  1. Hmmm, maybe I got lucky? 24 books Modern Fast Track Rec'd 06/06 Shipped Safe 06/28 all slabbed in the "new" new cases.
  2. Its not a buying and selling group? The first post on the main page is the site owner running a raffle. Plenty of buying and selling goes on there, either through private sales, ebay listings or via links to the buy/sell/trade sub-forum on the blowout cards forum. Also at the site's owners and mods crapping on Indy for posting links to his external site where he features book speculation. That guy has made hundreds if not thousands of dollars for many members of that group. Similarly linguini and larry have been treated like garbage there, as has that topher guy from investcomics. But yes please tell me again how that board is entirely credible. Oh wait, you're a moderator there...don't even bother. I'm a moderator over there. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have, because this garbage you wrote is so far off base that it's comical. Let me address some of your nonsense here. Anyone that joins our groups knows we have fun mostly and just b.s. about comics and speculation. i've gone on the record about what nonsense that wolverine test tube spec was, but fact of the matter is a member there pointed out relevant info no matter how silly i and others think it is. also it didn't start to take off on ebay until whoever the hack is over at bleeding cool boosted the info a few days later and wrote a story on it. we have fun over there and the cynical cry babies like you are kept to a minimum. we use real names over there and a lot of great relationships are made. it's a hell of a group. people share stories and photos of comics and their collections. it's a great source of information. indy/pinky got grief for posting his blog link cause he didn't ask for permission first and just started spamming it, it nothing more nothing less. jimmy, dakoit, hokness, tony chu, topher, and others are welcomed with open arms and are freely allowed to post links to their blogs. all they had to do was ask first and make sure it was okay. indy/pinky i'm sure will be able to do the same with a little communication and forewarning in the future. also what's wrong with having a b/s/t forum? that's what makes this hobby fun is it not? i've met some great people and made some awesome trades. Raffles are just something that is done for fun every so often, and most members get a kick out of it. Winning a CGC 9.6 Batman Adventures #12 for a 20.00 gamble? the deal with the scalped issue is a joke at this point. we can't help what people do with the info, no more than members here can help what happens to spec info posted. all the site owner did was link a comment that latour made about working with the aaron on scalped that lead to them coming up with the idea for southern bastards. no one ever said hey look it's the 1st app of earl tubbs. old news. you sure know a lot about our groups so you must lurk and troll over there often. what is the most funny is that all the guys you mention like jimmy and larry post over there often and have a good time. they have mentioned numerous times how much more they enjoy it over there than here for the facts i mentioned above. it's funny you say larry is treated like there, when it would impossible for him to get more mess than he does in these forums. we've even had some talks with larry about doing our own variant for the groups just for fun. we've raised money for members, and picked up members when they were down. we've ran drives to send comics to our troops, and are always looking for cool things to contribute and help the hobby. not sure what your vendetta is about the group but get over yourself dude. feel free to ask me any questions you got.
  3. These are the new 2014 set. Issues #7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 Last years Set was different. oh, ok makes sense now. i thought these were for last years set. my bad. carry on.
  4. awesome, looks like a lot of people are able to get one. are these extra sets frank had stashed away for a rainy day? being that this supposed to be limited to 50 sets i figured these would have instantly sold out at sdcc last year? no? or is this wrong information i'm working with here? either way really happy to be able to get in on this.
  5. me too!!!!!!!! i'm in. awesome. thanks frank!!!!!!!
  6. probably a lot. i hope i got to him in time. awesome gesture for sure whether i get in on this or not. frank and chris deserve all the success they are having and more. congrats guys.
  7. thank you for contacting me and making this right. i appreciate your being forthcoming, and resolving this easily. it happens, we all like to buy comics and overextend ourselves sometimes.
  8. yeah. to be honest i was prepared to just let this go, put him on my ignore list and move on. methinks after reading all this i'm gonna hold his feet to the fire now, or else how will he ever learn? i would still let him pay for the books and move on, but not sure i would deal with him again beyond that point.
  9. lmfao, wow dude! you just blew my mind with this post. lmfaoooooooooo. you don't have the right to be accusing anyone of anything. what a hypocrite this kid is. let me tell everyone what i went through with this member last weekend. everyone, this guy jabberboxxx asked me for pricing on some books last weekend in my sales thread. i then gave him a package deal, and he said done deal. he agreed to purchase and asked for my paypal. i told him i would be posting more books over the weekend and would be happy to extend him a tab in case i had other books he wanted to which he agreed. so sunday evening comes. i contact jabber to see if i had anything else he wanted, and if not asked him to settle up so i could get paid and ship out his books. sunday, no response. contact him again monday morning, no response. finally i guess he gathered up the nerve to contact me monday night telling me he spent all his money on the vcc over the weekend and couldn't purchase the comics he agreed to buy from me. so basically i get screwed over by him for being a nice guy and offering a tab, instead of getting payment immediately. he agreed to purchase books from me, even leaves a message in my thread saying he will take said books, then proceeded to spend all his money elsewhere after agreeing to purchase from me. then when i get mad at him and tell him i should report him to a mod for probation, he has the nerve to tell me i'm overreacting reacting and being overzealous. i told him i would contact a mod on this matter to see what the proper steps are, he begs me not to contact one, saying he is new and doesn't know any better. i was even going to just let it go and move on, and then i find him here in these probation threads complaining about a bunk deal with another member? wow dude, you call the kettle black much. kind of poetic you got screwed over by the guy you more than likely spent all your money with, and now aren't even getting the comics. some might call that karma. just a public service message so everyone knows what type of person they are dealing with here, this guy deserves no pity in my opinion when he is also being shady with other members at the same time. i was going to let this whole matter go, but to see this guy complaining about someone else after what he did to me is a little too much. unreal. enoy your popcorn, .
