  1. I'm debating buying a high dollar ASM1 on ebay, and have a question about my rights if I choose to have it graded after I receive it. As we all know, the comic could have restoration (glue on spine, light color touch etc) on it that is very had to detect with the naked eye, and the seller is unaware of... or knows of and is choosing not to admit. So if the seller lists the item, says nothing about restoration either way, and I buy it and it looks good to the naked eye...but I then have it graded by CGC, and it comes back purple label, would I still be able to dispute it through ebay if it's within 30 days? Anyone have any experience with this situation? I would think this falls under 'SOL' because I chose to have it graded and he made no guarantees it wasn't restored. But on the other hand I could also possibly see it falling under 'not as described' since it's restored and I didn't knowingly purchase a restored comic. I appreciate any feedback and would love to know if anyone has come across this situation before and what Ebay's stance would be. Thanks!!
  2. Picked up this FF1 with heavy tape on the spine and 2 extra staples added. I'm guessing it's around a 1.0? But not sure. I'm also curious if CGC would consider that much tape to be restoration or not?
  3. I have graded book that I'm wondering if it's been tampered with in the case? Just looks funny to me, maybe it's nothing, but at the top left on the back there is a jagged diagonal line with what looks like a piece of plastic hanging. There's also something weird going on across the word "pedigree" to the left.... This book was graded in 2008, but I just got it. Does this look weird to you guys, or is there a reasonable explanation for it? Thanks!!
  4. I know there are a few af15 related threads on here, but I felt like this was probably a separate discussion. My bad if this has already been addressed in one of them. As most, if not all, of us know, the price of af15 has skyrocketed in the past 3-5 years or so. A mid grade that used to go for $5-$7k at auction is now commanding over $25k. Craziness. I've been collecting since the late 80s, and can't personally remember any one comic jumping so much in value in such a short amount of time? But maybe there are 1 or 2 I'm overlooking? Anyway, I was having this discussion with my brother the other day. Wondering if this current value for the book will hold and steadily keep rising, or if it's set for a crash. I feel like the popularity in Marvel movies and Marvel getting back Spidey rights has definitely helped this book go up in value, but of course there are factors as well. I doubt I'll ever have the cash to own this book if it does hold it's value, which really sucks because I'm a few non-key books (not counting ASM1) away from having ASM 2-400. At least ASM1 can still be had for a remotely reasonable price I guess. So do you guys see this book coming back down to earth in price any time soon, or you think it will only continue to go up??
