  1. The ones that are tough to find are the DCU's that came out in two-packs with cover dates after Nov 1994; and that includes the Death of Superman DCUs (which I believe only came out in two-packs even though their cover dates were Dec 92 thru Jan 93). The ones that came out in 20-pack bricks (cover dated Dec 93 thru Nov 94) and boxed sets (like Batman Knightfall and Superman Fiercest Foes) are pretty common.
  2. I believe the comic books shown below were the last newsstand issues of Batman, Superman, Action Comics, and Detective Comics (note the $3.99 price tag). After approximately 38 years of producing separate newsstand issues, the last ones have been produced (which seems pretty significant to me). Has anyone seen any later DC newsstand issues than the ones I've shown? These were the last ones shown on Mile Highs website, and it looks to me like they were buying them off the newsstand every month and then re-listing them at outrageous prices. If these really are the last newsstand issues, then the only newsstand issue that I've never seen from those 4 titles is Superman New 52 #8. There's approximately 1800 of them, and that's the last one on my list to find.
  3. Thanks Mysterio. I thought we had seen all the packs, and then this one pops up. It makes me wonder what other things are out there. I suspect there's quite a few other DCUs laying around in some guy's closet that are not on Revat's list. If ten years go by and previously unknown DCU's keep popping up from time to time, then you know there's got to be more out there. You would think at some point, though, when only a couple new ones are found every year, then we are getting close to having found almost all of them.
  4. Has anyone ever seen this pack before? It appears to be all DCUs, but it is a little different than those boxed sets.
  5. The chance of finding some of these variants is fascinating to me. About one year ago, none of the die-hard variant collectors on Collector's Society had an Action 706 DC Universe variant in their collection. Now in the last year I've held three of them in my hands, and now there is a 4th one for sale on ebay. Below is a photo of two of them that I currently have in hand (one of them is at least a 9.6).
  6. We know for sure that the packs are not consistent in their contents. Here's some examples: SM 74 IV/JL 69 IV ebay $28 Apr 2014 SM 74 IV/SM MOS 19 II ebay $20 Dec 2016 Batman 493 II and Batman 497 II Batman 494 and Detective 665 Batman 495 and Detective 662 Batman 495 and Detective 663 Batman 496 and Detective 659 III Batman 497 II and Detective 664 Batman 498 and Detective 666 Batman 499 and Detective 661 Batman 503(DCU) and Detective 670(DCU) Batman 504(DCU) and Detective 671(DCU) Batman 506(DCU) and Batman Adventures 18(2nd) Batman 515(DCU) and Detective 683(DCU) Batman 516(DCU) and Detective 682(DCU) SM 74 III/Adv SM 499 1st print seen on ebay Aug 2014 $33 SM MOS 18 IV/JLA 69 III - seen on ebay Jan 2018 (2 packs) Adv SM 497 II/SM MOS 15/ ? 7. Awesome job Warlord. I hate to admit it, but I cringe a little bit when I see a large wall of newly found DCUs. I think to myself... uh oh, has someone found one that I did not know existed? By the way, here's a 2-pack with two hard-to-find DCUs.
  8. Yes, I was there to help Revat develop the list in the beginning, and Revat's initial list was based largely on Jerome's list. I only added a few to Jerome's list that he wasn't aware of, and then others came along and added a few more.
  9. I can go along with that. There's only a handful of stickered ones, and so far each stickered DCU has a non-stickered DCU counterpart.
  10. Welcome to the boards. I will leave it to Revat to explain how he compiled to the list, but I can address AoS 530. Jerome Wenker (who had been collecting DC variants for years and seemed to have more than anyone) had put AoS 530 on his list but he never had a copy. In general, his list was very accurate but since no one had ever seen an AoS 530 DCU, we listed it as questionable. There were a few others like AoS 530 that he didn't have but claimed existed and they eventually showed up (like Superman 117 and Action 706). But there are others like AoS 530 and SM MOS 49 that have never been found. That is a great observation on your part that no DCU's have ever been found with cover date of Dec 1995. I would agree with that statement. So that makes AoS 530 DCU even more "questionable" in my opinion.
