  1. Fire away with your picks. The more the merrier. 👍
  2. Sometimes...rarely...but sometimes I regret selling all of my copies of a book. Especially when they’re in really nice shape. The Sensational She Hulk #40 AKA the jump rope issue is one of those books for me. 😝 John Byrne was the artist and there is a well disguised naked jump rope scene that he drew to hilarious perfection. Byrne is a special guy anyway. His run on Fantastic Four was amazing. This is one of his and She Hulk’s more memorable books. I believe it will become more desired as it ages. Like I said, I have zero copies. Rating raw NM = 6 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 7 out of 10
  3. True. I’m not adding variants to the list but I’m just as guilty as anyone. No desire to have the variant here haha. It will probably be worth the most because a large portion of us are avoiding it. 😊
  4. Okay. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to help sort things out. So Batman #609 = 1st appearance of Tommy Elliott ( Hush ) Batman #618 = 1st full page Hush. Batman #619 =1st full appearance Hush I can see why all 3 books would be in demand. I’m going to leave the ratings alone here. Just trying to right the information. Thanks for all of the input. 👍 Batman #609 plus interior. Batman #618 plus interior Batman #619 ...and the last pic was added in my edit. Featuring an interior page from #609. 👍
  5. Would you mind filling us in on what it is ? Trying not to mislead the group. I appreciate your help.
  6. Okay, I’ll correct that and list the Divergence book tonight. Thanks 🙏
  7. @Hey Kids, Comics! recommended Batman #619. The 1st appearance of Thomas Elliott as Hush. At $4-$5 a pop, this is very cheap spec and the last issue of the Hush storyline. Can’t go wrong here in my opinion. The variant is a nice addition too. I have a 1 NM copy. Raw NM = 6 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 6 out of 10
  8. Okay, I’ll fix it. What rating would you give 619 ?
  9. That’s it from me tonight. We’ll get back to it tomorrow...unless someone else wants to throw some more on tonight. 👍
  10. Sometimes books go crazy on prices then fall back to reality. Alias #1 is one of those books but I think it’s more likely to end up at its highs than it’s current price. Jessica Jones and this series were created by Brian Michael Bendis. Yeah, you’ve probably heard of the guy. He’s currently writing a miniseries called Naomi... Anyway, this book sold regularly at $60 or so in NM and over $300 in CGC 9.8. Every cover in the series makes you know that it’s from this series. A lot like Gaiman’s Sandman that preceded it. It is original looking material. The story is outstanding...and sad. Jessica Jones has already been a Betflix hit and I see more potential for her to grow. I’d really be interested in seeing more about her hero days. All that said, I sold all, yes all of my 9.8 and raw NM at their peak. I have zero but this book is on my “ buy it this year” list. I do own it in reprint form. It’s back to a very reasonable even low price. Mix that with an eBay % off coupon and this could be a big winner. Rating raw NM = 8 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 8 out of 10
  11. Next up JLA #40 and #41 featuring the 1st and an early appearance of Grail. I was informed that her 1st fill was in a Divergence book and I’ll be studying up and listing that 1 tonight. She is Darkeseid’s daughter and a well designed character to boot. Half New God and half Amazon. She is immensely powerful in almost every way plus it seems she can fire off Omega beams. In other words, she is one super scary villain. Perfect addition to an upcoming movie in my opinion. The aretwork is outstanding for her entire run. I like both books but #40 was the winner out of the gate. Now it seems people are actively seeking both books and the price they will pay has narrowed in difference. The incentive cover to #40is gorgeous but it’s price does not seem to reflect its rarity yet. I own 2 CGC 9.8 of #40 plus 1 NM+ raw. I also own 3 NM+ raw of #41 and 3 of each of this run up to #50. Ratings #40 Raw NM = 7 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 8 out of 10 #41 raw NM = 6 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 6 out of 10 there is demand for #41 so I will return with better info later.
  12. So I borrowed a little family tree info from the Marvel database. Someone is working their butt(s) off over there to put all of the info together that they do. Very handy. So the next entry is Venom vs Carnage #2. The 1st appearance of Toxin. This book has very good potential in the right circumstance. I own a CGC 9.8 and a couple raw NM. rating raw NM = 7 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 7 out of 10
  13. Next up is All New Wolverine #2. I love this book. Nice cover and the 1st appearance of Honey Badger. Marvel keeps getting it right with all characters in the Wolverine family. She is going to continue to grow in value in my opinion. I own 1 CGC 9.8 and a few in NM- to NM. Rating raw NM = 7 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 8 out of 10
  14. I’m definitely going to give it a try. Looks fun.
  15. Absolutely great cover and very nice spec. 👍
  16. Next entry is a suggestion from @GeeksAreMyPeeps in Nomad #4. An early appearance of Deadpool. I personally had no idea this even existed ( as a Deadpool appearance ) until tonight. I like it. It’s inexpensive and has a pretty cool cover including Kip Winger’s hair...lol I’m buying a copy because I like all things Deadpool and I don’t have this one. I also agree on the suggested ratings. Rating raw NM = 3 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 3 out of 10
  17. @Readcomix suggested the next one and I like it too. It’s Deadpool The Circle Chase #4. I tend to think of this as a way better raw spec than CGC book. The reason is, the book is sought after by set collectors. A lot less people collecting CGC 9.8 are going to be interested in this compared to people wanting the #1-#4 set. I own many of these but a lot less than #1. I’d like them to equal out which will probably never happen. Rating raw NM = 6 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 5 out of 10
  18. @GLCBrad recommended Batman 609, the 1st appearance of Thomas Elliot who becomes Hush. I’d have to agree that this is a great and a little overlooked spec book. Then throw in another fantastic Jim Lee cover and you have an wven bigger winner. Looks like a steady $15 to $20 NM book on eBay. A CGC 9.8 looks to run around the $110 to $120 range. Still plenty of meat on the bone in my opinion. I own at least 1 copy of the book. All of my books from this age are VF/NM to NM+. Rating raw NM = 6 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 6 out of 10 maybe a little higher. Not my spec but I do like it a lot.
  19. You’re welcome. Thanks for joining in the discussion. We’re going to open up all the cans of worms we can think of together 😆
  20. I’ll add it. How would you rate it raw and graded 1-10
  21. Thanks for the kind words. I’ve definitely received a lot more from this community than I’ve given. I’m having fun with the thread as time permits. I’ll add the #4. I almost always buy these in sets when possible and I definitely have more #1s than Han #4s. 👍
  22. Batman #609 is a great add. I’ll put it on the list. I think people have settled on 655 over 656 but things can change. Who knows. Wasn’t 655 the 1st Morrison too ? That may have a little to with it. 🤔 thanks 🙏
  23. Here we have Deadpool The Circle Chase #1. It seems significant to me and also seems a reasonably priced raw between $20 and $30 for a nice copy. It sells for around $100, give or take a little, in CGC 9.8. It’s plentiful on eBay but what isn’t ? It’s the 1st book from the 1st Deadpool mini series. This is the rare occasion where I see the 1st regular series as a better buy than the 1st mini due to the writers but this is still a book I like to buy. i have a CGC 9.8, a CGC 9.6, and a lot of raw books from VF to NM. I love it. rating raw NM = 6 out of 10 CGC 9.8 = 7 out of 10
