  2. geeeeez.. Divad!!!! At least make an effort and photoshop your scans I kid
  3. Speaking of which, would be interesting to see a corben + Manara team up... There will be some mighty women on that canvas boy
  4. It is a Richard Corben cover, and I love Corben's work. I came across four in one shop in the wild. The owner asked why I was buying so many copies of the book, I said I love Corben's work (true) and that was good enough for him. Had he checked eBay I doubt he would have let them walk for cover price. Almost makes you wonder why Rich never did more mainstream stuff.. Im a huge corben fan and fail to see why the big two would not think of hiring him to do more covers for them, imagine all these keys we wouldve had today if he did that hehe He's too far out for mainstream - it would drive the editorial staff nutz. Like I said earlier, the Corben cover is worth the price of admission alone. He did TMNT.. thats as mainstream as you go. I know him and Eastman are budds but still.. He did go mainstream.. Im pretty sure Marvel didnt want to associate themselves with someone thats as controversial as corben.. They did with Manara, look how that turned out
  5. How is this not here yet.. and while on that topic.. a blue label... Interesting

  7. Not so fast there bud.. A scan wouldnt reveal a spine roll nor will it show how glossy a copy is or not I usually go with pics as opposed to scans, but thats just me I've seen plenty of spine roll on scans. Regardless, high quality scans are always going to show more flaws than photos Agreed. Photos are deceptive, particularly as to "gloss". The only time Ill take a scan over a pic is if the seller says that the book is a 9.4+ (and obviously, at that grade point, there arent any serious flaws allowed). But anything below Ill take a pics please. Emphasis is on pictureS, not one or 2, a few.. BTW, modern smartphones take AMAZING pics, at high resolution.. So I wouldnt dismiss cellphone cams so quickly And last, yes gloss is important to me.. Plenty of books out there with nice glossy covers and plenty without, guess which I will go with..

  9. For the record, the only negative feedback I ever left on eBay was to a seller that pulled that mess on me.. He listed books at 0.99 cents (auction) and with 10.00 shipping per book, and even though his listing stated that he combined shipping he ended up selling me all 3 books for 32.97 and had the nerve to ship them media mail. But with the exception of that bag of person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed I only had reasonable sellers with reasonable shipping charges, at least 99 percent of the times.. I prefer to buy from sellers who offer economy/media mail. And based on USPS actions, it doesnt seem like they mind it too much, otherwise I would imagine they would be more strict about it, or increase their penalties on people who chose to not abide by that regulations
  10. Shipping comics via Media Mail is NOT against the law. It's against USPS policy & procedures, but not against the law. Sending an item through the mail and intentionally using a lower-rate class of mail for which you know your item is specifically not allowed sounds like a violation of the law to me. 18 U.S. Code § 1723 - Avoidance of postage by using lower class matter: "...Whoever knowingly conceals or incloses any matter of a higher class in that of a lower class, and deposits the same for conveyance by mail, at a less rate than would be charged for such higher class matter, shall be fined under this title." While that sounds mighty scary down on paper (or tablet), in real life, when someone ships comic/s via media mail, and gets "caught" the recipient is usually the one that foots the bill.. I've had 3 or 4 transactions in which sellers sent me comic books via media mail and I was required to pay 2-3 bucks to get the package (which was inspected by the post office and notified to me on paper), the sellers werent even notified about it (because the deals I got said books for were so good I didnt even bother) and if I were to put it in perspective, Ive received HUNDREDS of comics via media mail and those were the only ones I had to pay for. Like it on not, that is reality
  11. Key books: CAPstain America CAPstain Marvel CAPS LOCKE and Key PsyCapsLocke
  12. I was just chatting with a college friend (female) who is in a woman's comic book club and they had just finished th Queen & Country omnibuses and most of them were fans after reading them. Queen & Country Agreed.. Is there a movie still in the works?

  15. I live on Long Island, NY, and it's a hot bed of garage/tag/estate sales each and every weekend... Even then, I walk away with nothing good more often than not. Thats because Gary Guarnotta got 'em all before you.. Seriously, I used to go to Long Island for garage sales years ago, but recently, each one I attended was either run by Gary, or was visited by him the day before the sale begun I'm pretty sure he's the guy that opened a shop called LI Pickers in Westbury. Been there a few times and to his house as well. He's too busy these days running sales to troll the sales himself. Thats exactly right.. hes busy.. Gary's one of the biggest buyers in LI and he'd buy big collections before they'd hit the yards.. he organizes some of the biggest tag sales in the island, so chances are you went to his events without knowing Been to his house a couple of times when he advertised on craigslist and each time I got there I was thinking.. Is this Gary's house again?... Oh nooooo He does have a cool setup in his garage tho
