  1. Ken talk to Image and print up 250 blanks. Don't release them but bring them to the shows with M.K. The only way to get one is if M.K. commissions the sketch.

That would be cool for die hard Todd fans (thumbs u

Sorry Ken you can do some sketches on the blanks too ;)

If Kirkman can,so can you!! lol

I'll see what I can do....

  2. Is there any creator on here who interacts/connects more with his core audience than Ken. Ken u have really created this huge (I am guessing somewhat dysfunctional) family that is emotionally invested in your success.

Todd has trouble making friends. He should try message boards!

Thanks, guys -- this community means the world to me.

  3. THIS JUST IN:

I will be attending Amazing Arizona Con, January 24-26. Anyone going?

    Woo!

Sending a guy with my books to get signed! Will you have any goodies I can tell them to grab for me? :)

Will have prints, T-shirts, all the issues, the trade. And....

...Possibly TODD drink coasters (!!) and stickers that one of our European publishers is making....Just heard about those today. They are apparently distributing the coasters to bars in Europe to help promote the book over there. I told them to send me some. Can't wait to put Todd under my cocktail.

  4. Been watching for a little bit and decided I might as well go swimming...hands down my favorite comic out there. Devious in all the right ways. Ken my compliments on taking a medium that can be difficult to illicit actual "belly busting" laughter and turning it on its ear.

    WTTB!

Thanks for the compliments -- we've got some great stuff lined up for issues 9-14. Todd's grandfather (Peggy's dad) shows up, as do terrorists...

    Ken,

Will the show follow the comic or go in its own direction?

    Thanks

We are taking what works from the book and adapting it to the show. Some small things in the book are becoming entire episodes.

  6. Can anyone tell me what issues will be contained in the second arc?

I picked up the first trade and really enjoyed it and want to start getting the singles issues once the 2nd arc is complete. I'll be getting the 2nd trade when it comes out.

One thing I really enjoyed besides the creativity was the panel layouts. Not enough artists do smaller panels, especially 4 high on a page, Bagge and Bachalo are 2 that come to mind but otherwise it doesn't seem to be used that often.

Hi Coutstevo -- yep, #5-8 are the 2nd arc. #8 came out New Years Day. Thanks for your support!

FYI -- working on the 3rd arc now -- 9-14 (our first six issue arc!)...

  7. I'll try to make this as short as possible.

My girlfriends dad is dying from lung cancer (smoker) and his days are very limited.

Most of her family lives out of town and all have come down to say their final goodbyes.

I've have been spending everyday over there helping her mom get things in order and what not. Tonight I brought some books with me to get caught up on some reading.

After dinner most were sitting around the table talking of old times and fond memories.

I figured this would be a good time to exit and head to the living room to catch up on the adventures of TODD.

I could tell the conversation had turned for the worse and tears started to fall. Not feeling very comfortable joining in I continued to read.

I must of got caught up because before I knew it I was laughing out loud, not a good choice considering the mood in the house. I quickly realized how insensitive I was being and gathered myself.

Not a moment later my girlfriends sister walked in the room I was in and asked what was so funny. I apologized and told her I got caught up in the world of TODD.

She said no need to apologize but let me see what your reading.

I gave her my reader copy of #1, she started to read and within minutes I could see her facial expression change and a smile appear. Soon after that a few chuckles followed by laughter and giggles.

This drew the attention of the rest of the house and before I knew it TODD had 6 adults (ages ranging from 36 to 52) laughing and carrying on.

TODD turned a house full of adults with heavy hearts to a house full of adults with warm happy hearts. I guess laughter can sometimes be the best medicine.

Ken I want to thank you for helping a family escape the harsh realities of life even if it was only for one evening.

Who knows maybe that night will carry on into the coming days and make what is next a little more bearable.

    Many many thanks Ken!

    Brandon

Brandon -- my heart goes out to you and your girlfriend's family. My father died of lung cancer (and all the other stuff that goes with smoking 2 packs a day for 30 years). Saddest thing in the world. I'm so glad the misadventures of the Belluomo family helped provide a respite from the tears. Thank you for sharing.

  8. Next arc is a 6-issue opus. Todd's family gains a new social status.

I like the sound of that. Todd's dad is my favorite character... I bet he is fun to write for. :applause:

Bummer on the three-month wait tho. We need our fix!

Good things come to those who wait....

Yeah guys, let him take his time. He has to crank out that TV deal at the moment :)

And MK (ahem, and his beautiful wife Ashley) is cranking out a baby soon. Sometimes life gets in the way of art!

Oh, and yes, Gus is SO much fun to write.

  10. Loved #8

I do wish Todd would have stayed n Hell a little longer, so much to do there. But man, there were some great characters introduced. Todd's world is coming along nicely.

And the added bonus on the back. ^^

Not gong to spoil it, but it's something many have been  about. And there is one for you.

hm now when does the next arch start Ken? And any clues to what it's about.

Hell ain't goin' nowhere -- so Todd can go back any time...

Next arc is a 6-issue opus. Todd's family gains a new social status. Let's leave it at that for now. The 2nd trade paperback comes out April 2nd, so we'll have #9 out soon after that.
