  1. Has anyone received their sketched volume 2 hardcover from Matt?

EDIT Nevermind. I see that the book came out this week. I guess I'll be patient and enjoy issue 16 :tonofbricks:

    #16 today!

  2. They are reprinting the Gaiman/Buckingham run with "restored art" similar to their Marvel Masterworks line.

Then Gaiman and Buckingham will finish the series with 10 new issues starting with #25

  3. I just had an epiphany about the covers for 10 and 15...

There are more blue dots on the cover to 15. I think the blue Oppenheimer's will turn the tide in the war in Oppenheimer's head.

An epiphany? More like the only obvious conclusion, surely...! Especially since the date range on #10 is 1950-1959 and on #15 its 1960-1969...

The subtitle on both is "Finite Oppenheimers", which also points in that direction, and refers back to issue #1, which was subtitled "Infinite Oppenheimers"

    :makepoint:

I clearly don't have as high of a comic IQ as you do.

  4. And as for your TWD example before the show #1 was selling for less than Saga #1 is selling for now.

Bingo. Exactly what I was talking about above. Without the franchise (TV show, toys, movie, video games) Saga will never take off like TWD has.

And don't get me wrong people. Saga is my favorite book right now.

  5. Secondary market value is not based on the quality ofthe book. :gossip:

Sad but true. Especially in the Modern era... All those books that are mentioned above (Y, Preacher, Sandman) are amazing reads and all of them contain some of the best storylines in the history of the medium, but I don't think they will ever retain a value in the secondary market unless they setup a franchise.

Look at all the Marvel and DC books/movies. TWD. Hellboy. If there isn't hope for a franchise, the book probably won't retain it's value

  6. From Multiversity

"Saga #1: #40, estimates of 37,641 issues sold

Saga #13: #22, estimates of 55,372 issues sold

That’s growth of over 47% in a 12 issue span! That is freaking gigantic, and speaks volumes about the buzz behind this book and the viability of the way they release the book. Incredible stuff from the team for Saga and Image."

    47%!
