Great thread idea! I’m cheating here but actually have a few others I consider keepers so here is a majority. Some of these I have I had for almost a decade now which is as long as I’ve collected Gold. Some are simply too hard to replace either do to rarity or the current market pricing. I have had some rather grand offers on some of these and turned them down. The Our Flag is probably the book at the top of the keeper list. Mystery Men 30 and AA61 closely behind. I would like a second copy of AA61 but prices are to the moon right now.

That’s a great observation and agreed they seem almost interchangeable!! The Baffler 😂🙌 that would have been hilarious!! From what I saw over on comicbookplus Fate from Hand of Fate wasn’t even in the first issue I saw then later issues he went book length. I think the Unknown actually had his own stories in super mystery but as you said i’m sure they could have switched up the names of the characters and wouldn’t have mattered other than the title of the book. I tend to agree with @sagii that they probably just removed the soldier part of the Unknown Soldier to get to that name but as far as character they were leaning that way in their stories so maybe like EC who also early 1950s and had The Cryptkeeper, the Witch, the Vaultkeeper etc maybe Ace was just coming up with different narrators. I don’t dabble into these straight horror suspense books this is just a guess but a great question no doubt!

What’s even crazier is the Punch 12 was the same price as Rat Patrol #2 albeit in fine-NM condition but still!! Those 2 were definitely not equal long term investments I couldn’t even feed my family 1 meal if I traded in a Rat Patrol #2!! Maybe it’s a cool story though i did have to look it up tanks vs Jeeps sounds cool!!

“Obtainable” is an interesting word as it could mean 2 things here. One being the grail is right at the edge of someone’s buying power that they are not priced out of it. The other being more literal in which obtainable means can get your hands on or acquire. Some books are within someone’s price range but simply can’t be found in the open market for years at a time either due to them being locked up in collections, rare, or both. I love everyone’s thus far thats for sure.

Thanks man agreed definitely strange!! Seeing as these books are 80 years old now though who knows what could have happened along the way!! Maybe a couple youngsters fighting over the book bc it was so cool and one ripped the cover off 🤷‍♂️🙌 😂 6 on the census (4 blue labels) for MM30. looked for this one for a long time before @Ricksneatstuff put this up for sale!!

I have the whole cover too front and back and it’s attached and supple. colors on this are not juiced it’s all just took this pic been sitting in a drawer for a few years waiting patiently!

Well there are 21 total copies of #10 if you count the restored ones...Only 4 total copies of issue #31. Which do think is rarer honest question?!! btw how nice does this present for a 2.0?!! Love to see the Fox books get some much deserved love in the market!! Love em all!! Can someone PLEASE sell me a coverless Wonderworld #7!!

With just a quick read I see the numbers 7-8K a point for AS8. Don’t we include AS8 as a top 20 book? Cap 3 is pretty around the same per point so it comes to reason that maybe we should start at some point considering that book as a top 20 Golden Age comic 🤷‍♂️
