  1. not sure i had seen it before! i'd have cross posted between and betwixt my thread and yours!
  2. mycomicshop usually has many, many fawcetts available. if you buy raw, their grading is usually tight.
  3. Stay away from Canadian editions of American comics. Save your money and bide your time. American and unrestored should not slow down your search much. Let them come to you.
  4. Welcome to the forum! Bought lots of stuff from you in the 1970s (maybe) and 1980s
  5. Need a Zip #43 cover if anyone happens to have one lying around.
  6. MCS has a remaindered copy .5 with the first few pages damaged for $284.95 or best offer. Don't know if that helps you with your copy. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?IID=6619351
  7. These really started to dry up just as I started looking for them.
  8. As a young collector I never thought I'd own any of the rarities or keys I have (and have had over the years). It's been a great ride.
  9. this was a thread bumped from 2005. although i'm surprised to learn the CBG made it to 2005. It was indispensible in the 1980s.
  10. sounds like a lucrative side (back?) practice for them! are they thorough and gentle?
  11. i hadn't seen the other thread. so sorry to hear that he passed.
  12. i've known Vince and Stephen (comicconect) for well over 20 years.
  13. Great buy! There have been many hunts over the years. One that comes to mind was seeing this book in the color photo gallery in the Overstreet Price Guide in 1976 (The Spirit of '76) or 1977 (Porky Pig). I was collecting Marvels at the time, trying to complete my Spidey, FF, Avengers, XMen, Thor, etc. runs. Buying my first golden age book was still at least a year or more away. I read DCs as well, but I wasn't looking for any back issues, or to complete any runs (at that time). I believe this cover made me aware that there were other publishers in the 1930s and 1940s that had vanished in the past, that appeared to be incredibly awesome. I bought my first Centaur from a Sam Fraser mail order catalog in late 1978 (Amazing Man #15). About a dozen years later I was able to pick up the one that started it all (Centaur-wise) for me.
