  1. Same here. One of my birthday cakes was the cover to #58. The picture is somewhere. If I find it, I'll post it. FIND IT I'm heading back to NY next weekend. I'll see where my mom stashed it. Yes!
  2. I remember loving that book, but when I look at it now, all I can see is his misplaced head, .
  3. My parents bought me a 4.0 IH #181 for $50 at this same time, so that gives you a bit of a comparison.
  4. For a while. But this is just going off of my memory. I do NOT have any "proof", ... I shopped in the Louisville, KY market back then, and the store had a ton of traffic going in and out on a daily basis.
  5. If you like Deadpool, do yourself a favor, and read Remender's Uncanny X-Force.
  6. It was a $50 wall book where I lived prior to the release of X-Force #1. This was for a NM copy. I owned a VF copy, because that was all my 14 year old self could buy, .
  7. Picked this up last night. I have been looking for a copy for a while, and the presentation, and price, was in my wheel house.
  8. I'm not quite sure what you're disagreeing with. Wizard did not exist when Cable became popular. It hadn't been created yet. Gotcha. I just remember the books being on the top ten lists.
  9. I will have to disagree with that... UXM 201 and NM 87 were mainstays on its top ten lists each month for a while.
  10. Thanks! Yeah, I saw that price. Wish it got reported to GPA...
  11. Finally completed my trilogy! All three are from the Marvel Art Review Collection. "This comic book originates from the Marvel Art Review Collection, a significant collection consisting of deep runs of virtually all Marvel titles from the Silver Age through the Modern era, as well as select issues from DC and other publishers. This collection was assembled over decades by Arthur Gumbus, a passionate collector and aficionado of the comic art form. In the middle 1970s, Mr. Gumbus produced and published Marvel Art Review, an early fanzine for all things Marvel. Getting to know many of the artists and writers at Marvel personally during these booming days of Marvel fandom, Mr. Gumbus got the inside scoop directly from the source and was very active on the early convention circuit in the New York City region. The vast majority of the issues in this collection were purchased directly off the stands as they were released and carefully tucked away. This has resulted in very rich cover colors and high page quality, with nearly all of the comics certified as having White or Off-White to White pages, regardless of the assigned grade. We are very pleased to be offering examples from this impressive collection, which represents the decades-long dedication of a passionate collector and lover of the four color page. Each item from this collection will be accompanied by a special, ComicLink issued certificate containing information about origin of the collection."
  12. Won't be the same without the Marvel Movie side. It will be Old Man Logan in name only. No Red Skull, no Hawkeye, no Hulk clan, etc. Booooooooo.....
  13. Collecting, and reading, NM straight from the stands makes Cable so much better, in my opinion. That whole story line captivated me, and I loved the team that would become X-Force. Then he got his own mini, I saw the JRJR art, and barfed.
  14. Not sure how Fantomex would translate on the big screen, but I love the character.
