  1. Silk has much more story potential IMO if Marvel could actually find a writer that wasn't so involved in skin level diversity and more into diversity of ideas.

Silk (Cindy) has so much in common powers wise with Peter Parker however she has a treasure trove of what if perspective to the world she is now in. She was held in a room during her adolescence and told if she got out it would be dangerous to use her powers. This could be shaped many ways kinda like how the did what if's years ago....That Superman what if he was born in the USSR was a great example who would Peter Parker have turned out if he didn't have Aunt May & other support while developing his powers.

Tons of potential for SIlk. 2c

  2. That doesn't change the fact that the character is now recognizable outside of comics. Jackman is certainly the look people think of when they think of the character, but people are very familiar with different actors taking over these type of roles...

    James Bond

    Batman

    Superman

    Spider-man

    ... now Wolverine.

X-23 is not Wolverine (Logan) clone yes, has her own story yes but not the same. 2c

  3. Hope you're all loaded up after this new trailer!

That is the most bombass thing I've seen in a long time.

That's a nice trailer for sure I'm just worried that the studio just like Marvel is showing us too much and that's about all the action in the movie. hm

  4. I found the 3 set for $150 for the reg issue, then the 1:200 and 1:500. Is that the best price I'm going to find?

Order all 500 for retail of $125? get all the variants and a bunch of donations....

    How to do that? lol

If anyone wants to buy 500 copies for me I have $125 + shipping ready, I'll get the variants + a dozen issues, you can keep the rest lol

Orders on this will be huge. Can you imagine any dealer NOT ordering $250 worth ?Super cheap and that would give them 7 variants on an order that size. This book is pushing itself into the top 10 each month without a 25 cent cover price. Any bets as to the final number ? My bet is placed at 500,000 plus.

730,000 exceeded pre-orders you called it Authority. (thumbs u

+1 I agree this might bump a WD issue to top 5 sales with this .25 cent cover.

  6. Sooo.....I could easily be missing it, but since I found it the first time I know where to look. It looks like any reference to the raffle that was being promoted on here, which a posted claimed never happened, has been scrubbed from this thread.

There is however another thread that still has the information and commenting.

    Why would this be scrubbed?

I never claimed the raffle didn't happen. If you think that then here's one you'll gobble up hook line and sinker. :screwy:

  7.

I thought the double-splash page of walkers was awesome and I couldn't help but wonder how long it took Charlie to draw the backs of their heads lol

    and

I felt that the scene between Rick & Andrea where she's making him feel 'young' was a little out of place. Rick looks and acts so feeble now...had they not let Negan mess Rick's leg up I wouldn't feel that way so much but I don't see how he could ever handle himself realistically against Negan or another adversary like Beta in the future. Maybe that scene was just to affirm to us that Rick's still capable? I don't buy it, though...he needs to have surgery to fix that leg or never get physical in any future confrontations.

    2c

Sidenote - I thought it was a great issue!

Agree about Rick in a big way. He doesn't look and especially doesn't act like a 38 year old. Even a worn out 38 year old.

I'm 38 and look 20 years younger than Rick lol

  8. Well this has turned out to be an entertaining visit.

The CBSI forum even more so. That was fun!

Everyone is obviously within their right to question what's going on--

the when, the how. the who - etc.

But to Linguini and Trey, I am not FOS. Unless you are me or Adrian or anyone else that has worked very hard these last several months, you could not possibly know anything of any material value.

    Right?

So why waste the time! Read a comic. I have one or 5 to recommend.

The artwork in the comic and the timetable that it's get's produced in is pretty amazing.

I think it's safe to assume most people on here and other sites are reading comics. There are a ton out there right now.

But, let's look at one thing, you are posting on the CGC forum (an arm of a company dedicated to providing a service almost solely for the valuation of comics / collectibles) and another forum that is literally titled speculation and investing.

Has there been news since this?

    June 18, 2015

Adrian Askarieh: Yes. I’m producing it with New Regency and Fox Television Studios. We’re in the process of announcing a showrunner and directors for our pilot. The goal is to not make it a miniseries, but make it a 13-episode event series. And if it’s a hit, we’ll do one every year. That’s the plan for Enormous. And it’s moving forward very fast. And everyone seems to be very excited about it.

    http://screenrant.com/deus-ex-jonny-quest-hitman-agent-47-adrian-askarieh/3/

P.S., some of those people were big advocates of the comic from the beginning. I personally supported you when you were on here asking for money.

P.P.S., It's the internet. There will always be people posing discouraging remarks. Don't take it personal.

I don't think CGC cares whether or not a book I pay to grade makes me a 5 dollar profit or a 100 dollar loss after I pay I think you are falling into the speculation part over the collecting/enjoying part

I know a bunch of friends that have older books that they have no intention of ever selling. They are grading for the preservation aspect and others do it for their own pc's. I have even used cgc to improve my own eye at grading as I'm sure others have.

Sometimes members here just want to talk about a title and hope it continues because we like it first and foremost.

And for the record I've been posting in this thread since I read the posting by Authority and I have never seen Tim or anyone else associated with the property on here asking for money.

  9. Yep. Enormous #1a, 1b, and the 1 Phantom sold for $140 on the 10th. A couple of days before, a run of 1-6 or 1-8 with the Rossmo cover sold for $9.99. If you can get a book that had roughly 1000-1500 copies of each cover for and has a quality story in it, buy it. If you did nothing more than read it, you got a heck of a deal (thumbs u

Yeah clearly its dead. I see tons of raw cover 1a's on ebay ....just pages and pages of em. (sarcastic laughs) lol

  10. As I previously stated, even with my very little, absolutely not 'insider knowledge' - option rights can last a long time or a little time, but most that I've read about certainly last longer than one year.

