  1. I went to a store today in Raleigh that had all the Rebirth books. Aren't they making a Nightwing? That's the only one I care about.

    Nightwing Rebirth scheduled release 7/13/2016

    Thanks!

Anybody know if there are any incentive variants? I've searched but can't find any info.

  2. This is why I never reveal who I buy stuff from. Apparently some jerk-off has emailed the seller and told him a bunch of lies about how I'm "trash talking" him. Unbelievable. Never doing this again.

get his ebay ID if you can.

    this is ridiculous.

+1. I'd try my best to find out.

I hate somebody did that to you. I've been on your side in similar situations.

  3. He messaged me once asking me sell a NM copy of NM 89 at a discount for his sick son who has dreamed about owning this book his whole life.

    That is disgusting.

"My son has a rare illness and is on life support, and he is barely conscious, but every so often he whispers and asks me to lean in so he can tell me that his biggest dream during what little life he has left is to own a nicely presenting copy of New Mutants #89. I tell him 'Son, we just can't afford it, even though it's your greatest dream,' and a single tear runs down his pallid cheek just before he leans back and drifts to a fitful, despairing sleep. But now I see that you have a copy of New Mutants #98 that looks like it might be the bright light that puts a little joy into my son's heart during these dark days, and if only you'd drop the price a little, say 30 or 45 percent, I could afford to make my son's remaining moments of his spirit-crushing existence a tiny bit less tragic. What say you?"

Tell him you will deliver the comic in person for free to the child at the hospital. You want to meet the kid and tell him how brave he is, and give him another full stack of comics to read.

lol THAT would have been hilarious.

  4. Although this was picked up at a small local con, I thought Id show off a bit...

    .25, haggled down from .50.....

It was like finding a Golden Ticket!!!!

I understand getting a deal. i believe as a seller, you should know what you have too. but to find a book like this for peanuts, and then STILL want a better deal is pretty foul.

Why is it assumed that it's the responsibility of the buyer to educate the seller? As a seller, if you can't take the time to educate yourself about what you're selling (internet makes it so easy!), then you've kind of 'made your own bed' on that one...

    ???

Who said anything about him educating the seller? All the comments are saying that the buyer knew the book he found, but wanted to save a quarter. That has nothing to do with telling the seller the book should be priced higher. Just pay the .50 and move on.

  5. Coasttocoastcomics is a fraud and has no honor on his word or transactions ...he sold me two books and tried convincing me to pay him out of ebay just to avoid ebay fees glad i didnt when it came down to ship me my books he send one book and wrong one to top it off and received emails from him being racist against me and saying profanity and vulgar things towards me he is not a man of word and who knows how long hes been doing this and claims he knows employees of ebay that help him remove any negative feedback no wonder hes been able to maintain 100 %

Can you provide a full account of the dialogue exchanged between you and Coasttocoastcomics so that others can see exactly what was said?

    +1

Maybe some screenshots of the conversation

  6. Also, this is almost a lose-lose situation. I remember people talking about how cool Carnage would be in a film. Now that it's a rumor, people are ripping it and saying they can't just skip Venom. On the other hand, if they announced they were going to have Venom, people would complain and say to do something we haven't seen in a film already.

  7. I'm amazed at all the time and energy that is put into the probation thread, The comic book hobby doesn't start and stop at whoever is on these boards. Me personally, I don't buy raw books off of eBay unless I've dealt with the seller before. If I do, it's not more than a few dollars. The double cover would have easily been caught if the book was opened when received. I'm not running to this con artist's defense but having a probation thread that hardly gets looked at doesn't fix anything, you make transactions at your own risk and even reputable members can turn sour at any point. I think some kind of feedback number under your screen name would be far more beneficial.

I think it serves its purpose. Every time I see a book I want to purchase or I receive a PM from someone who wants one of my books, I look over the PL and HOS list. I'm sure not everybody does, but the benefit is there.

  8. I don't think I would offer 25% of the asking price, especially if it's a tough book to find. When it's not a common book, sometimes it's best to buy it while you can. It sounds like even 75% of the asking price is too high in your opinion. If that is the case, I'd probably look elsewhere or purchase multiple books for a better discount.

  9. discuss an actual modern that's heating up

    Venom #2 second print

Agreed. I had the first print on my wall at Heroes and had NUMEROUS people ask me for the second. I've never actually seen one in person.

Tough book and BEAUTIFUL too ! Trying to get them out of other collectors hands is damn near impossible... for good reason !

    Which Venom...

I'm guessing the 2011 series with the red background  . I couldn't find any listed on eBay or other sites. I could be wrong, though.

    Venom #2 2nd print (2011)

I just don't like the way he's holding that gun. I dig the 4th print pink cover for issue 1 but I am not sure how tough it is ti find.

    I've only ever seen one.

I've seen a couple. I bid on an auction a couple months ago that had all the #1 prints. I think I only went up to $50 because I don't really collect Venom. I can't remember what it ended up selling for and can't find it in the completed auctions.

  10.

It was actually the weirdest post ever. Only parts of it were visible for some reason but when you quoted the post all this extra stuff showed up and the spoons multiplied like tribbles. I wouldn't have known but someone mentioned it in the thread so I looked and they were correct. It went from 2 sentence spoonfest to full on rant.

    I think I have a new favourite word. :cloud9:
