  1. Man, I am getting priced out of Sal Hulk artwork. The page from 201 went for $3,005 which is waaaay higher than I thought it was going to end at. Really nice page but not a splash or big shots of the Hulk.
  2. depends on the price, it if was reasonable, I would probably pick it up. Reasonable of course is all in my head.
  3. I am a broken record but Sal Buscema, problem is the prices are getting to be too high.
  4. It really does fall down to content in the pages. I just recently paid way more than I thought I would ever do for a Sal panel page only because of the content. It was almost as much as I paid for a Sal Hulk splash page a year or so earlier but given the page content, I was good with it.
  5. there is nothing like holding that page in your hand when you finally get that package.
  6. The answer will of course change from time to time but for right now I would say this death of Jarella page from my favorite artist Sal Buscema. really impacted me as a kid reading this issue.
  7. If anyone knows any Deodato collectors, send them my way!! Thanks!
  8. This is the variant cover for Incredible Hulk #2 from Mike Deodato for the 50th anniversary of Marvel. This is a homage to the classic Iron Man #128 cover Demon in a Bottle with this one called Monster in a Bottle. $5000 OBO
  9. wow, can't believe someone would do that to a vintage cover like that. painful to see.
  10. wow, that is an impressive collection of artwork.
  11. That makes zero sense. A piece of OA in a portfolio does not make it not art. All the stuff that my kids made for me in elementary school are not in frames on my wall, does that mean that is not art either? Your absolute statement is not logical.
  12. a random person just emailed me and asked if I was interested (I have run various Hulk websites for the last 20+ years)
  13. crazy price for the McF Hulk cover. One thing that frustrates me about Comiclink is their search function only looks at the title, not the content. When I did a search for Hulk, it never came up with the Wolverine pages. Frustrating.
  14. wow, I paid $75 for mine. Guess I got a great deal
  15. Anyone have any of these? I know they melted them down a lot to reuse the metal so not sure how many survived. I would love to find some more Hulk plates if they are out there somewhere. This is the cover to Hulk 262 along with the cheesy ads
  16. My opinion: Loved the experience, got me "con-level" excited for when it was going to open. They did a great job on setting it up and organizing it, looks of great pieces up! There were definitely some artwork I had no seen before. Only bad thing was I was only looking for one particular artist/title combo and there were some nice pages but they were all definitely over what i would consider current market value. I have no problem paying for pages but I don't want to overpay just to get the page. Was really cool to see the pages though, hope they do this again.
  17. looking forward to this tomorrow, hoping for a new Sal Hulk to pop up! Is the max a dealer can list 18?
  18. Not really sure, but I really want to pick up a page or more at some point. I really liked Herbs artwork on the Hulk book but loved his Godzilla work.
  19. I usually get artwork delivered to my office as someone is not at my house all the time but this is one of the things that always worries me if I don't take art home immediately.
  20. That had to take a good long time to do all those faces.
  21. If you are old like me, you probably had a Presto Magix or two when you were a kid. Loved those things, had both the Hulk ones they released. Dave Cockrum did the character drawings for one of them and around 20 years ago, he was selling the 6 pages that he drew them on up on eBay. He originally had them posted as Shrinky dinks but I messaged him to let him know what they were really for. He was selling all six pages for $300 each and I put a bid on them figuring I would easily be overbid. Nope, I was the only bidder. I ended up mailing him the original Presto Magix I had saved as a kid and he signed it and sent it back with the original artwork. Not sure what it is worth nowadays since it is not OA per se but I love the fact that Dave drew the Hulk and all his rogues back then.