One of the behaviors on this board that irks me is people expecting things to happen on a timeline that suits them, but it just doesn't work that way. Most of these things go belly up, and when they don't go belly up, who knows, they may be years in the making.

Of course I don't expect creators to come and ruin their opportunity. I would expect someone to keep cash in their pocket.

Options that actually move forward have announcements along the way. Preacher was very slow, IMO, in movement. It was optioned 2/ 2014. Then they have to start writing it and the pilot was ordered 12/2014. 10 months and that taking into consideration that Seth Rogan was involved who has plenty of other movies, acting and writing. It hit TV 5 / 2016. Over two years from the option.

Even though it was relatively slow, they still made announcements when they were working on it.

Enormous was optioned 2 / 2016. Has their been any news since then? When someone says "Big News" for a property that is optioned, you would think it would be about the TV show or movie. Not the fact that they are coming out with another story arc.

And, of course this is my opinion. I was simply stating my opinion as to the question that was posed as to why some people don't like Enormous anymore.

I will bet you those "people that don't like Enormous no more" are holders that are either nervous nothing will happen in the future or the title stops publishing new issues or both. When the creator comes on here and says there is news coming that is his choice to either tell us or not.

Belonging to the board for a few years brings me to this conclusion. When news hits and moves forward the cheerleaders come out and pump it up. When there hasn't been any news reported on a option in a while here comes the booo squads.

  11. Not a rumor, it was optioned by 20th Century Fox.

I wasn't speaking about this book specifically or exclusively when I said what I said about cash and rumors, but anyway.

So what is the line then? People like things to actually happen on a timetable that they can benefit from? The truth is no one writing any of this stuff really knows, it's all gambling. A little information coupled with a lot of feelings.

What's that have to do with anything? Lots of comic properties optioned that never move forward. Are the creators coming out and saying there is big news coming on them?

People just want honesty. We don't have the information that the creators have. It's very rare that you hear a creator come out and say something is dead and 'm not sure why.

Is it even remotely possible in the land of Oz you are speaking from that the creator might be under a NDA and can't disclose information at this time yet he wants to give us a tiny heads up???? I know shocking isn't it.

Right, I'm sure the 100 or so optioned comics are all under an agreement still.

If the option is still valid where is the beef? The public doesn't know everything going on behind the scenes and since its not our "intellectual property" its kinda a moot point.

  12. Not a rumor, it was optioned by 20th Century Fox.

  13. Is it time to sell Darth Vader 3 variants yet? Sales are steady

    Do you need the cash?

Do you need to move inventory?

Will u make enough profit for you if you sell?

Do you need to make top dollar or are you looking to grow your buyers?

Ask yourself those 4 questions then you should have your answer.

Do I want to talk about moderns that are heating up? Or do I want to measure more?

    I have my answer.

    lol

You ask the same question in two threads now I was just giving you some advice.

    (shrug)

I guess the head-butting in this thread had me thinking you weren't being sincere. My apologies, I would just like the bickering to move to another thread. :foryou:

I took his questions as sincere but I understand the defensive reflex. It can be tough to tell when people are being serious, sarcastic, angry, or joking. emojis help.

    :roflmao:

The reality is you have to follow trends or better yet, be at the leading edge of them. Nobody wants to give bad advice so you'll here a lot of us say "buy, buy, buy..." when we like a book but almost none of us saying "sell, sell, sell..." because we don't want you to sell too soon. The majority of us want to see others "win". None of us can know for sure can we ? (thumbs u

In 2017 I think I will follow old Wolfman Jack. I had a high school teacher that told me he used to say on the radio everything was for sale.

  14. What's a X-23? (shrug)

(point being even most non comic bookies know who Wolverine is. Even my wife, because it's Hugh Jackman right? I think she is a fad. Like RiRi, or the Totally Lame Hulk).

    Call me in 40 years.

Obvious difference being, 12+ years since her debut she is doing better than ever... ;)

To be fair NYX 3 was a 50-75 dollar high grade raw book before movie news hit and then they made her into the "new" wolverine inside his old costume. That push has sent the book into several hundred dollar range. Will it last who knows but I tend to be skeptical when a book shoots up that fast on a movie appearance that may or may not lead to seeing her again. 2c

  15. Superior Spider-Man #20, Campbell. A 9.8 copy hit $500 and two raw copies have sold for $310 and $315 in the last week.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Superior-Spider-Man-20-J-Scott-Campbell-Variant-CGC-9-8-NM-Signed-By-STAN-LEE-/152357262219?hash=item237933538b:g:x4sAAOSwr2RYKM~L

    -J.

The raw copies are more impressive to me. The link is to a copy signed by Stan Lee. I'd think there would be quite a premium attached to that sig. What do you think ?

All low feedback involved on both sides of that sale as well, and I believe they charge $100 for Stan Lee's signature so I agree that this one is not a fair judge of market.

+ (Almost) All Campbell's sell. This book has also been "hot" for a while IMO.

One of my local shops wants $500-600 for raw new books signed by Stan Lee.

Next time I am in there I will snap a pic of the New Spider-man & Spider Gwen/Silk books signed by Stan Lee they want $500 for.

    Yikes that is scary crazy.
