  1. Yes, I just sold a Starslayer 9 & 10 (with #10 being a lower grade copy) along with a Grimjack #26 (early colour TMNT). It wasn’t exactly a record price, but they’re moving.
  2. I just sold a set of the original Fallen Angels miniseries (X-Fcator spin-off - and yes, sorry, it’s Copper), which seems to me like some kind of violation of the universe’s natural order. Not a lot of Boom-Boom fans out there...
  3. This is great info... thanks for sharing. My suspicion is though, that in the absence of other visible signifiers (like gold ink, DC universe logos, or Roman numerals) these may be just too obscure to catch on...
  4. Kid Eternity. This character seems custom-designed for episodic television, like Highway to Heaven or Quantum Leap. If they'd stop trying to make the revivals grim and gritty, there's a lot of potential here.
  5. Great thread - gamblers never talk about their losses! About 15 years ago, I listed a Mickey Mouse Story Book (1931) for auction. It went for $20, and probably should have gone closer to $1,000. Buy it Now has been my friend ever since. The good news was that I picked up the book at a used bookstore for $3.
  6. In the 2001-2003 period I used to scour ebay looking for bronze and copper lots in NM. I picked up many multiples of books like Ms. Marvel 1, She-Hulk 1, Eternals 1, etc. for $1-$2. I got a Sandman #8 editorial variant for 99 cents, and a 10-pack of NM Godzilla #1 for $9.99. The good old days!
  7. Tongue twisters must be different in your part of the world...
  8. Thor, Vision, Falcon, War Machine and Scarlet Witch with $5 left to buy some X-Men.
  9. At $150 a page, that’s like a $3,000 book... I’d say that wasn’t a bad purchase.
  10. Azincourt (which I believe was published in the U.S. as Agincourt) was amazing. i also enjoyed his nonfiction book about the Battle of of Waterloo.
  11. For the love of God, whatever you do, do not Google that phrase.
  12. Also apparently a little-known guest appearance of Young Uncle Sam from the Freedom Fighters.
  13. Calling the publisher is a good idea, but it certainly can’t hurt to post it here too... all it takes is one copy to prove something exists, and there’s some huge collections represented on these boards.
  14. Probably not... We still haven’t figured out what the first appearance of Huntress is, and that’s more than 40 years ago.
  15. The "corona" disambiguation page on Wikipedia has 65 entries. The "brad" disambiguation page has 12. Just saying...
  16. I one received a 96% on an English paper where I quoted "contemporary writer Jack Kirby", who said "Victory is sacrifice." This was, of course, taken from Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers.
  17. I agree - It seems to me that these are less "Dave Stevens covers" than "advertising images of Dave Stevens covers". I did raise this question several months back in the Dave Stevens thread in the Copper Age section of the Boards, and the consensus seemed to be that these books did not belong on the registry list.
  18. Could you please add the following books to the Adam Hughes Cover Set? Lady Death: Scorched Earth #1 Legend Edition (Coffin Comics, 5/19) - certification example 2053408004 Lady Death: Scorched Earth #1 "Virgin" Holo Foil Legend Edition (Coffin Comics, 5/19) - certification example 2053408005 Lady Death: Scorched Earth #1 Legend Noir Edition (Coffin Comics, 5/19) - certification example 2053408006 Sabrina: The Teenage Witch #V3 #1 Stadium Comics Sketch Cover (Archie Publications, 5/19) - certification example 2057115005 Thanks very much! Slots added. Thank you
  19. I once found a pence copy of the Gold Key/Whitman King Kong treasury edition online, and bought it - only to find when it actually arrived that it’s an odd size in between a magazine and a treasury. I’m not sure I understand the economics of printing a completely different edition, unless it was actually produced in the UK.
  20. There are two versions (different covers) of the Gold Key/Whitman Jungle Book treasury edition... I found those to be the hardest in high grade. The Christmas with Archie treasury was also tough.
  21. One of my favourites was always Superman #300, with a sort of “What if Superman landed on Earth today?” story, meaning he grows up in the future. I liked Superman #400, but to me it tried to replicate the magic of #300 and fell a little short...
  22. I collect CGC-graded DC Whitman variants, and I have quite a few with incorrect labels. The mistakes usually fall into one of two categories: 1. The label fails to note that the book is a Whitman variant. 2. The label gets the issue number (which often does not appear on DC Whitman covers) incorrect. Neither is that big a deal, but it plays havoc with my registry set.
  23. I find myself in SAN Juan, PR, and it’s a city I don’t know well.. any good comic shops that someone could recommend? My preference is for back issues rather than new... Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
  24. This was also my favourite DC period... I was 10 or 11 and spent weeks looking for books like Demand Classics. Last year, TwoMorrows published a book called Comic Book Implosion: An Oral History of DC Comics Circa 1978 which is well worth a look if this period fascinates you like it does me.
