  1. So on my quest to find both a 1st print and a "true" second print of Zap #2 it is apparent that I need to find a good micrometer to measure cover stock. Any recommendations on what model to buy?
  2. I would have liked to post a high grade 1st print but this is the only copy I currently own.
  3. I have been wanting this book for awhile. The top edge of this copy has me puzzled. So do you guys think this is something that happened during printing?
  4. This was one of the last things I ever purchased from Howard. This was sold as a 9.6, I believe it could be 9.8 or higher r.
  5. Another R Crumb event is happening soon in San Francisco. Heritage Auctions is having a preview of the Eric Sack Collection. They are billing it as the most important selection of artwork by Robert Crumb to ever appear at auction. If anyone wants more info PM me
  6. I would love to meet someone with high grade undergrounds at a con. I have only been to SF comic con and Silicon Valley comic con so far and the offerings were not impressive, One dealer wanted 500 for a vg raw copy of freaks #1. The others just looked at me like I was asking for something illegal.
  7. Here is an old Howard copy, bought off these boards from one of his sales threads. I really like this book. It combines my two collecting interests, UG comix and vintage concert posters.
  8. Much respect for not posting a censored image. This is art, and art should never be censored.
  9. There are only four copies of this book in CGC 9.8. I know that 2 of these copies are owned by board members (including me). I wonder who owns the 2 remaining copies....for me it doesn't get much better than a 1st print underground in 9.8.
  10. A great Robt.Williams cover. Maybe someday I will post a scan of Felch Cumics.
  11. The condition is almost too good, like they were printed yesterday.
  12. I also bought a set a few months back. The seller had a new set listed within 24 hours.
  13. The four pages of the Angelfood McSpade story are going up for auction at the end of this month on Heritage
  14. This is a fantastic book. Angelfood Mcspade, Mr Natural and plenty of Rick Griffin art.
  15. Oldmilwaukee6er- Thank you for continuing to contribute to this journal. You have an amazing collection.
  16. Love that book. I went digging thru boxes and could only find this...This is the print mint version of this book. There is an oversized version that came out a year earlier. Most copies were bound into Surfer Magazine. Quite a few of the books in this thread are from Howards collection including the copy of Air Pirates #1 and Tortoise and the Hare.
  17. I will be posting Rand Holmes books over the next several days. I like what M Steven Fox of Comixjoint had to say about this ....."It's a shame that Fog City Comics was pretty forgettable, being produced in Canada with native artists and all, but the series is still essential to fans of Rand Holmes (and anyone who is not a Holmes fan is a insufficiently_thoughtful_person)."
  18. love that book, picked up my copy last night on Heritage