  10. not too many gi joe issues on my list. mostly just trying to get some of the keys, and finally found one of them last week. scooped it up for a cool dollar in a big lot of books i bought last weekend. super stoked.
  11. those have been getting those prices for quite awhile now, but one i never see mentioned much is asm 601. that book is starting to sell over 30 pretty regularly now too, but it never gets as much attention as all the black cat covers for some reason. it is reaching iconic cover status imo, and only getting more popular, you see tons of cosplayers recreating that cover now.
  12. sweet, although i'll have to claim some ignorance on dell comics. i love shopping craigslist though. you have to be willing to gamble though, cause a lot of the times your took hours out of your day to go look at 6 long boxes of of malibu comics. .
  13. A few weeks ago off of craigslist for 40 bucks. NM 98 is a easy 9.6 too.
  14. nice to see sets of these going up. i picked up quite a few of them last year in dollar bins, can probably still find em in there i imagine. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thanos-Imperative-1-6-Complete-Set-2-One-Shots-Guardians-of-the-Galaxy-/281270736083?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item417d0ad4d3
  15. i'd watch bryan cranston sit in a chair and talk to a wall for 3 hours. so good.
  16. Okay, if that copy that you can't even see with bad pic and still in the bag sold for that, I might just go and put my strict 9.4+ dupe. copy up tonight for $300. Thoughts? lmao. you and everyone else with a nm copy in their long boxes. personally i don't see any gotg related book going anywhere but up well into the summer. remember this movie doesn't even come out until august, the hype will be full steam until then. still plenty of press and advertising to come. with that said i will still be listing one of my copies tomorrow just in case that 150 was a real auction. .
  17. Only took you a year to learn how to post, not bad I don't understand your post. Is it a joke? Or are you serious? It was a very poor joke. My post count is ridiculous in comparison to his *sigh* Anyways.... well hey, at least you tried, . thanks for the welcome anyway. one last question about shipping. i'm hip to the sandwich method and that is the only way i pack anyway. however is it acceptable to ship media mail here, or does everything need to be 1st class or priority? also when i ship up to 4 or 5 comics i use a oversized bubble mailer with sturdy cardboard sandwiching. is that okay or will that get me roasted here? i've used this shipping method the past 2 years on ebay w/out incident, but don't want to anyone here off. thanks.
  18. i think copper is here to stay. a lot of it has been massed produced w/ astronomical 90's print runs sure, but like others are saying the rule of 25 definitely applies here. also not sure if this has been brought up, but even though there are a lot of coppers in the market, how many of the keys that people are looking for are really worth a flip grade wise. high grade books are few and far in between now 20+ years later. i see plenty of ragged nm 98's but most people don't want them. many have just been lost to time, so the print run of a collector worthy copper book is much less than the actual print run of the book.
  19. hi guys. can anyone give me some suggestions on selling here. i've been a member and was posting regularly about a year ago. then life happened and i had to move away from buying and selling comics for a while. i'm now back and in the game, and am actively buying and selling again, and would like to be able to sell and buy here. any tips you can give me?should i be selling only certain things at first until people get to know me better? am i still considered too much of a noob and therefore considered untrustworthy? is there another area i should be posting these ramblings in? any links on the info i'm looking for you can point me too? i know this is a pretty tight knit community so any help to get along and be more involved in these selling forums would be helpful. thanks.
  20. i'd be more than happy to relieve you of your burden for 50 bucks if the condition is right.
  21. wow!! very nice. i would of loved to get in on this. where do offers like this get posted? the sales thread or the sig room?
  22. its been like this from the beginning sigh why do you have such a problem with the people over on blowout. there are a lot of good people over there who are just as knowledgeable as members here. hell a lot of them are members here like cujo, johnc, and others. also viper is about as welcome over there as he is over here. i've already had it out with him too on his methods and his arrogance. can't stand the dude personally. so i have a question why are people on blowout so dumb, why is it the blind leading the blind, when most of us are doing and talking about the same things you and others over here do. i know some here think we just lurk here all day and run over and parrot info which is just not true. not saying that it doesn't happen. some guy came in spamming larry's market reports, like anyone gives a mess about them. but for the most part it's a lot of simialr minded dudes chopping it up about comics, just in a smaller number and on a sportscard forum. really it's not hard to spot trends, and read websites, and look at ebay and come up with similar opinions. is it because this is the cgc forum so it is much cooler? just curious cause you are obviously aware of the board as small as it is, but why does it bug you so much because you have tried to bagged on the forum quite a few times.
  23. the biggest joke of that article was the writer mentioning that whoever bought that case of spawns could easily flip it for 2k, really? gtfo, lmfao. then again someone is paying 26 bucks for a single issue so who knows.
  24. i've heard this argument try to be made before, not sure by who though. but when you say this are you trying to say this is just his first appearance in comic book form, or his first appearance in the marvel universe? if you are saying this is his first app in 4 color form then i can kind of get on board, but if you are making the case that this is his first app in marvel period the i have to disagree. agents of shield was just a comic book tie in to the movie. i think his appearances in battle scars 1 and 6 will be the one everyone wants as it's his first in continuity app, and the one everyone will consider cannon.
