  1. Take a look at this link. There's been cases where the printer needed to cover up an error on a bar code (so they used the sticker) or they needed to send additional copies to the newsstand (so they covered direct sales labels with the bar code to get the comic books to the newsstands). A lot of photos are missing from this thread, but the text clues you in.
  2. I live in USA and connected with a guy in Venezuela to get some newsstand issues I was missing. Had to use google translator so he could understand me. I connected thru the Latin American website "Mercado Libre" which is interesting in itself. Using Mercado Libre as a way to advertise goods, people usually only trade locally and in person.
  3. And for everyone out there who's looking, I will gladly pay $200 if someone would find and sell to me a copy of a DC Universe variant of Adventures of Superman 521. Crazy... I know.... but that's how hard these things are to find, in my opinion.
  4. I agree with you on the Adv of SM 523. All the other major titles have a DCU variant for that month, but Adv of SM 523 in DCU format alludes us. Congrats to LikeEmScanned for finding the Adv of SM 521 DCU variant.
  5. wow. Nice find! I know how hard it is to find a shop with a lot of back issue in the UK (and for that matter, most places in Europe)
  6. I finally got the Action 706 DCU thanks to Mysterio.
  7. update: I just edited my posting above to show another find (the Georgetown Park). I know the owners of Georgetown Park, Fiesta, and The Parks and neither of them were willing to part with theirs for $100.
  8. yes, 524 was a tough one and one of the last ones I found in the Batman run
  9. I don't think any of us know why they chose Adv of Superman 443. I also think there's a good chance they made a variant for a mall in New Jersey, we just haven't found it yet. For a long time, we only knew of 7 variants, and in the last two years that number has increased to 12. For convenience, here's all 12 shown in one posting, along with the Canadian variant. I am missing the Westgate, North Shore Square, Fiesta, The Parks and Georgetown Park from my collection (I'd gladly pay $100 for any mall variant that I don't currently have, if that gives some idea of how hard they are to find). Here's Spring Hill, Clearview, Rhode Island, Washington Park, Montclair Plaza, Cranberry, Willowbrook, Newsstand and Direct versions: Here's The Parks, Fiesta, North Shore Square, Westgate, Georgetown Park, and Canadian Versions:
  10. We are now up to 11 mall variants. Montclair Plaza, The Parks, Willowbrook, Washington Park, North Shore Square, Spring Hill, Clearview, Westgate, Rhode Island, Cranberry, and now, dang it, Fiesta Mall (see link): http://www.chrisisoninfiniteearths.com/2016/08/adventures-of-superman-443-1988.html
  11. The Action run would not have been possible without your help Mysterio, so hats off to you!

I will sell them to you cheap to help you out.... all I ask is that you keep an eye out for stuff I need.
  13. Detective 669-675, 675(two versions), 676-678, 680, 681, 682(two versions), 683-689, 690 (regular and stickered versions), 691, 694-704 Minimum grade VF Spares on hand: 669/675/678/679/681/687/688/689/690/697/700 I believe Detective has more DCU variants than any other title (38 by my count).
  14. Batman 502-511, 0, 512, 514, 515(two versions), 516-524, 526, 527, 529, 531(two versions), 532-535 minimum grade VF Spares on hand: 503/508/509/510/520/521/526/532/533/534

  17. There seems to have been some fairly common 20-pack bricks. So the comics from those bricks are usually easy to find. The dates of those bricks are: Dec 93 (e.g., Batman 502, Adv of Superman 507), Jan 94 (e.g. Batman 503, Adv of Superman 508), Apr 94 thru Nov 94 (e.g. Batman 505-512 and Batman 0, Superman 512-517 and Adv of Superman 0). After Nov 94, they get hard to find unless they appeared in boxed sets. Examples of hard to find variants after Nov 94 include many of the ones you guys mentioned above plus TEC 680, 685. 691, Action 705, 706, Superman 96, 97, Superman MOS 42, Batman 517, 524, Adv of SM 524, 531. Also hard to find are any of the Death of SM and Funeral for a Friend issues that have DC Universe on them (Superman 77, Action 686, SM Man of Steel 21, Adv of SM 499 etc) Anything currently in stock on the Mile High website is also fairly easy to find. If it was rare, they would no longer have it listed. Maybe we should all show a list of what we currently have on hand, so that Revat could get an actual count of what's for sure out there. It would be a little tedious, but that would give us some data.
  18. Thanks. I'm pretty sure it would have to be 237 or 238
  19. I wonder which issue of LOSH that was. If it had survey, it would have to be #237 or #238.
  20. I left out Azrael 22 from the list. Only one known copy out there I think we can also say that these recently discovered issues like Superman 97 are hard to find. Between all of us fanatics, I'm guessing several hundred copies of these comics have been looked at and only one DCU variant of those comics just recently surfaced
  21. I'm thinking along the same lines. I have wondered if there might be two versions of JLA 100 or SM 100, but over the years I must have looked at more than a couple hundred copies of each of those comic books. So far I have only seen the DCU version of the white cover of SM 100 and no JLA 100 DCUs. And yes, I'm relieved that LikeEmScanned did not find another Batman, TEC, Adv of Superman or Action DCU!
