  1. i don't know about you but my name is sandwiched right between 2 VERY well respected Titans in the Hobby...I will stay where I am thank you!! and as GAtor stated this book was pretty nice in hand prior to slabbing. With the information that we know I think this is a NO brainer...I guess some just didn't read the entire thread.
  2. ....this one doesn't get the notoriety that some Lou Fine covers get, but it's EASILY one of my top 5 favorites by him. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Love this Book Gino. Great pick up!!! It's one of those books when you are flipping through your collection that makes you stop and say to yourself,"Yeeeeeahhh, that's a cool book!" You got that right pal!!! Thanks J!!!!
  3. Thanks Gentleman!! I agree it is one his top 10 for sure and these are pretty tough. Also the fleshed out hands are super strange I noticed that as well but not until I had it in hand so good eye!! (thumbs u
  4. Well this isn't anything near as nice as the 4 books I just quoted as far as condition is concerned that's for sure..Incomplete and beat...but its hard to argue whether or not sweet Lou hit a homer with this cover or not!! I say yes...yes he did. Picked up this raggedy well loved beauty for a song and it was awaiting my arrival when we got home from the lake this afternoon!! No complaints with this day over in northeast O-H-I-O!!...
  5. Nice copy... agreed!! wonderful acquisition Jeff!! You are on fire right now man!!!
  6. Outstanding!! agreed. Stellar comics WHoa!!!!!!!! those are some pretty books there pal!!!
  7. Awesome!! Such an intriguing book!! Makes you wanna pick it up and see what lies between its covers!!
  8. "Nothing neater than a Grouping by GAtor" now say that ten times fast!!
  9. hehehe!! Too late!! Once you picked that up you entered into a realm of NO return!! The weathers nice in here at least and there is always good company
  10. GPRG this Archie and Laugh books are Top Notch!!!!!! Nice snags!!! and Sqeggs you can't go wrong with an Early Pep brother that is a phenomenal example you picked up there!!
  11. That is one of sweetest group shots I have ever seen!!!
  12. Everytime you post these Crackajack pickups it makes me want them more and more!!
  13. I was bidding on a few....I was also at work when they all ended so I missed the fireworks but I am glad to see they all brought relatively strong prices. The Pep #34 was beautiful...The seller was super nice and sent me a slightly more detailed list of all the Peps. I think the #28 went for a decent price. Now is someone can please find me a low grade #34 I will gladly pay oodles of cash for it...I am sure the line is not short though haha!! Congrats to anyone who landed those that was fun to see them all go at a no reserve auction format.
  14. Tough book in grade Billy, yours is one of the better copies I've seen (mine is only a 3.5). Well the nice part you got going with this is that as far as eye tests are concerned this book is a BEAUTY!!!! So is the other BTW!! Great stuff as always BP!!
  15. Seeing as how CGCs PQ designation is virtually laughable in many many scenarios I would take the 1.5...I can see some flakes next to the spine but it's going to have to take a LOT more flaking until it reaches the size chunk that's already missing on the 1.8 haha!! This is a cover driven book no doubt. I'm still depressed I missed out on the USA 5 the other day that sold for under a grand so I don't want to talk about USA books anymore. The splash page on that would have to be supple if I were to finally land one it is one of the best ever!! resume debate while I go cry in the corner over my missed opportunity!!
  16. +1 but that's not a bad 1 to own even if just have 1!!!
  17. Four great books. I've come to really like those National covers featuring Uncle Sam. You keep taking the words out of my mouth!! Those are awesome Claudio!! I would add your beautiful Four Favorites #12 for having both a spectacular cover and phenomenal inside work as well!! Especially that Unknown Soldier story (thumbs u
  18. I would definitely open the door and let these two in! Better make em French doors bc Im letting those in as well!!
