  1. I really dislike photo covers. But the Daredevil Battles Hitler works because it has both art and picture, and the Reform School Girl just works for some reason.
  2. Just a bit ahead of the vaping craze.
  3. Great stuff to keep! Towards the end of my collecting days (late 80's early 90's) I was down to about 50 comics total (mainly keys and Centaurs). That was the way it was until I started checking out Ebay and various places around 2010. I had a feeling certain golden age rarities were going way too cheap, so I started picking up stuff that seemed to be falling through the cracks. I didn't start collecting again, but I was fortunate enough to pick up about a hundred Nedors, Harveys, Qualities, Holyokes, etc. etc. (mostly WWII covers) from 1938ish to 1943ish (great stuff, but stuff I never actively collected), over the last dozen years, before the recent explosion. So now I have my 50 (give or take) comic personal collection, and a hundred nice wartime GA comics (with the odd DC hero, LB Cole Suspense, Frazetta Famous Funnies-type things I just lucked into).
  4. 30+ years after I stopped actively collecting, all I was left with was keys (and my Centaurs). For the last 10 years (or so) of my collecting I was trading all my gold runs (and hot new stuff - new xmen, spider 252, etc.) for the keys I was looking for. So I kind of traded my entire collection over a period of time for several keys (bat 1, sup 1, mf 52, flash 1, etc.). I've scoffed stuff here and there since then (that I don't really consider part of my personal collection), and some things never got traded for keys (more fun 54, 55, action 4, sup 4, tec 5, etc. ).
  5. I went to one of the Big Apple shows. November, 1999, at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Had some nice Japanese dinner with Vinny and Stephen. I think they were just about to open Metro. I still have some cool gold I picked up at that show. Sid and Marty Krofft were guests.
  6. I did one a day, weekdays only, and ran out damn quick (there are several I don't have pictures of, but that wouldn't have extended my postings all that long).
  7. glad i have this one in high grade or i'd have been upset to have missed it.
  8. always wondered what executioner and zemo thought they were doing in this picture. mimicking enchantress?
  9. Has this all happened yet? Don't wanna miss the fanfare.
  10. The eye is likely around there somewhere scoping out the dudes in bondage.
  11. this was the first centaur i ever bought. 1978 or 1979.
  12. I'm exhausted carrying around the one all day every day.
  13. Used to really have my search down pat, then they mucked around with the categories, eras, etc. and now it's a mess. I was a daily looker/bidder, now I'm an almost never looker/bidder.
