that is s scary note on the pressing. Why would any presser companies press the books than if it would damage them?

x-men 256 high grade copies sure dried up fast after the psylocke announcement.
Did they or did you just list some that you are trying to hype?
Don't own any of this book, but always on the look out. I sure don't see anymore 9.8...do you?

Lucille cover seems to do very well, both retailer and foil versions. Retailer is still my favorite out of all 100's

Posted this on valiantfans too, but thought I'd try here just in case. With Valiant prices going through the roof lately, thought I'd try and figure out what this might be worth - any ideas? Limited to 35 copies, signed by the Valiant creators. Inside pages are NM/MT - book cover and dust jacket show some wear.

Solar 10 is a great book, but outside of hard to find in high grade, I look at importance of the book and nothing is more important to valiant universe than Rai #0. After that A&A and X-O 1 for me. Just to find in high grade there are some low census numbers on other Valiant books. I looked up some of the keys and some only have 50 or so in 9.8. The longer the books sit in long boxes or dollar bins, the less likely they are to get high grade just because of handling, so hopefully we all depleted the high grade books out there over the past 25 years.

X-O 4 is quietly becoming one of the top 5 valiant keys to get right now. Anyone want to do a top 10 ranking of valiant keys to have in cgc 9.8?
I wont' dare start as I am sure someone would throw out my EW5 from the list
Just go buy all three so you collect them as a combined 1st appearance set. I did + one.
CGC even kept them consistent.
EW 5 calls signature's or sketches all over it in the gun blast area. Would love to see an SS copy.

It's hard to make a Top 10 Valiant key list without including the cost consideration.
For example, Magnus #5 has always been a small fraction of the value of Harbinger #1.
Magnus #5 has the first Rai, which is the first original Valiant character... it's a flipbook with Rai #1 (mini-series) on the back.
Harbinger #1 is the first original Valiant title, but one of the "big two" characters is Toyo Harada, who appeared earlier in Solar #3.
So... is the first appearance of the five Harbinger renegade teenagers in their own first title more "key" than the first original Valiant character Rai, or more "key" than an earlier first appearance for Toyo Harada?
Historically, the answer has always been "Yes"... Harbinger #1 has been the "biggest key" among the regular issues... when we look at the price.
It hasn't even been close price-wise... Harbinger #1 has towered above Magnus #5 and Solar #3.
Print run is definitely part of the discussion, being a first issue is part of the discussion, having an iconic cover featuring the five characters with first appearances is part of the discussion.
So, yes, Harbinger #1 has lots of reasons to be more "key" than Magnus #5 and Solar #3...
but there are reasons that they should be more "key" than Harbinger #1.
It's almost a circular argument.
At any rate --- if we're talking about "key issues" without looking at the price (if that's possible), then we need to talk about the "key characters".
X-O Manowar
Harbinger (Harada and the renegade teens)
Bloodshot
Archer & Armstrong
... were the first four titles that Valiant relaunched in 2012.
Shadowman
Quantum & Woody
Eternal Warrior
HARDCorps (joined Bloodshot)
Unity
Rai
... were the next six titles in the Valiant relaunch.
So... if we just take those 10 titles and look for the key issues in the (original) Valiant line, we get:
X-O Manowar - X-O Manowar #1 (1992)
Harbinger (Harada and the renegade teens) - Solar #3 and Harbinger #1 (1991 and 1992)
Bloodshot - Eternal Warrior #4 and Rai #0 (followed by Eternal Warrior #5) (1992)
Archer & Armstrong - Archer & Armstrong #0 (and #0 Gold) (1992)
Shadowman - X-O Manowar #4 and Shadowman #1 (1992)
Quantum & Woody - Quantum & Woody #1 (1997)
Eternal Warrior (and Geomancers) - Solar #10 (1992) for both
HARDCorps (joined Bloodshot) - Harbinger #10 (1992)
Unity - a team book - maybe the new Livewire (Harbinger #3 - 2012) is key
Rai - Magnus #5 (1991)
These are in the order of the 2012 relaunch titles, but having Magnus #5 at the bottom probably means these aren't in a true "Top 10" order.
But I'm tired of typing and not really getting anywhere new, so I'll stop.
Love it....Thank you!

Haven't checked prices this week but I'd wager it'd be:
1) Harbinger 1
2) Solar 3
3) Solar 10
4) X-O 1
5) Eternal Warrior 4
**I know that the print run on EW 4 is higher than the rest, but if I were selling at a convention, I think I'd make more money selling 10 copies of EW 4 than 3 copies of Solar 10.
Nice Start. Up for debate for sure.
Harbinger 1 and X-O 1 I agree should be up there. Solar 3 towards the later end maybe. X-O 3, Rai 0, Shadowman 1, Archer & Armstrong 0, Magnus #5, etc. need to be thought about.

Jay was back for more on another sales thread. As before had great communication and was a pleasure to deal with.

As long as this markets stays this way this book will be in demand. At some point he will show up on silver screen

Another reason EW 4 trumps # 5 and Rai 0 as the "1st Bloodshot" -- it was the one most-hyped by Wizard.
Perfect case of the early collectors' market being indoctrinated to think of EW 4 as the primary key, and it was arguably harder to find than Rai 0 because it wasn't ordered / hoarded beforehand, whereas Rai 0 was (just see the old-school American Entertainment ads for proof of this).
As said a few pages back, Rai 0 became an important book not for the "first full Bloodshot" but because it showed the future history of the whole Valiant universe.
I don't care how rare something is, just cause it is "rare" doesn't make it the most collectible. Hulk 181 isn't rare by any means but myself included and everyone else prefers it over 180 because who really cares about a one panel cameo.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Looking To Cast 'Psylocke'"Fox right now are casting Psylocke," The Wrap's Jeff Sneider reveals in the video above. Fans have been hoping to see the character on the big screen for some time, but does X-Men: Apocalypse really need another mutant?
IT is about time. I am sure it will be the Asian one we all know and love not the old school betsy

I am thinking a bloodshot & Hard corps movie would be sweet, loved their interaction and the entertainment series was a great read. What was the first meeting of bloodshot and the Hard corps during the 90's
Hard corps 5?

I was way too young to read these books at that time but my Mom would take me to the comic shop anyways and usually would sneak out with a few valiants in my bag
-
aren't we all comic fans, otherwise we wouldn't spend countless hours debating our favorite subjects
-
Grew up with Jim lee X-Men so like all those X characters that where popular during that time. Dazzler was only good for the X-Men arcade game and that was about it
-
I always liked Jubilee, not necessarily because of small movie cameo's the character could add some real value to this next movie depending how she is portrayed.
-
The Rai semi-origin story is he doesn't really appear a whole lot and EW 5 is a continuation from #4 which is about as small of a cameo as you get
-
Which one came out 1st? Rai 0 or EW #5? We know EW 4 predates Rai 0, so the tie breaker would be that.
EW#4 Nov 92
Rai #0 Nov 92
EW#5 Dec 92
EW#5 is Bloodshot's second appearance. EW#4 and Rai #0 are the key books. This hasn't changed in the last 22 years.
This is not definitively true. The importance has varied. This is really the true first full and most important book for bloodshot. Read them don't go buy the labels!
We can all agree to disagree. Not sure what makes you the subject matter expert. I have a hell of a lot of comic knowledge myself
Nothing you say here is correct. Do your research I have been following these books for many years as have many of the other Valiant Fans on this board. If you truly like EW#5 the best, that's great! Don't tell people who don't know any better inaccurate information though.

I have seen more than one source say livewire appeared in 14 but I don't see it. Anyone else? I clearly see her in issue 15.
