  1. Worst Customer Service Ever!!! So I bought the 4 most random Walking Dead graded books ever on eBay this week (67,74, 81, 86, all 9.8's). All random backissues, with no real importance to the series at all. All 4 were single auctions that were ending within the hour, and I needed all 4 books anyways. I read the auctions and it didn't say anything about combined shipping, but I, like a , assumed that because the other 98% of ebay will combine on shipping with CGC's assumed that this guy would too. I messaged him to ask, but got no reply to it. So I won all 4 after adding bids averaging about $50 a piece. So I message him again asking if he can combine shipping, and mention that the USPS Flat Rate Medium box can hold all 4 and ship for less than $15. Nothing! For about 36 hours, so I message this guy again. "Can you please update and combine shipping?" Before I forget to mention that he is charging $15 per book, times 4, that's $60 for shipping for these 4 books that I did not really need as much as I thought. I get this message in return (I deleted the email, so I am loosely quoting him): "I do not combine shipping of books, and nowhere in the auction is there even a hint of combining. I pack them with bubble wrap each in it's own box. Sorry. Besides, only an insufficiently_thoughtful_person would combine CGC books in a package. And, as far as cost you really should do your homework next time before throwing prices out there." So I send back: I did my homework when I shipped out 3 similar books today actually using the same box and it was $12.49. Can you help me out? Or can we cancel the transactions? Can you at least put two in a box and I'll take responsibility for them past that point? I get this back (This is the real email): You made the mistake and you should take responsibility for it and pay the bill. You assumed something that was not mentioned at all. If don't pay the bill that is your choice. It is people like you that should not even be on ebay. So, my feedback is 864, with 5 stars in almost all categories and only a few bad over the 6 years I've been on there. His is 86. This is by first the worst customer service I have ever gotten in my life. He insulted me right away out the gate basically calling me an insufficiently_thoughtful_person. I supervise 250 people whos basic job is customer service. I would have fired this individual_without_enough_empathy on first look at both emails. Because I don't want to damage my ebay account I paid the *spoon*. I'm just wondering how great this books really are, and his immaculate shipping job. I can't wait to get them. This guy is someone who is on this very site (starts with a V). I guess my advice is read it before you buy it. Because this guy is the biggest individual_without_enough_empathy I've dealt with while collecting. Fanboys!!!! On a side note... I recently got my TWD 1-10 back from the CGC, and they sure as mess had no problem shipping them together. What a bunch of insufficiently_thoughtful_persons!!! 2. I got my first books back... I have started to take a lot of pride in my collection, and in what I really want it to be. I don't have the kind of money to blow on some of these that are pre-graded or signed with sketches that people want $100's of dollars on ebay for them. I felt this calm come over me when I got #1 back from the graders, that really sat well with me, as it was a raw book that I found and sent in. My find! My book! Not something that someone else found and sent in to be graded and sold. There is a certain level of purity in it. My precious!!! I am very high strung, and have OCD. So when I collect something, I don't just half- it, I collect it. The completionist in me will be at bay and in control when it comes to buying these remaining issues, unless it something special or very cool, like that Elantra guide. I also collect Chuck Palahniuk books, and have over 100 different covers, variations, and different languages for his less than 15 releases. My OCD has gotten the best of me on the Palahniuk front, but I can't let that happen with this new comic book bug. With all of the variants and limited stuff I'd be in the poor house in no time, and I have a wedding coming up in August. Besides, I hate variants as it is, and only own 1; the #101 Ghost Variant <---- Kill Bill fanatic! I guess the moral of the story is that I need to take some pills and stay off ebay! 3. Waiting for my 1st order to come back! So they finally graded my stuff. My Walking Dead #1 that I bought at Saver's for .50 came back as a 9.6. I am very happy with this. It made my day. I think I am going hold on to it for awhile. That book could pay for a semester of school someday for one of my kids, and keep them out of a blue vest! My #9 and #15 came back as a 9.8. I am even happier with that! These are two of my favorite covers, and #9 is one of the best in the entire series. Now, I am just waiting by the mailbox daily for that box to arrive. We just got a giant snow storm, so it may take longer now. Actually bent my shovel. Heaviest snow ever. I grilled out not even a week ago, and my fiancé got a sunburn. Minnesota sucks! 4. I found The Walking Dead issues #1, 3, and #8 at a 2nd hand store and paid fifty cents each. I went into the Savers in Rochester, MN today and saw them putting out a bunch of bagged and boarded comics. I noticed that they were a bunch of older Star Wars issues, which I was gonna buy for kid because he likes reading them. This guy was flipping through them, and then walked away. I started flipping through them and came across a Walking Dead #8. My heart jumped as I saw the #3 behind it. And I nearly fainted when I found a #1. All three were in very good condition. I am thinking they are all at least 9.4 and above. Gonna get them graded. And, I paid .50 each!
