In the 1960's, the comicbook industry was in a bad way and dropping rapidly lower. Rumor has it that Stan Lee himself almost quit (could you imagine if that actually happened!) But! Marvel did the best thing they ever could have and handed Stan the reigns to let him take one last shot at turning the industry around before it colapses. Arming himslef with Jack Kirby at his side, the 2 created a comicbook series that saved the industry. The Fantastic Four was this series being released in November of 1961!!! Without this comicbook being released superheroes may not have been what we know them as today... This story is why I went on the journey I did, purchasing a set of FF #1 - # 20 comics and having them all signed by Stan Lee! 11 of these are the highest grade SS with Stans Signature in the world! This journey spanded over 7 years for us collecting and getting Stan to sign them before the great man himself passed away. But now unfortunately the time has come to sell, so my brother in law and I have put all these beauties up for auction in the latest Comic Connect auction. My brother in law and I started this as a small dream in 2012 which ended up turning in to reality. Our goal was to own a set of original Fantastic Four's, #1 through to #20 all signed by Stan Lee. Once we completed this goal, we aimed to own the highest grade Fantastic Four's with Stan Lee's signature on them. It took us around 7 years to get as far as we did and we ended up with 11 of the 20 as the highest grade with 8 of them being the single highest grade. Anyone who knows me would have heard me say it but we achieved the highest graded #1-#20 set of Fantastic Four's with Stan Lee's Signature, in the world!! We put all of our spare available money into these comics for years to try and get as far as we could before the great man himself left this world. Rest in peace Stan With great power comes great responsibility. So that's why my brother in law and I have reluctantly decided to pass on this amazing collection to a new home. These are currently going under the hammer in the latest Comic Connect Event Auction. We hope the next owners of these historical comics, care and cherish these as much as we did.
