Couldn't of stated it better

II disagree. WD 1 in 9.8 will be selling for $1500 in 3-4 years time. We can come back to this thread then and see just where they'll stand.People were saying the same thing 3 years ago...
Clearly they were wrong.
3 years ago WD was in season what, 2 ? Things were going well for the show. It was in full swing and interesting. Past tense.
Also 3 years ago people were saying WD 1 9.8 would likely be selling for 5K by now. Ummm.... no.
I work for law enforcement and work with hundreds of people. Not one person I talk with is getting tired of the show. In fact they like the show better every season. I don't know what some of you guys are talking about. The show has over 15 million people watching it every week. It's the only show that I consistently hear people talking about and people love this show.
The only time I ever hear negative comments about the walking dead is on this website and other comic websites. I also hear some bad comments at my LCS. So besides comic guys I have NEVER heard one person say anything bad about the show.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but the show is not close to ending. I think Kirkman mentioned he has enough material already written for 12 seasons. The TV show will most likely be on for at least 6 more years and who knows it could go on for 15 or more seasons. Plus I'm sure once it does end they will probably have a Walking Dead movie.
I have heard the same song and dance comments on this website about how this show stinks and will be ending soon. Well it's not going to happen for many years folks. The ratings are incredible and the general public loves the show. For every comic guy who disses the show there are thousands of regular guys/gals that love the show.
One more thing I keep hearing some of you dissing the comic and claiming the price is going to go way down. Well I’m glad I did not listen to any of you because the price has been going up the last couple of years. According to GPA the 2014 average price for a CGC 9.8 copy was $1,982. The 2015 average price was $2,075 and the current 90 average price is $2,424. The last copy sold went for $2,900.
Issue #2 will now cost you around $1,100 to obtain. The current 90 average price is $1,179. Plus for those of you who read the wanted to buy forum you will see ample collectors trying to get some of the tougher issues to find and they are offering over 200% of GPA for some issues.
Bottom Line: The Walking Dead is HOT. The comic is one of the best comics to hit the stands each month and the TV show is one of the most popular shows on TV. Of course some people don’t like it but the overwhelming majority of people do and that means the show and comic will be around for a long time.

Interesting. Personally, I couldn't have stated it better.

Anyone know where that auction was on here recently for that WD#1 Black Label, was thinking of another one..I can't find it.

I can't post pictures on my phone but gpa wd 1 cgc 9.8 SS
End of conversation
what part of "3-4 years from now" did you not understand ?
Too many people will have (and probably have already ) bought in at much higher than $1500 for that to be likely.
The book has transcended speculation a long time ago. One of the few books that got an alternative media bump to do so. It's legitimately mainstream now. When the show eventually does and there will be additional spin-offs, theatrical releases, reboots, syndication, etc. Kirkman has also said that the comic will continue on long after the show ends.
Speaking of the actual comic- it is a bona fide "run title" as well now (no pun intended). Collectors will not be selling the #1 out of their sets very lightly. I don't claim to predict what a book will or won't be worth in four years because external factors having nothing to do with the show or the title can impact that.
But as a comic, a franchise, and a piece of pop culture, with crossover appeal Walking Dead is as about as rock solid of a success story as you're going to get in this hobby. Period, exclamation point. (so if you don't already have one, get one, especially if you're a fan)

+1
Well said!
+2 , agreed, very well said. i think the problem is that people who don't like Moderns to begin with or like their older comics, just can't see how well a Modern is especially a major hit as the Walking Dead. This book will grow and grow, DEAD never dies, but we will.

Totally disagree and that's not because I own one, this book will Continue to rise as more Dead Movies appear, and yes, Fear does help this baby, sell more your 9.8's...
-
Bought an Amazing Fantasy 15 from me, paid extremely fast, excellent to work with, it was a pleasure, Enjoy..

Unbelievable, kept saying "it's coming, new stuff is coming"

Damn

She is going to do some Suicide Squad or Harley Quinn stuff for me too. Sometimes she freestyles and sometimes she does stuff like this.
I asked her to do the East of West in a Dragotta style with her mixed in it. I was very pleased with the outcome.
That's awesome work!
Is she selling that ? I want it
-
Whaaaa?
Credit goes to Romero, none of this exists without 'Night of the living dead'
My point exactly......
-
This bubble won't burst. This show will keep spinning off and off, there will be Zombie TV shows for life, and even if the actual walking dead movie ended, even the spin-offs, every Zombie movie series on TV will be credited because of the Walking Dead, keep on dreaming folks.

what if you already have a #1
I am sure as heck glad I kept my 9.8 #100 Lucille SS. Thought about selling that after I got it back. Still like it better than the foil version and less high grade on the census.
Buy another one..
-
These just came back from CGC
Super nice, been looking for one of those...
-
I agree, why not just buy a WD#1 9.8...
-
I want to put this in here, because I couldn't find a Harley appreciation thread.
This book was signed by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, last year in Niagara Falls. Then I had Oliver Castaneda to sketch Harley. I was super psyched when I saw it! Anyone else like it?
Ever think about selling it let me know..I am starting to look for a BA 12 9.8
-
That was mine. New GPA high! They paid too.
In celebration I will just leave this commission that my buddy Joe did for me here.
Keep me in mind, love it...
-
I would love to own that piece, if you ever sell it keep me in mind, great art ...
-
How many of those 22 9.9's are Black Labels is the real question?
-
Cast is weak, not enough Zombies, yet, but I too still want Moreeeeeeee..
-
Yeah, thx Ken, thx for keeping us updated.. (thumbs u

The Point is and I know a majority of people will agree, there are less Black Label vs White Label Walking Dead's, period. We don't even need BF's analysis to see it.
When will/will the WALKING DEAD bubble burst?
