  1. I have done business with Sparkle in the past (buying) and all experiences have been wonderful. It’s been a few years as they kind haven’t had as much GA lately. Like I stated though have never had an issue. I messaged them as I saw a book Speed 28 that I could possibly upgrade my copy and I know a few people who would be interested in my current copy so it seemed like a no brainer. I did email them before I saw this thread and they promptly responded with cell phone pics and an explanation. I will still be bidding it hasn’t deterred me (so get out of my way haha!!) but you can see a huge difference in what they still have pictured in the auction and the cell phone pic. I was blown away by the dripping colors at first glance but now see it looks a bit more like my current copy so will bid accordingly.
  2. I started a thread awhile back about how I sold them a SUPER rare Golden Age book Hangman Comics #8 which was known to them and listed as INCOMPLETE. It then showed up in a Blue Label PGX slab as a complete copy. There was an entire story missing from the book. Still a cool item but even incomplete but this was blatant tomfoolery and I called them out via ebay message and on the boards. The listing got pulled and I haven’t seen the book since. Just a horrid experience. I am almost certain from what I have seen they recycle the same keys over and over with shill bidders until some poor chap wins it at the price they are looking for. They threaten that we are slandering their names but the evidence speaks for itself. I’m no lawyer but I would have to imagine some of their activity at least in the past would be considered criminal.
  3. Since this deserves to be here and I never got around to posting it in its proper home!!
  4. That is a VERY cool find and one I have never seen!! Great stuff!!
  5. Thanks bro!! Yes I remember these guys had the Danger Room in their store which looked pretty neat not gonna lie...All-Star 8 says, “sold out”
  6. These are SUPER cool!! Am I mistaken or didn’t these just sell on ebay? The All Star shy of a mil and the Sensation for about 400K right? Nice little markup there. I’m just not sure what to believe anymore these days same buyer won both books? Not judging but geeze these things are just hot potatoes to me and one of the reasons i would hate to play in that end of the pool although if I did I guess I would get to play with these cool books haha!! I understand these are probably, “I am not looking to sell these books” prices just want to add that as to not offend anyone ?
  7. Nothing better on these boards than a Robot Man Con report!!!!!!
  8. A book anyone should be proud to own for any period of time!! ??
  9. that’s Kind of what I was saying especially with a book like this. Classic Covers are on Fire too like I said before. This is the type of book that just hardly shows up so it only takes 2 people who want it bad enough. I wouldn’t be suprised if the CLink copy popped back up and sold for more than it did I was the underbidder on that copy. With a more common book like AF15 one is not going to pay 40K for a 2.0 at auction unless they aren’t in touch because you could just get on ebay at any time and buy one for much cheaper. Not Aman22 though it’s always a book that when hitting the market could be the last time you will see one for awhile so people pay accordingly.
  10. That right I wasn’t arguing that I remember SushiX posting it after he won it ? I was just stating I saw GAtor post the upgrade recently to that copy.
  11. I thought GAtor now has the 7.0 that sold on CC for 38.5K it was the Berk copy although it got a slight upgrade to a 7.5 ? There was also a 2.5 very nicely presenting copy that sold on CLink for 5.5K in the meanwhile. This is a book the transcends cool though and comes up so infrequently that it’s a “man up” book at any price point and is hard to establish true value for because it is on so many want lists.
  12. contemplated that one myself buddy!! REAL cool!!!!
  13. WHOA!!!!!!! One of the best covers EVER!!!! Add in the rarity the presentation and the PQ and just WOW!! GLWTS!!!
  14. Thanks bro that’s what I’ve heard and seen haha!!
  15. Well I stated in my goals for 2018 thread I wanted to finally pick up a pedigree book. There is something alluring about them and I have continued my research a bit as I wanted more knowledge before diving into them (although I can basically find out everything I need know by following @Straw-Man posts!!) I am not a rich man. I do pretty well for my age imo so I can’t just go buying up any books I see and want there is a method to my madness. I am at heart a lower grade collector and I honestly think I will always be but the stories and the history of the pedigrees excites me as well. So here we go I am sticking my toes in the water with this one thanks to a fellow Boardie...my FIRST pedigree a Davis Crippen D copy with the “D” front and center. Everyone that knows me by now knows I love my Red,White, and Blue heroes so that was a must as well. Here we go!! Star Spangled Comics #5 from 2/42!!
  16. What an AWESOME BOOK!!! Looks great for the grade too!!
  17. Thanks brother I appreciate it!! Yeah it was the one on ebay the same seller had a #32 as well which is another neat one.
