  1. Definitely SG. Heres why: (as seen at Walgreens earlier today)
  2. Time for some new wins: Been hunting for a copy of this book for awhile. This week I found TWO for cheap back to back: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ninja-High-School-1st-Series-Antarctic-Eternity-37-38-39/323317435527?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ninja-High-School-Comic-Book-38-Eternity-Comics-1993-VERY-FINE-NEW-UNREAD/362371961321?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Ive always loved this book. The problem with it is that Ive NEVER come across a decent copy. This book is, hands down, the worst printed book EVER. There arent any copies to be found that have perfect binding because the paper quality is horrible. The pages are usually warped which makes you think the book was soaked in water. And that back cover is ALWAYS worn out. Youd NEVER find a solid looking back cover on this book. That black back cover is the toughest Ive ever seen. Which makes me so sooo happy I scored this amazing looking copy which had NO issues with the exception of slight wear to the back cover. Amazing looking copy for a great price (seller accepted 26.00 on it with free shipp) https://www.ebay.com/itm/PENTHOUSE-OH-WICKED-WANDA-1975-204-COLOR-PAGES-ADULT-HUMOR/263750361125?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I didnt even know this existed. So psyched to own this! Need to clean that sticker out and its a solid 9.4+ https://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-Comics-BATMAN-THE-MOVIE-1989-Dennis-ONeil-Japanese-Adaptation/163122905946?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  3. SHT SHT SHT SHT what a tremendous loss for the community
  4. Marvel Fanfare was the book I was looking forward the most at that time period. Nothing came even close to the quality of art and fun stories of that series in the 80s

  6. Rip. This will always be my favorite work by him
  7. The only thing that sets Spider gwen apart from the rest is that she has her own cult followers In addition to the average comic book collector/reader. Namely within younger female demographics. I am not sure if morales or Silk has cult followers.
  8. Yes I meant morales and gwen. But silk definitely seems to keep the pace almost 1 week after the announcement
  9. UF#4, EOSV#2, ASM#4 all experienced a bump in the past couple of weeks. I think that for most modern collectors this was a sure bet a long time ago (although I personally didnt think ASM4 could be in the same group as the other 2), and Im positive that these books will continue to grow in the future as well
  10. Each book behaves differently. You just have to play it by ear. When I listed mine a couple of days ago there were maybe 20 listings of the reg cover w prices starting at 60$. i sold them that night for 60 each and mind you, asm4 reg cover, is not a hard book to come by.. it was a 5-10 book up till last week. In comparison, a book like omegamen #3, I couldn't move one copy for 60$, even when they first announced the movie. And to me, that's a much bigger key than asm4 will ever be
  11. Of course, theres always the first appearance of Aliens here:
  12. McFarlane swiped the heck out of this book in his ASM run. Another incredible Adams book that doesnt get much attention is Cloak & Dagger #9
  13. Correct. AAdams HEAVILY influenced McFarlane, JLee, Liefeld among others. In the 80s everyone imitated him. The grotesque proportions, huge grins, fine detailed work and textures. Everything belonged to Adams. But by 1992 Adams' imitators were so much more popular than him that his recognition among these giants has started to slowly fade away. If it wasnt for this book, there would not be an ASM 300:
  14. I simply cant believe ASM#4 reg cover are SELLING at 60+ a pop raw. @krighton must be having a field day!
  15. In the 80s Fan fave artists/writers were as a driving force for price correction as movie optioned characters are today. Dave Stevens, Peter Hsu, Art Adams, Eastman, Moore, Miller, Sim.. They'd just make a pin up/back up story/intro for a book, and said book would sell and 9 times out of 10 would see a price hike. Its also funny how in the 80s it seemed like there was ALOT more enthusiasm among readers to participate in art contests and try outs. Marvel Age used to run a regular segment in their magazine dedicated to new artists, ending each segment they would encourage fans to submit their artwork. Books like "How to draw the marvel way", "Marvel Try Out Book" and "How to become a comic book artist" were best sellers. Notice how there's nothing today that engages fans to participate in art contests as there was back then? Was that a marketing strategy? Did it drive more comic fans to buy comics? Or was art just more interesting to readers back then than it is today?
  16. Great Art Adams interior. That cover is dreadful tho. Wth was marvel thinking
  17. There was a time when I was a kid where the only place I found comics was in a stationary next to me. There wasn't another shop within miles away and I was too young to travel elsewhere. The only time I bought Star Comics was when that store ran out of superheroes books and I just had to buy more comics
