Man, I just got some of the #3's Im waiting on and 6 of them have little corner dings/bends near the bottom spine. Probably not as bad as I feel about them but they are still visible. The guy put them in old bag/boards that were too big for these and the board didnt even cover the bottom of the comic(Where they got bent), I dont even know what to do with these now *sigh* Hopefully the ones from midtown do not disappoint - havent had any trouble with them as of yet though

on midtowns site you can usually order a comic exactly a week before release date but if those run out prior to release the book never comes back in stock on their site.. last one i saw was NWM 3 and luckily i ordered those the wed before its release date cause they were out of stock by friday

in some cases the comic is sold out even before release date.. I like order 2 months ahead for the discount and sometimes I may grab more week beforre release pending more available info through interviews n such Im glad i dont have a budget for my comic hobby!

i love the idea of anti-spoilers but i think people are starting to catch on.. it was nice not rseeing previews prior to release as well..

Yeah Ill be adding later prints so long as the cover image continues to be different. Ill probably just grab 1 third print

Hey S... I have been saying a version of this. 95% of comic readers don't do comic forums (IMHO). Also, a larger portion don't want to mess with/take the effort to slab books. And even then I have never seen any real speculation discussion/interest on any of those comic forums either. A large number of people ive talked to in stores dont take advantage or know of previews/pre-orders and most of them are trying to get extra copies for resale when its at cover on release day at the LCS, most likely after they read it. Now they may be more aware of series becoming valuable after last year but most casual readers dont grab many extra copies ya know. Cover prices add up quickly so a lot of new people thinking about making investments get deterred easily unless they do the research.. Hell a lot of general readers probably have no idea there are ways to purchase comics online. I cant count the number of occasions where there have been talks about every store running out of an issue and then finding it on midtown or some other online spot as soon as I look. Ive seen slabs around and at cons but I didnt know a thing about them till I joined here.

Funny thing is I bet for every one of us that has decent preorder numbers there are at least 100 people only getting 1 copy. Ordering 100 copies is lame btw

Im in the same swaggar boat.. 5+ stores around the metro atlanta area and half of them have less than 30 customers it seems... Easy pickings

Haven't checked that one out, do they draw feet in this version?? tough crowd tonight I thought "PROPHET, NOW WITH 100% MORE FEET", would at least garner a chuckle from someone I laughed as much as I could for now when you posted 1st larry page I dont know why but that destroyed me

I know what you mean man.. I have some secondary shops were only certain clerks dont care about multiple copies. The other guys working will pull some bull mess about 1 per customer even on older issues like mind mgmt but when I go in the next day for another clerk he doesnt care if I take 10 Im just happy I can afford to spend money on books I think are decent when they first came out - ie I bought 4 mind mgmt #1 last year and now its paid off ha

Selling online is different than owning a shop.. They have more of a need to make sure issues make it to more than one person anyway. Youre getting mad over something he has the right to reject you on.. At least you got one But I agree first come first serve should be something every store follows

Some stores will turn around and pull this on you.. If im going into certain stores for hot issues only I try to spend as much money as I can on multiple titles so they cant say anything My main store doesnt care if I clean them out and I always get there at 1110 on wed.. He let me take every shelved item of Nowhere Men everytime recently. And they always ask if I want the rest of a certain back issue - hit me up and offered all the old sagas so he could move them in one sale. And my pull list usually has quantity on it anyway - got 10 copies of some series on my pull lists and they still allow me to take as many as I want on shelves.. I like the idea of first come first serve tbh... Its not like were buying every single series anyway and most indie books dont hit radars till after its blown up usually anyway

When people start saying they cant be found at shops anymore Ill probably let my 4 copies go. Id be happy getting 20-30 each if they are going over $60 after a day. Ive been sitting on these since release day so id be happy with that

Doesnt hurt to do the research and find out on your own either If you have to ask everytime you have already missed out.. Not to mention every post on these boards most likely has some sort of info you can use to help you on deciding whats hot and valuable at any given time anyway.

I can only hope, I preordered ten at the beginning of the month, feeling skeptical now, but if the book turns out to be a seller i would be overjoyed Some of my comic reading friends that read more than I do are out of the loop on a lot going on with regards to new and upcoming titles. Case and point, I asked a friend if he had heard of BEDLAM and REVIVAL last November. No to both (and this guy reads/pulls 15 titles + a month). Sent him a copy of each. BOOM!! Lovin' it. We'll see what happens though. I was suprised when I started to find out how many people I met that read comics and go to stores had no idea about previews/preordering/buying more than 1-2 copies

The first interview closer to when the book gets released is going to decide whether or not I add more copies. Im a fan of Hickman's creator owned so ill probably add enough to hit at least 20 once I hear a little more about it.