  11. Great pick on the Detective Comic book. I remember buying that one as a cheap back issue when I was a kid. I read the story and thought.... "Wow... this is really deep.... what if the animals we put a zoo feel just like Batman and Robin did when the aliens placed them in a zoo?" SPCA must have been proud when this issue came out!
  12. I found the following: Batman 514, Superboy 23, Power of Shazam 17, and JL Task Force 23. These are fairly uncommon, so I thought I would post a photo of them.
  13. I was watching "True Lies", which was made around 1994 and part of it was shot in Georgetown Park Mall. In the movie, you see the Georgetown Park Mall symbol on the mall doors, and it is identical to the one shown on the Georgetown Park variant of Adv of Superman 443 shown in photo above.
  14. whoops. Typo.... I meant to delete "(including the Superman Wedding Album DC Unviverse variant, which came in the wedding..." The Superman Wedding Album DC Universe variant was actually released in the comic shops at same time as the white Wedding Album, which is evidenced by the fact that so many of those Wedding Album DC Universe variants exist.
  15. I remember the TEC 675 quite well. It was a retailer incentive and it had the DCU logo on the cover, which was kind of cool. It was not poly bagged but had the cool looking hard cover. I recall those days fondly. It was about the time that DC started getting gimmicky with retailer incentives. One of the first was the poly and platinum poly bagged Superman 75's. Next was the poly bagged platinum Adv of Superman 500 (which set me back $25 at the time, which seemed outrageous to me but I had to have it). Then came the deluxe versions of Adv of Superman 501, Action 687, Superman 78, Superman Man of Steel 22. Next came Adv of Superman 505 (foil cover and polybagged issue with post card) and and Superman 82 (foil cover and poly bagged issue with poster). At the same time, Batman 500 came out with a poly bagged version and a deluxe version. As soon as the Batman 500's came out, I started to think "Dang, this getting expensive!" Next DC created the Action 695 deluxe and soon after that the platinum retailer incentives of TEC 675 and Action 700 (which each cost me a whopping $5 at the time, which also seemed a little pricey). The platinum versions of TEC 675 and Action 700 both had the DCU symbol on the cover. The platinum TEC 675 and Action 700 seem unique in that they both came out with the DCU symbol on the cover at about the same time as the first printing. The only other example I know like that was the Superman Wedding Album DC Universe variant, which according to my notes came out the same time as the white wedding cover (I vaguely recall some hesitation on my part about buying both versions at the shop, but I thought I should since it was an historic event). As far as I know, all the other DC Universe variants seemed to only come out in the bricks, multi-packs, and two-packs
  16. Thanks Revat. I would love it if some more un-discovered DCU's pop up in 2018. Along that same line, I've been having some fun tracking down Mark Jeweler variants. I've now found about 94% of all the ones that could possibly exist in the titles of Batman, TEC, Superman, Action and JLA. I wrote a thread about this topic in case anyone is interested. Finding them has about the same fun feeling as the DCU Easter egg hunt. Notable in 2017 is the fact that DC stopped producing newsstand variants for stores like Barnes and Nobles. I'm slightly bummed by it, but also happy to not be needing to go to Barnes and Noble every week!
  17. Hats off to Revat for starting this topic. This is one of the most enjoyable threads on collector's society. And I really appreciate those who have posted photos of the hard-to-find DCU variants.
  18. Yes, he does own Superman 117 DCU. LikeEmScanned has a knack for finding the impossible-to-find... congrats to him! Now I need someone to find a spare Superman 117, Superman 113, or Adv of Superman 521 DCU variant and sell to me. My bounty is currently at $100 for the 113/117 and $250 for the 521.
  19. Hills of Comics obtained a great stash of high grade jeweler variants. With the ones I bought from Hills of Comics, I now have found 651 jeweler variants in the five titles of Batman, Detective, Superman, Action and Justice League of America. In those 5 titles, I believe there should be approximately 692 possible jeweler variants. Therefore, I believe I have tracked down approximately 94% of the jeweler variants that were possibly made for those 5 titles. Many thanks to Hills of Comics for recognizing the insert and then advertising it on ebay. Also thanks to Russ Tabor, who helped me fill a lot of holes in my collection as well as identify some jeweler variants that I did not know existed.
  20. Amazing you found that many in one location. I've been looking for these for many years, and I've never seen that many of the same issue all in one spot.
