Ken, when does Todd #9 come out?

 

My mom just asked me the same question!

MK is trying to get a certain amount finished before we solicit #9, because he's concerned about his schedule (BABY + DAY JOB + TODD = SLOWNESS) and doesn't want any shipping delays mid-arc. So far we have blown through the summer target we'd set for ourselves. Will have a new target soon.

If you see me on Friday at SDCC hanging out with a couple guys...that'll give you a clue about the next stage of development for the TODD show.

 

Sorry for my absence...

I've been in a writing k-hole for the last few weeks. I'm writing TODD #13, INDESTRUCTIBLE #10, "SECRET IMAGE COMICS PROJECT" #1, "NEW PUBLISHER GRAPHIC NOVEL PROJECT", and just sold a pitch to Participant (same producers who did Syriana and Lincoln). My brain and my fingers have blisters.

Ken.. Will you have anything good for us SDCC attendees??

I was hoping the full-size TODD statue would be ready for pre-order at SDCC --- but the new prototype got dropped and shattered. True story. So it'll be launched at another upcoming show.

HOWEVER, I will have an exclusive TODD print for anyone coming to my signings...

IDW booth on Saturday, 10am-11am.

Image booth on Sunday, 10am-10:45am.

So will Ken and M.K. be at next week's Comic Con?

MK is enjoying his brand new daughter on a European beach this summer -- so he will not make it to SDCC.

"Soon" as in "as soon as we get it into Sundance!" Hopefully.

We just wrapped tonight on RONNIE BoDEAN, a little movie I co-wrote and co-produced. Wes Studi plays the title character.

The little boy on the right...we named him Todd.

YEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I was such a doubter that conservative Wal-Mart would let you get away with a review that intones hookers and genitals. But they did! Progress. Thanks, Sam -- great review.

As far as I'm concerned, we're all one big (Belluomo) family on this board. So I try and keep you in the loop as much as I can.

Going through Todd withdrawals. Any update, on anything?

I'm hoping for some big announcement at SDCC. Could be the next arc's release schedule; animated series teaser; TODD statue/toy information; The Albanian information/teaser; etc.

 

Whatever it is, I hope it's something! Oh and if it's an SDCC exclusive; I want it!

 

We are trying to coordinate #9 with the statue and the game and TV news -- one big push this year. That's four different companies on three continents trying to throw a dart at the same date on the calendar. Not easy.

Sam -- that makes me wanna see that movie!

To paraphrase myself in the yet to be posted review - "Buy this book, because at this price, it is cheaper, safer, and more fun, than a streetwalker with her original teeth."

Hahaha! I have my doubts that Wal-mart is going to post that, so I'm glad you paraphrased.

Reminds me...I once did a ride-along with some cops from the Tulsa street crimes unit and they said, "How can you tell which Tulsa prostitute is an undercover officer? She's the one who has all her teeth."

I just went on Amazon to check out the reviews of TPB Volume 2 and I gotta say, again, thank you.

Insightful -- I think I learned a few things I didn't know about Todd!

And hilarious -- you should be writing funny books!

When I saw Ken at ECCC he made it sound like they would have them at SDCC.

The latest update is that they will have them for pre-order at SDCC. More news and photos of it soon....

Can I implore everyone to write a TODD TP Volume 2 review (even if you just say "Great read!" or whatever) on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Comixology, etc.

Especially those who said they liked Vol 2 even better than Vol 1.

Right now we've got zero reviews for Vol 2! For shame...

We're aiming for the next arc to start Sept.

Six issues (9 thru 14). Arc title: "Money Bawl"

MK's working on issues 10/11 right now. Soliciting for late summer.

Teaser: Todd wants to join the Boy Scouts but his parents won't pay for the uniform. He ends up joining Joseph Kony's child army by mistake. Every major terrorist group makes an appearance.

Will you and M.K. be at SDCC this year Ken?

I will be, but MK will be busy with TODD (...and his new baby)...

Speaking of getting intellectual by reading Todd, my most embarrassing Todd story occurred last year when I was in Federal Court waiting to be called or dismissed from jury duty. We were in a large room, it was early, quiet, very quiet. There I go reading Todd and all of a sudden I burst out laughing out loud and people of course stared at me like I was looney... the security guards gave me dirty looks...

Heh-heh-heh. Order in the court!
