  1. There are people who like those labels, and they had their book slabbed before the labels existed at all. Labels came out in 2016 I believe someone stated in here and even then labels are limited time deals, they come and go. Of course it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I’d guess most that opt to reholder a book for a custom label are in this group and it is a “good reason” to them.
  2. Honestly I don’t think GoCollect really thought it all through. I can’t imagine they want to try to be the authority on what is and isn’t a “fraudulent sale”. Just because a book is on this list does not mean it’s fraudulent. Just because a book isn’t on this list does not mean it’s not fraudulent. Furthermore a book may have multiple sales wherein some are fraudulent (after the scammer swapped it) and some are not (before the scammer swapped it). Also asking the community to report the fraudulent sales is a whole other problem. You are setting yourself up to have Seller A who wants to slander competitor Seller B by marking all of their sales as fraudulent. So, even if they believe removing sales data is the “right” thing to do I don’t think they’ve really thought thru what a headache that will become for them to police. It would be nice if they highlight books that are on CGC’s evolving list with a note but beyond that I don’t really think much else is a wise idea for them to entertain.
  3. Not really that I know of, I recommend staying on a break. I should really consider such a thing.
  4. Of course nothing being said today confirms the above theory, but this diagram is probably a bit more relevant for everyone now that didn’t watch Thoro’s stream.
  5. It’s probably closer to 99% are not savy to the boards. And they’re probably happier people than us.
  6. Yeah they have several of those 300’s not all are 9.8’s some are raw some are slabbed some are blacked out manually by them on the cert numbers and some are just not high enough resolution for me personally to be able to make out. Maybe someone else can.
  7. Some of them are some of them are just poor resolution. It’s not common no. They posted a very clear one for the 4.5 SS AF 15 that was in the same original submission as the 6.5 SS (on the list) and the 2.5 SS though:
  8. Now that it’s out there what about these ones on the same IG: all just interesting collections of books.
  9. Tempting… I still feel like this should be CGC’s responsibility to put whoever they feel is potentially connected out though.
  10. For the record none of them are 2020. The one is now 1/5/24, they were all originally 2018. If they were 2020 we’d have bigger problems as it would imply Stan was resurrected to sign these for them to first be graded in 2020. But your point remains, the 6.5 was resubmitted for a custom label sometime after 2018 the 2.5 and 4.5 from that submission were not it would appear.
  11. Well CGC knows for sure lol. But we don’t know, just seems very odd. I was also under the impression the book would get a new cert if it was regraded and verified and the new graded date would therefore not be on this submission but on the new one. This one would have then been removed from the list (like others that have been crossed off) which it hasn’t been and removed from the census.
  12. CGC has quite the power if they know who the scammer sold it to to reach out to them. They would know who submitted for reholder/custom label (the scammer) but this book doesn’t appear on GPA as being sold and a book of this magnitude would have been seen by someone in this thread if the sale was public. If it was sold after the scammer submitted for reholder one would think it was a private sale. If CGC knows the private dealings of this individual(s) that would be quite hopeful going forward, I’m not sold on that being the case though.
  13. The list came out on the 3rd though right? He’d have had to see the list and overnight the book immediately to have it graded on the 5th. Possible I guess…
  14. although the 002 book now has a new graded date of 1/5/24. Indicating they graded this after they put it on this list?
  15. Yes, I have direct evidence the same shop ID’d that sold the JIM 85 SS to @Crimsonira also had that AF 15 6.5 SS in their possession before the reholder/custom label, and also had a AF 15 2.5 SS, and AF 15 4.5 SS - these 3 being from a single submission. Also agree that these books may not necessarily have been tampered with. They also have other big SS books not on this list in the same style of having Stan Lee sign on the back cover as the AF 15.
  16. Can anyone tell me why these 2 on the list: 3743694005 3743694008 and these 2 from the same sub have the status of “Rejected”: 3743694007 3743694006 Are these rejected reholder attempts?
  17. They still have other books listed, just not that one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/204423657597?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=yanKPm_zRHi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=m-sadZNGSdW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  18. I contacted the individual selling this book on eBay. We had further conversation, not included because they did go on to name the actual physical Comic Book shop in NY as the source they bought it from that many of us have already connected to the eBay sellers. @CGC Mike I told them to reach out directly to CGC, so they may be doing that now.
  19. This auction got pulled. Not sure if it was eBay or the seller, but it was ended thankfully. Good work.
  20. Interesting… 001, and 002 from the submission are also ASM 194 9.8’s but those I see as sold on GPA in August 2021. This one I don’t see, very well could have been bought in private, or a site that doesn’t report. Either way they probably paid premium pandemic price if they also bought in summer of 2021 and already were thinking they were going to eat a loss selling now. Once they find out it’s on the blacklist…
