn't Marvel or Diamond release this sort of sales information?
Is it that they don't have the data anymore, or is it some sort of commercial-in-confidence thing?

- Flintstones, The (1994)
- Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, The (2000)
TV show before it was comic book.
(Same with Scooby-Do.)
Yup. They are already on the list.
I meant should they be on the list?
They were TV-Show Based movies, not a Comic-Book based movie.

I don't believe I've been perusing this here message board since 2004! Nearly ten frickin years.
-
I don't know if anyone has asked this, but why was 2004 such a big year for new members?
I can't remember what happened a year ago, let alone nearly ten, so what happned in 2004 to make so many different types join up here?

Since you asked...

Could I get the meltdown PMed to me too please?

Thanks PointFive (Jon) for the great Startling Terror Tales #14.

Thanks again for supplying me with one of my grails!!

I'm getting goose-bumps just thinking where this thread is going to end up!
Reneged deal? - Check!
Board members involved? - Check!
Reputations on the line? - Check!

Were these the ones I saw on EBAY recently?
It's been a good week at my mailbox. As well as some beautiful early Scrooges, I got four more 1964 Australian Mobil giveaways. There are 24 of these. I bought my first in early 2004, now I have 22 of them. Looking for #9 and 10...
Here's the new ones.
And I wanted to show this panel (which in this size comic is a full page). The Australian colouring went through several changes. In the first half of the 1960s it was at its best (IMHO) - and I think this panel is sensational.
Enjoy.

Big thanks to GACollectibles for some great Atom Age books.

Perfectly graded , priced, and packed.
And a belated thanks to all who have sold to me in the past.
Every transaction has been drama-free!
Thanks again!

Who painted these covers?
Comics.org and Comicbookdb.com have no cover credits?
-
Now that's a good lookin' example!
Hate to miss an Amazing Adventures 5 party. -
I've never used this forum to show the stuff I buy, but I purchased these a few days ago from Harley Yee at a small convention here in Australia.
The man is the only American dealer to continually make the trip here. He always as a wall full of Gold/Atom Age stuff, and I always buy a few things from him.
I just couldn't go past this:
And this (Would've liked a better grade, but 'beggars can't be choosers')
You just don't see this sort of stuff for sale from local sellers.
Thanks Harley!
How much would this foxing effect grade?
in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Posted
How much does the foxing on the front cover take away from the grade?
This Thor, as you can see, has some foxing on the bottom of the cover.
How much drop does this level of foxing do to the grade?
(I have a few others that look the same!)
Any help grately appreciated.
Thanks.
