  1. nice books there. but books without the bags and backboard just scares me.
  2. nice collection. just put them in mylites, you will be happy.
  3. You're telling me. I subbed a 1d to Cgc and it came back a 9.4. I was certain it was to hit a 9.8 but there must have been an issue internally or it was damaged in transit. Now I'm scrambling for a raw on eBay. I think I've spent $100 searching for a 9.8 candidate. don't you check internal of the book?
  4. I hope it will, but it just won't happen even with a movie.
  5. Why does the FP bring more than the Ghost issue ? Is it a print run issue or what ? harder to get , I guess.
  6. glad to hear they got such high demand on the book. I looked on midtown website, didn't see the difference on cover A,B. can someone point that out for me? if they had a new cover, I would get one.
  7. Holly cow, that's one of my favorite. nice pick up.
  8. You mean like the five #1s this seller blew out 4 days ago at best offer with a $12.99 listing and $3.00 shipping? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Five-Ghosts-Haunting-Of-Fabian-Gray-1-Frank-Barbiere-Chris-Mooneyham-1st-print-/380617903869?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item589e984efd I wish this was the norm but I am seeing lots of sold prices at way below what you posted. This is something I don't quite get. There is a lot of people reading and liking this series (myself included) There isn't a lot of hoarding like EoW. Print run has been healthy. So, shouldn't we see a healthy growth in secondary prices, rather than this dip that we are seeing? Maybe it is the 3D covers let's stop worry about the price. can we get back to discuss the story and art? there is so much dedication, Frank is only writer that would spend the time drop in the forum talk to us. I'll continue to read as long as they are making the book.
  9. they get their fair share. I hear that they cut no slack and ban the offending party from future auctions immediately. that's the way it should be.
  10. My business partner Richard Emms is the writer. This is now the best selling Ardenn book ever. Some have pointed to the similarities in the endings to Mythopolis 1 and The Wake1 but this was actually out first. Wo wo ow.... spoiler alert......to the 3,000 people who have a copy. where did you find the sales data?
  11. Just curious if you're affiliated with this company; I've never heard of Arden? spreads WTTB huckleberry ! I like the covers and like always willing to give it a try but at $20 somebody else try first You can buy a copy off the publisher's website for cover price http://www.ardden-entertainment.net/ Much appreciated (thumbs u $3.99 - will ship with one of four covers. Order 4 copies and get all 4 covers! you can't pick which cover you want
  12. nice pick up at such a cheap price
  13. I don't agree. I'd priced it about $40 below recent eBay auctions. I even included a link to said auctions. It might have been steep for a dealer though. That I could see. For the boards? I thought it was a good deal. Oh and I'd add: A lot of them didn't even ask a price. I believe I spoke with 5 dealers. One didn't have his partner who was in charge of CGC books. One was up for trading but my price was too high. We discussed a trade but he only had one book I wanted that was way below the value. The other 3 were not interested outright. I never even gave them a figure or showed them the book. One of the 3 had a raw Invincible that I was clearly going to try to flip it in to and they wouldn't even discuss it. They had the Invincible priced at $125. So you can say what you want, but right now this book is a niche book, IMO. In a year or two I could see it changing, but as of right now I'm not sure I'd invest in regular 9.8s of issue 1. Like someone just bought 8 copies of issue 1 over in the marketplace. That money, again IMO, could have been better spent on an RRP which seems to be dropping in value now. I'd imagine it will spike again. CGC is the niche, not Saga. You essentially wanted a graded price and in your example wanted to trade for a raw book. There are a number of dealers that simply will not pay a premium for graded books. They just don't sell at conventions like raw books. Had you offered the book as raw trade value (plus slabbing cost) then you may have had better luck. As far as selling here what did you price it at? I was thinking the same thing Jeff as I just sold a raw 9.0 copy for $95. Prices are starting to head north... http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAGA-1-CGC-9-8-Brian-K-Vaughan-Fiona-Staples-IMAGE-/261277037752?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item3cd55334b8 you shouldn't have any problem get rid of it. unless deep in your heart, you still find love for it.
  14. Were people looking for the RRP? That is a good point: not one of them even bothered to ask me if it was an RRP. I didn't see a single booth selling any issues either. I saw a few modern East of Wests for like $15 or so. No one was interested in my copy of the first one of the those either. So are these dealer only carry the books from big two, or only would buy or trade GA, SA books? Maybe, it's better off for you to sell it on here or Ebay. I was there on Saturday, it was just way too many people at the show. After going through a few publisher's booth and artist alley, and forever wait at CGC, I was so beat. I just gave up and even bother to check out every dealer.
  15. I can't wait to Oct 30 for #6, 2 months is too long.
  16. Is that a good price? Haven't been paying attention to the rrp prices at all. not really, that's the same guy sell on the board for $400 shipped. then decide to sell on Ebay, now he only gets $389.7, and buyer had to pay $433 with shipping. clearly Ebay is only winner. Very good point that flew right over my head because of the fees (thumbs u This assumes that the guy would have been able to sell them on the boards for $400 shipped. I don't think that he was able to. In the end, he probably made about as much or even a tiny bit more by selling on eBay than the boards (he would have had to pay PayPal fees and for shipping if he sold on the boards). I think that the seller got a solid price. I doubted. after he offered $400 shipped, I clearly expressed my interest to pay for one. he declined and said he had too many offers.
  17. $330 shipped, what a steal, CGC fee alone is somewhere around $200.
  18. Hahaha. I think spreads probably made the more provable points. He and CBT could have some great discussions and better charts and graphs than I could ever hope to provide. The one thing I know. If you debate something long enough you will either confirm your point or learn something new Has anyone saw CBT lately, need to see some charts and graphs
