  1. I agree. I really liked the preview. I've heard that the preview may not actually be in the book. Anybody know for sure ?

Nope, not in the book. I don't know, I liked the art, especially in the opening prologue scene. It may not be the best art ever, but its creepy where it needs to be and fits the tone of the story.

  2. I don't know I would say that it was bad -- more bizarre -- but at NYC Special Edition this year, I took a couple of Afterlife with Archie books up to Francesco Francavilla to get signed. He promptly informed me that he only did signatures during the last 15 minutes of every hour. I'd never heard of that before -- and neither had anyone else at the CGC table. It certainly was pretty bizarre for someone who had no line at his table, and, at the magic fifteen minute mark, had a grand total of two people there.

  3. 8 has a great cover too

    1st Gwen, too.

This is what I was about to say! (thumbs u

#3 is one of my favorite covers, but it's too dark.

#4 (but that seems very common).

#8 - First Gwen, Awesome cover (probably my favorite of the series) and the black or silver sig would jump out with the light blue background.

#18 is a favorite of everyone's, but it's pretty dark.

My choice after reviewing all of them would definitely be #8! 2c

+1 - sounds like a pretty good list. No. 6 is also a great cover - silver sig would look real nice.

  4. The art is terrible.

The primary job of a comic book artist is to draw panels that flow well and tell a story. Somewhere, in the last ten years, that's been replaced by blurry, impressionistic art. A reader shouldn't have to look at a panel for an extended period of time to parse out what the image is trying to convey.

I don't find it a coincidence that there hasn't been a hot artist since Michael Turner burst upon the scene. Even Don Newton told a story better than your average current artist.

It's crazy how subjective art is and how different people are. I enjoy trying to figure out what's going on in a panel. I generally enjoy impressionistic art. I respect your opinion, but it think it's silly to say comics "should" be a certain way.

Yeah, I really liked the art. Thought it was incredibly strong and unique, and really complemented the feel of the story very well.

  5. So I had a chance to read this book last night - Remender is on a roll with his Image titles. This may be the best of the three out there right now, and the artwork is incredible. Absolutely digging this book so far.

If it is better than Deadly Class I am impressed.

Really looking forward to getting a chance to read a copy.

I like Deadly Class, but I liked Low more, so far at least. Deadly Class has some great bits, but it sometimes (at least to me) seems like Remender gets lost trying to tell us how cool he was in the '80s, although I thought the Fear and Loathing arc was pretty great. Low feels like a more mature and complex story than Deadly Class.

  6. You also had the best pick in the draft imo lol

I would have preferred The Flyers took a forward who could step into the lineup this year or next, but I see what Hextall is doing with building a strong young defense

Homer really hamstrung Hexy without any cap room and a depleted system. It's going to be a bit of an uphill battle for a year or two.

  7. Hilarious ! what did you get ? lol

Bunches of RQ #1s, but those were expected...

The booms were RQ #1 Staples, Scalped #1, Harley Quinn #4 RRP, Invincible Ottley Sketch , Walking Dead 127 sketch all 9,8

Just wondering, did the WD 127 sketch have a bindery tear? My copy has a small one, wondering how that is affecting grades.

No bindery tears at all, honestly I thought it had a shot at 9.9

Thanks. Well, here's to hoping they treat the bindery tears kindly . . .

That cover is still awesome, no matter what happens to this book.

I agree but every time that I look at it, it makes we wonder what could have been.

Well, if you don't want to look at it any more, I'm sure someone could find a nice home for it

  10. So I went back through Scalped. I read it two years ago. No one can possibly still believe this is Earl Tubb.

    Scalped16p05_zpsf0f16745.jpg

#16 page 5. Actually appears on page 4, but page 5 he says his name.

    scaled_54_010_zps04ed9207.jpg

#54 page 9. He gets shot in the head. Dead body is shown face down on page 10.

Yeah, spot on. The suggestion that this is Earl's first appearance is just silly. Or fraudulent. Take your pick.

  11. I'm hoping it turns out to be:

    "This is the story of..

how my parents split up.. for a few days and then get back together and live happily ever after!"

Just finished reading it. Was a quick read.

that last page made me sad

The last page was a bit of a gut punch

  12. you dont want to watch her breast feed???

Once you see a woman breast feed you lose interest on those things for a while, IMO…

…And on topic, when is the next issue of Saga coming out? I feel like it has been months…

Wednesday . . . and if you think breast-feeding makes you lose interest in lady parts, wait until you see the first page of the next issue.
