  1. hm

I never did add my shots to the thread. Felt it wasn't deserved after I took too long and removed my page as well. I did throw in a bunch of "I'm sorry goodies for the next 6 or 8 boardies to choose from."

I would hope it keeps going so that stuff does not go to waste and other people enjoy it.

Let it continue going to those that still want to participate.

Since it was scrubbed, I will re-post this portion which I think is valid moving forward otherwise people will have no idea what happens next.

No one was blaming any one member for taking too long or not taking good enough photos. Life happens and things run their course. It had just seemed like the thread had fizzled out naturally and that includes more than just the last couple of transfers.

After I get Kraven from Quadman, I am going to post the pages of the journal entries so far so people can see what has been written in there, drawn, etc.. This will give people a chance to see it that may never see it and in case it gets lost while in transit or a member with it disappearing.

Anyone who is on the list will keep their order on the list after I verify they still want to participate. If others want to be added, that is of course more than great.

I would like to be added.... and my offer from last night still stands, Kraven wants some Fire Whiskey from the Hog's Head :sumo:

  2. well, I was bored Friday and decided to check out a chronic Craigslist poster. He had some nice books but prices were a little steep. Turns out he was a writer for many years and wrote a bunch of comics...Mike Pellowski. So I decided to toss out some good money for some good books.

Basically I likely overpaid a bit but he was a nice older guy and I was JoJo The Monkey Boy once again.

And these don't really count for this thread but here are my purchases from last week's Garden State Comic Fest in Morristown NJ.

  3. I haven't seen much action in my neck of the woods at estate sales recently, so I was cautiously optimistic when I saw what looked like a healthy stack of late 50's and early 60's DC, Archies, and a few Marvels in the advertisement.

I showed up at around 7:30am (doors opened at 10am) and I was number 17 on the list. Luckily for me, they let the first 20 people in at once, so I was right there. Luckily again, the comics were spread out so the 2 or 3 other comics guys that were also there each got their own stack to look through without too many "overreach" shenanigans.

Nothing really high grade, mostly solid VG's and a few F's...and priced very reasonably for the most part. I missed out on the few early TTA and TOS books, but I'm mostly a DC guy anyway, so I couldn't get too upset.

Here's what I ended up scoring...

Nothing too high-grade for my Superman collection, but I did fill a few holes and pick up a nice reader copy of Superboy #86.

The real find for me, was the Showcase #35 with the 2nd appearance of The Atom! The bonus was that this was one of the nicest books that they had that I came across.

I tell you though, if there's an Adventures of Bob Hope collector out there, you would've had a field day here.

All in all, a sale well worth getting up early for!

    Nice haul :applause:
